For Corruptors, the following powers have an accuracy penalty (meaning that the subtotal of (1 + AccSlotting) * (75% + ToHit Buffs - Defense on target) gets multiplied by the following value):
Dark Blast - Dark Pit (0.8)
    Sonic Blast - Shockwave (0.9)
    Sonic Blast - Siren's Song (0.9)
    Storm Summoning - Gale (0.9)
Storm Summoning - Thunder Clap (0.8)
    Presence - Invoke Panic (0.8)

That's it. There are no other powers available to Corruptors that have a penalty, and each and every one of those is an AoE control (counting KB as a control). This can also be checked using the in-game numbers.

The only inherent accuracy penalty is for AoE control powers, there is no accuracy penalty for a damage power simply being an AoE and anyone saying otherwise is ignorant or lying.

Do wish I had 200% defense against things like Rularuu watchers and DE after Quartz drop, but largely 200% defense is pretty pointless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

wouldnt make any difference, the quartz is (I beleive) +200% tohit which would still lol through 200% defence

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless CoD is wrong (using the wrong table or some such), Quartz Eminators provide +100% tohit.

    [/ QUOTE ]
True, but the AoE is large enough that you tend to get them stacked on treespecs where the spawns are close together in a sand cave.
  3. Poison Trap has an initial short-duration autohit hold and a fairly low chance for hold that happens while the mobs are in the cloud.

In a prior issue - I forget the exact one - the devs saw that the hold was going off more often than they wanted it to and changed the frequency that it makes the checks from 5 per second to 1 per second, thus reducing the mitigation ability of he power.

Then, when they were trying to fix the issue with procs turning it into a nuke, they discovered another issue with it - it was an AoE with no max targets, and was summoning one cloud per mob in the AoE. Given the ability to herd mobs up and then toebomb them with a large number around the trap, you'd frequently have multiple clouds, and this was likely the issue causing the greater hold chance than wanted, allowing mag stacking to hold bosses, and causing the procs to fire so many times right away. It was set to a maxtargets of one, so it will only summon one cloud but the frequency of hold checks per second was never put back to 5, so it's less effective than it ever has been for both mitigation and procs.

Obviously I haven't made it high enough yet to try out ET and but I'm not thinking that I'm going to like taking dmg just to use an attack. Now I know it can work as a great opener but is it really worth it after that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The hit point loss typically proves inconsequential next to the immense damage inflicted.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This, especially after it's slotted; the self-damage isn't enhanceable, the rest is - without slotting the self-damage is equal to the energy portion.

And even with the self-damage, with Ninjitsu you're playing a set with a heal. Since with that level of recharge ET will be cycling around every 10 seconds (2.904 animation, 6.864 recharge with a gapless chain) you'll be taking an extra 17 DPS, roughly. Sha will keep up with that easily.

EQ pulses 0.67 KB for 30 sec, from level 1 to level 50 scaling. That's KD. Unless you're boosting it in some fashion, it cannot do KB, aside from an unlucky combo of powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Possibly Air Burst set bonuses? At two it provides global +KB.

But yes, other than +KB effects (enhancements, stacking, or global bonuses), mobs weak against KB, or mobs lower than your level it should only do knockdown. One change I wouldn't mind would be lowering the mag similar to Blizzard (0.1 base) so that unless it's enhanced and against mobs much lower level than you (so it's 5x as effective) it will always only do knockdown.

Hey, guys, I skipped to the end, but did anyone call him on:

    1. Taking a brute on a LRSF?
    2. Not noticing that LR has a +1,000% tohit buff to smash whatever his def based character had?
    3. Lying?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    1. I take Brutes on a LRSF all the time.
    2. Irrelevant, since you're working for him and not fighting him.
    3. He's been called on that a few times.

Also: yes, DE quartz crystals will make any level of defense (even hard capped at 225%) useless.

