    Tankermind?

Freak Lts... Yes, I can take them down, mez, debuff and generally prevent them from doing anything harmful all before they can mez me. Those wails, same story. Rikti, same story. Why I should have more problems with other mez only because some toggles drop is beyond me. Are you talking about Acrobatics? Heck, why should I need Acrobatics if my mez protection is proactive and not reactive? It's the same for all of my three remaining MMs (/Poison and /Dark secondaries).

Tanker/brute/scrapper? lol no. (One of the basics, protection from all mez except non-toggle droppers is only necessary if your protection is reactive and you have actual armours that could drop.)
Wannabe tanker/brute? lol no... Well, maybe in some cases, but I can only speak for myself.
Better tank than the usual brute? Bingo.

    Tankermind?

Mez and debuff the mezzers first.
Or let the robots unload their alpha strike on the mezzer before switching back to bodyguard mode. It's better to potentially lose a tier 1 henchie which you can instantly resummon than to spend most of the fight being helpless.
And then there is always breakfrees when something goes wrong for whatever reason (series of misses, too many mezzers, resilient mezzing boss etc.).
With all the mez/debuff tools at their hands /Dark and /Poison are like made for masterbrutes.

EDIT: Sovereign Right's mez resistance? I guess the question is about the global bonus. It's only 2,75%, but it stacks nicely with the mez resistance IO from Aegis and stuff like that. However, it is only something reactive for those moments when you failed by being mezzed in the first place.
  3. Perhaps he has a special utility not only randomizing his builds but also his threads?
  4. After seeing the OP's build in the blaster section I am now convinced that there must be a randomizer option in Mid's Hero Designer. The only other option would be that the OP has a pet monkey who plans his toons.

I got a question for you, I didnt know Mids' hero designer had a "randomize powers and slotting" option in it. Please tell me where it is.

Funny. Just what I thought when I saw that build. Must be a coincidence.

Ehh where else whould we discuss it? The Tankermind is a proven concept and has been around for a while.

Eeeehm, was the smiley not big enough? I thought it was quite clear that that statement was a joking reference to the almighty 'What is tanking?' discussion regarding the tanker AT.

If we are talking about which combination will be standing last FF secondary will certainly be one of the best, but that's only if we count 'seconds survived' and not total efficiency (which could perhaps be measured in something like 'xp survived'). In terms or the latter /poison and /dark are the best (with one being better than the other depending on the situation at hand) and either zombies or thugs would be a nice match for tanking purposes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dont see your point to be honest, ofc we assume that the mastermind would survive the battle...

    [/ QUOTE ]
My point is that the question 'Which MM tanks best?' is similarly difficult to answer as the question 'Which tanker tanks best?' (and could easily provide material for a similarly heated discussion).
There are so many questions to answer: How much damage can I take? What can I do to keep my teammates and henchmen alive? How long will I have to survive the punishment, i.e. what can I do to reduce the opponents' survivability? etc.
Resistance and defence are the 'conservative' answer to questions of survivability, but do little to save others unless extra effort is spent to keep enemies' attention focused on you as resistance and defence works as mitigation of damage input on the receiving end.
Debuffs on the other hand do more for keeping everybody alive without you having to spend extra effort as they mitigate enemies' damage output and draw quite some aggro anyway. And as a bonus you can debuff enemies' survivability, thus further limiting the potential incoming damage from a given amount of opponents.
So, given the general conditions of a MM with pets, bodyguard mode and all that I would prefer 'debuff tanking' any day, but more 'traditional' players may rather resort to /FF + Presence pool although it would not be that efficient overall. With /traps secondary you will have something of both worlds which may be a good thing if traps are your thing.

Account-basierende SG-Mitgliedschaften? Anpaßbare Kräftesets (also z.B. blaue, rote und grüne Blitzangriffe)?

    Melee Mastermind IS fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sure. All of my MMs have Air Sup and Sands of Mu or Undead Slaying Axe respectively and most of the time I charge into an enemy spawn first where I unleash my full debuff and melee power. Fun as hell, but when I am in a team people tend to be irritated by the masterbrute.

    Tanker Team?

