Its understandable. I dont think many people realise just how much resistance it can grant.

I think you pretty much answered your own question. It is possible to get just shy of 40% resistance to energy and smashing. I dont know another power in the game that grants that level of resistance without being a tier 9 in an armor set.

I didnt. My sm/l is sitting at 32.5ish so a small purple can cap me, but perma PA means I rarely get aggro.
  5. There is the incarnate tab at the top of mids. Double click it to open the incarnate window and pick you tree and tier. Make sure it is toggled on when you look at the stats.

As for ranged def... I have never really found it nessessary. with PA perma, there isnt much aggro I pull. I am sitting at 32.5ish to sm/l so a small purple brings me up to softcap but rarely need to bother.

What corporation doesn't make decisions that way? NCsoft is not a Mom and pop shop mate. Thats the reality of it.

I didn't take SI. There isnt much in the game that can see through AF and a stealth IO that can't see through SI.

    Dont forget your towel.

As for Op. Will probably be rolling two. Fire/TM corr and Ill/TM troller.

    Fire makes all things better.

TM carries a couple extra holds and provides a bit more control to round out Ill. Any of TM's long recharge powers will be easily up most of the time in trying to get PA up perma.

It is unrealistic to expect a dynamic downtime. I am okay with the servers being down in the AM even if that is the usual time that I play. In fact, I would much rather have it down in the AM the same time every week if it means I dont need to consult a calendar and figure out which week, and what time it is down now. I Play At The Same Time As You and I Dont Feel Shafted Brother In Spirit. As I said earlier, don't take it personally. It aint a NA vrs OZ thing, so stop making it out as such.

It aint like you need to wait 6 months for a new issue to come out after it was released in NA like you have to do with movies. Have a pint of Bundaberg and relax mate.

Time is an awesome set, but I don't like it for its -regen. Poison Trap is -1000% regen perma with 3 seconds overlap on my trapper. Its not a spike.

How is this right? If there was absolutely no way that NCSoft could do these shutdowns at a different time it would be a different story. However this isn't the case. NCSoft are taking money from money in a particular time zone with out using some of that extra money to look after that customer base. Even not spending that extra money there is nothing stopping them rolling the times through the normal eight hour business day as it is. Which spreads out the pain and makes it tolerable to all.

Now using the argument that it's a business and they should do the most economical / cheapest method is an invalid one. If you ignore the needs of even part of your customer base you risk either losing them and potentially damaging your reputation at the same time. When a customer of any business is paying for a service there is never any valid excuse for that customer to accept a lesser level of service than any other customer. They don't care that it's because they live in a certain spot. It boils down to they are paying for something they are not getting. If the company can't provide the exact same service in that location then they should adjust the price accordingly. Why is it because this is an MMO we are talking about that it is suddenly alright to charge a certain segment the same for less? I suspect it is because this issue actually doesnt affect you at all. And that a lot of you might not want to risk one of the shutdowns hitting you.

The Bottom Line: All we are asking for is some form of rolling schedule so we are not the only ones being constantly shut out of the game. Not a lot to ask for seeing as we too are full price paying customers too. You are getting extra profit for our corner of the globe how about spending some of it looking after us too.
I am not in OZ. The shutdowns affect me. I pay the same amount as you, actually possibly twice as much, and soon to be possibly three times as much. I am not spitting the dummy because it hits in the am while I play, and not in the pm's when I don't. I would wager a months playtime that there are more people in NA affected by the am shutdowns here than folks in Oz and NZ. Stop taking it personally mate.

Been about a week since been on beta. Did they change burnout to affect anything besides primary and secondary powers?
  13. Mephe's Fire/Fire tanker guide was just what I needed after giving up on my emp/psi defender.(Regular teaming partner at the time ditched me because didnt need me anymore after he got IH)

That was the last time I played any character that couldn't solo reasonably well.

So despite people kicking me from the team on my fire/fire tank because it was too squishy and no good for teams, I played on. Then I got burn. Then the same people that used to kick me wanted to be pled by me.

And I took them. Back then, it was the only way to get bigger spawns.

So thanks Mephe. Playing that toon kept me open minded to playing other less than ideal builds (I know, it sounds ridiculous, but back when he wrote that guide, fire/fire really was shunned)

Other than that, I would say I have been influenced by all of you, and many people who have never even been on the forums. Your idea's, good and bad, always make me think of new and interesting things to roll and ways to play them.
  14. It is amazing that some people here think they are being specifically targeted by the server maintenance downtimes. I would be willing to bet there are more people from around the rest of the world playing at these low population times than Aussies and Kiwi's combined. It affects my playtime constantly. I just don't take it personally.

I agree. However, why is exploit considered a dirty word? It isnt.

Lets take your point a step further and say that using any knowledge you have about the game and using it to your advantage is exploitive to some degree. I dont think there is anything wrong with employing the greatest possible advantage of your strengths to the mobs most obvious weakness. If that is wrong, why use anything but brawl. To say leveraging your stengths it is not fair, and gives an undue advantage, I say read Sun Tzu. We as a species have been doing it for far longer than computer games have been around.

Doing it from under the map, where the mob can't actually touch you is an unethical exploit. Standing in the middle of the spawn getting hit while you do your thing is not. If one cant tell the difference between the two, one has bigger problems than worrying about who is getting xp faster.

My point is that exploiting is not as dirty of a word as it is made out to be by some folks. In fact, once upon a time, it was considered smart gaming.

"farming is boring" bugs people enough that I tend to have shorter problems

I suppose I can be considered bitter with regards to bad experiences with the idiots out there
Is this a pre or post Super Side Kick experience? I only ask because I cant remember the last time I received a random tell of this nature.

What hate? Are you saying that the devs are specifically targeting people? Actually, I remove myself from this conversation. This is like blaming the nike store for not being open for 24 hours and they are targeting people that cant sleep at night. How much dumber can a position get?
  18. As someone who has lived in both NA and Oz, I say dont spread the hate, thats a ****** thing to say.

Really, you don't see how a hp capped tank with stupid regen, softcapped defence and capped resistances that can keep at least an aggro cap worth of mobs focused on him so the bots can do their thing might be unbalanced? These are bots we are talking about. Have you seen incindiary missles hit a bunched up spawn of 17 mobs? Think 17 burn patches going off at once mate. You wouldnt need to pull out any bot besides the assault bot.

    50's Woes!

Take a break, or drastically change the way you play, either by doing the hardcore thing, or just trying out a completely different playstyle.

Try a big game hunter, or a massive aoe death machine, or something melee if you are predominately ranged. Even if they are incarnated up, the playstyle will be drastically different.

That said, if you are logging in, and just can't pick out what to play, or figure out something fun to roll because the wall of meh is in the way, take a break and read a book or something. The itch to play again will happen sooner rather than later.

People who have experience with the game should be able to take a lvl 1 to anywhere in the game without dying or annoyance. (Hollows run anyone?) It is also way easier now that all the train stations are joined.

A fresh new player just logged in will have to traverse some distance rather than save the world by clicking bombs.

In the end, I dont believe it will make that much of a difference. Path of least resistance is path of least resistance.