    DB and Gloom

Wasn't it made clear by a developer that redraw has no affect on attack timing? I thought that the only drawback to redraw was aesthetic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wasn't it clear, that by the very nature of the question posted, that it was not clear to the op?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I stated in my post that I believed the only drawback to redraw was aesthetic (as far as I know).

    [/ QUOTE ]
This is untrue - it used to be, however.

Dual Blades in particular was the first set that didn't have the draw time baked into the power animation and rooting times. Most of the other sets with draw times have been reviewed and the animation times changed to eliminate the draw time; the exceptions that I know of are Thorns and Spines.

As for working Gloom into the chain... it's possible, but you have to add the draw time to its animation time when figuring out how it's going to affect your DPS. Without the added draw animation time, it's one of the best attacks a Brute can get for DPA - with it... not so much.

    My take on Nin:

If you just want the basics, it's fairly loose. It's got the same strength on the toggles as SR (remember, just taking the toggles), and only needs two of them instead of 3 to cover everything. They're both available early, and it has a Reconstruction copy to alleviate any desire to take Aid Self.

Blinding Powder is fun, and funny. It's also a good mule for IOs. Contagious Confusion makes it downright hilarious.

Smoke Flash... meh. I don't like it, but some people love the extra Placate. I personally find that it not being autohit and the longish animation make it less useful than I prefer, so I tend to skip it.

Caltrops messes with mob AI sufficiently that if it doesn't get you out of any problem, you're not trying to get out.

Playing with IOs will let you softcap all positionals, although your defense debuff resistance could use some help - you can, but shouldn't (see: Kuji-in Sha, Caltrops, Blinding Powder, Smoke Flash) suffer cascade failures.

As for EM, with a fair bit of recharge (216% in Total Focus, 191% in Energy Transfer, 176% in Bone Smasher counting global + enhancements) you can chain ET, BS, TF, BS - those are the highest DPA attacks in the set once you account for server ticks. It should do just fine even with less recharge, since Energy Punch is just below Bone Smasher for ArcanaTime DPA. I deleted my EM/Nin, but that was because I already had a 50 DM/Nin for single target, and an Elec/Nin if I desperately needed to do energy damage for some reason.

    I'm there with you, Helios_Carnage.
    I'm already actively doing so.

I'm also taking time to report players broadcasting for :: <ul type="square">[*]more members for AE farm teams[*]players broadcasting that they are looking for AE farm teams.[/list]
I send along the time, server, and side that they sent the broadcast message along with a cut-and-paste of their message and their global handle.

Needless to say if you say anything about PL-ing you're getting reported as well.

    So frustrating

    [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I try to drop missions as little as possible because it feels like just giving up. I'm musch more likely to broadcast for help than to drop a mision. Unless it's a low level mission I've done a dozen times, or it's the like the Defeat the Infected mission where the travel time:reward ratio is high.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Mission teleporter ftw - tp across Mercy to run the mission, call it in from the far side of the island, head to the plaque for Lorekeeper, pick up Next Big Thing while you're over there, and then Pocket D to Port Oakes if you don't want to avoid spawns on the way to the ferry.

Alternative is to mission tp to it, then suicide on a nearby spawn and you're back in Fort Darwin for the second arc (starting with "Mop up the stragglers"). It's not like you get debt.

  22. &lt;QR&gt;

If single-target DPS is what you're looking for, check the threads linked in my sig; which one you want to look at depends on how much you plan on investing into your character.

AoE damage is a bit harder to quantify since you have to account for the time getting the mobs in the AoE instead of simply smashing the mob you have targetted into a thin paste on the ground.

    Chain Induction

    [ QUOTE ]
Hi, I heard some people saying the power "Chain Induction" from electrical melee (brutes) is bugged, and if you put a proc in it, the chance of it jumping from the next target becomes the chance of that proc? Is this true or did they fix this already? Anyways, thanks!

    [/ QUOTE ]
AFAIK it's still bugged, but that's not from personal testing. I'm just going off of the fact that it was acknowledged as a bug a while back and there hasn't been any word since.