Do you really think playing in an all-tanker team makes tankers seem more appealing? I believe seeing such a team in action would be equally exciting as watching continental drift in slow motion. There is just not nearly the amount of synergy like with overlapping debuffs in some all-squishy teams nor the same feeling of accomplishment after doing something with squishies that normally would have been done with a kind of tank.
The only way I could see this as an interesting (and working) concept would be to layer as much AoE effects/damage as possible, such as a kind of 'elemental team' where only ice and fire sets are allowed.
Don't get me wrong. I really wish you good luck and all that, but I think once the initial thrill of a one-AT-team is gone you might feel that the advancement is slow and the fun quite limited.
  16. Well, with uncoordinated attackers MMs can win against even higher odds... although for fighting successfully against a full 8-man hero team one has to turtle in a RV pillbox only jumping out of it for debuffs etc. Nevertheless it feels great!
  17. Well, the thing about Ice's much higher damage is basically a myth.
I've played Ice to level 40 and Sonic to level 50, so I had some time to compare those sets (and I really love both for different reasons).
Ice can really dish out some burst damage, but dps-wise Sonic is king, although those numbers get screwy once the attacks are slotted up and with kinetic speed considered (as attacks will recharge faster than they can be used). However, the -res is what makes Sonic's dps-day. You can permanently keep up the res-debuff of your three single target attacks and the stun (which should give something like -15% res each) which makes Sonic an AV/Hero killer and a scrapper's nightmare in PvP.
And the really good thing about the -res is that it boosts the damage of the whole team. With my Sonic/Kin corruptor I have seen many AVs go down in mere seconds due to a cascading wave of escalating damage.
A few more things why I think that a Sonic/Kin is a good choice:
As already mentioned the ranged stun is great. You can pick off a whole lot of squishies in PvP (with or without Acro running), prepare the finishing strike on an endurance-drained tanker or scrapper and provide some protection from particularly troublesome mobs while res-debuffing them at the same time.
One of your starting attacks (I think it's Scream in English) is a pure DoT (as opposed to an attack with a secondary DoT) with 5 tics. Pure DoTs are a good thing with IO sets around as proc chances can trigger on each tic. Because of that e.g. the Hold from Devastation has actually a 67% chance (instead of the normal 20%) of triggering with each activation of this power (with a base recharge of 6 seconds and nice damage on top of that) and a 26% chance of triggering more than once with each activation. Yes, that's nasty.
So, which kind of kin is better depends on the kind of kin you need. Personally, I have found my Sonic/Kin to be more versatile, more useful overall and less FotM than Ice/Kin (although I know that my Ying Long has inspired some players on Zukunft to try Sonic/Kin).

Oh, you couldn't be more wrong. That would be the same as saying all corruptor primaries are the same.
(And you can ignore the blasts anyway, as they get more and more insignificant the further you level up.)

That's all well and good from the point of view of somebody who reads the forums and knows the game well, but for a new player it's just not practical.

Let's say it's not practical for a newbie who is all on his own. As soon as he's got some more experienced friends to help him out it is.

I'd like to see that experiment in action. Especially wenn collision detection rules set in again on a hundred revived toons and force them to spread out like a firework of resurrection.

    howling twilight

AFAIK target caps are only for hostile effects. As a rez is - just like a heal or a buff - a beneficient effect the rez part of Howling Twilight will affect as many toons as you can squeeze into it's area.

    Getting Bored ?

Oh, don't get me wrong: I really like sarcasm, but your statement is not exactly an invitation for something like that.
You sound a little bit downhearted and it seems as you would really like to enjoy this game further, but for some reasons you can't like you used to.
Since I can't look into your heart from here I can only speculate and talk about what works for me:
Something about your statement leads me to the assumption that you have lost quite some friends who left the game for various reasons. I can understand if this saps away some of the enjoyment. For me half the fun about any MMO game is the contact to other players. The funniest conversations via TS or chat seem to be separate from the game itself, but in fact the game serves as a kind of catalyst. (For example, I love listening to a friend inventively cursing about some of his team members. Pure comedy, especially since he has a known 'unlucky streak' with PUGs! )
I don't know if you regularly use TS, but imo it changes a lot about the gaming experience if you have the right people on your TS server.
The other thing that saves me a lot of boredom is my altitis and the way it manifests for me. When I build new toons I rarely build something I have seen or read about before. Instead I try to think out of the box, whip out my planner and build something original. It's just my preferred playstyle: The more offensive and the more complicated a build is the more I like it. Otherwise it would be quite likely that I would also feel like beating the same mobs over and over by now.
Often enough these two points merge and I end up building a kind of "crazy super team" with some friends full of toons who are quite good in itself but form synergies of unholy proportions when teamed together (and played cooperatively). And I just love seeing picked up team members saying something like "Uh, oh, this will never work" before a mission and "Whoa! That was easy!" afterwards.
Well, yes, if all else fails I think a short break might really help. I have tried this once in a while and after two to three weeks my head was bustling with new ideas for CoH/CoV again.
Whatever you do, stay tuned for I10. We need every hand in our fight against the Rikti invasion.

    Getting Bored ?

Oh, actually we are looking for a replacement for Bloodforce. So, if you want to bring up a list of bugfixes and whine about all the now gimped powers or do similarly stupid things, go ahead. This would surely alleviate some boredom... although not necessarily yours.
But seriously, if you have something to say, say it. Because saying that you'd rather not say anything seems really pointless.
