I've been inside a mission sidekicking another hero (but it said he was getting lackey'd for some reason).
When I started the mission I was 38.13% into my "4 hour" mentoring badge and I also checked the SG mentor badge.
3 hours later it's still 38.13% and the SG mentor badge hasn't moved either.
I can think of 2 reasons: The alt doing the mentoring is XP pacted with another alt and this is the sort of delay we got witht the xp before? ...or it's broken.
Now just to clarify things: I did move away from the entrance, we've been taking out 1 mob every 15 minutes or so and haven't gone AFK. -
Two player team getting bosses on low diff, 4 player teams on inv not getting bosses at all...
...I'd say something's slightly (insert generic strange word) here...
Edit: I just did a regular paper mission on 3rd diff, two man team:
Not a single minion, not a single liut, just pariah bosses (Lost glowie mission) one in each "mob" (that is, one lone poor sucker in every room) -
I'll try to get the full fire/rad team to take a break (we should all be lvl 50 by then anyway) and do some hot dance moves!
Also, this post should probably be in defiant heroes instead, especially since villains aren't invited. Next time, I suggest Pocket D!
I suggest we dedicate the video to Ghostraptor & Crew due to the latest news. -
Indeed!
Greatly appreciated! Hope you're all gonna be ok and find a great job. Hope you all will have to deal with us again in another great MMO!
We'll try to be kind and sensible to A. We'll try... -
A few patches down the line bosses seemed to almost disappear. Several of us reacted to that.
Now, I hardly play the game anymore, so I'm not totally sure about what it's like after the last patch, but I've tried several different constellations from 2 man low diff radio missions all the way to 8 man relentless/inv. contact missions and it still seems very very hard to get the amount of bosses we used to have.
I might be wrong and it might be intentionally from the devs. if I'm wrong or just unlucky, fine.
If not: With the game turning rediculously easy I guess it's one way of slowing down levelling, but what was the point with the "new" xp curve then? Simply put, it's dead boring to play the game when you solo or play small teams meeting almost no resistance at all, stumpling upon an EB every now and then. It's also somewhat inconsistent have such an easy ride then running into said EB getting PWND because you've stopped paying attention! -
Hmm, I'm pretty sure my really buffed energy/willpower brute is getting all the bonuses of his lvl 50 melee sets even when I'm doing ouroboros lvl 20 missions. The only restriction seems to be that - of course - the bonuses goes away because the powers wheren't slotted at that level, not because it's now slotted with a lvl 50 set. Anyway, it sure is a beast!
Point being: It **really* is confusing with some things supposedly not working when you're malf'ed, others supposedly working (but being bugged) and other things working just the way they're described and intended to work. -
Hmm, I'd better start checking the few pet-alts I have for some sets/proc's.
On the up'y side of things, with sets being bugged, this might be a good time to grab some on the market for future safekeeping. Oh, wait, most people haven't got a clue they're bugged! -
Oh, what a wonderful event this is, giving us good opportunities to up our post count.
Why don't we just stop specualting and wait as usual, because we're not gonna find out what's gonna happen until it actually happens because we ARE talking about NC. There's only two things we know:
1. We're not gonna be informed about what's happening
2. They will not care the slightest about us even if that's the best way of making sure we'll never ever play another NC game. (I never ever would anyway. I'll stick to the big or dedicated companies from now on)
If it does go down the, you know...
Good run, was fun, thanks for the fish and cya at the end of the multiverse. -
On the marketing note: Most of my SG mates are now playing that silly Travian web browser game and here's the funny part:
1. Wherever I go I see ads for that free (and f'coz low cost maintenance) game. Cheap banners on almost every game site I visit all the time, including swedish ones
2. This silly, pointless "game" seem to have more than 20.000 players on each server. Since they're restared every year that's 20.000 actual playing players.
As for NC, they pull a short, cheap market trick at the startup and then actually think the games will sell themselves. Yeah, right - and I'll find a gorgeous young woman today and... NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Those asians just don't know how to do things outside Asia. It's a very different market. ...and I just got a ghost tell, rofl! -
Bring on I15 before the game dies! Yes, D00m post!
After all, it's saturday! -
Ooh, friday and 75 pages of posts. No I didn't read all...
1. Remember Auto Assault?
2. Remember Tabula Rasa?
This company won't ever tell ya JACK! Doesn't stop me from still, mostly, loving the game.
Ok. I AM sad that people feel worried about their jobs, everyone, not just NC staff, but I agree with Shockwave and myself (last time around). Loosing the job is an opportunity to get yourself a better job that you wouldn't even try to find as long as you have a "safe" job. I bet most of the people from the last execution squad have jobs, even "better" jobs now. On a more cynical note, Yeah, I don't know these people and meeting people in WAY worse situations on a daily basis... sorry I can't *really* feel sad for them.
As for the game, well it's one of few things that brings in money to the company and Europe is a very important market, not for THIS game, but for gaming in general. I can't see NC abandoning us completely. Then again, NC never ever seem to make sense...
On the server side: Isn't the servers handled by an external company? Think someone told me they're in Germany or something (during a crisis when NC tech and the server techs where arguing about where the problem was, sort of, according to highly classified rumour mills, sort of, you now, like.. erhm, well...)
Anyway, Never had any lag states-side, often loads of lag to the always-raining-islands-that-doesn't-quite-wanna-be-part-of-Euope. Bring it on, virtual server taking a fraction of any of the US server must be better than the current lag-fest!
Oh, didn't play the fire/rads today and..hmm, yup..
...I'm not erhm...quite... sober! Feels good!
Now, regular one-liner zen master, go on, spam the thread with more pointless arguing without substance while I get some sleep and play all week because, yes indeed, I'm free all week!
Godd.. was that good for you? It sure was for me. Encore milady, encore! -
Weeeell...
...they forgot to feed the haaammpsteers!
I think it's time to sacrifice some kittenz!
(Oh, and yeah, it's bad villain side too) -
I thought the free-to-play was very time limited, that they'd close the game totally pretty soon. Am I wrong?
Rather tired of everything at the moment, so would be fun to give it a go, unless it's about to shut down totally pretty soon. -
...and nothing about it in todays patch either...
...to be continued! -
lol, just get my 30 tanker into a mish and leave overnight, not a big deal for someone that got both the last damage and heal badge on his villain!
On another note, patch today, took an eternity to apply, so... cya whenever, wherever! -
Monday morning and this thread now has 13 pages!
Only on weekends folks, only on weekends...
...my way of reminding people of my first post in this thread: Stay away from the forum during weekends, there's always an epic, soon-to-(pyssibly-)be-deleted-thread with loads of off-topic one-liners that brings absolutely nothing to the original discussion, and usually bating people to write something that might result in a (temp) forum ban.
I don't think the problem (elitism) is a major problem in-game, CoX, especially villain side, is very friendly compared to other games I've tried and even with the low amount of players it's way easier to get into a nice team than in other games. The forum however...
...it's gotten better lately imho, the flames have been fewer and toned down, but we're not the most tolerant bunch of people. Some people think it's forbidden to complain (NC/the game), others (like me) can't stop complaining, some people want server mergers and others don't... ...and noone seem to tolerate that others don't agree.
Worst thing is the people that don't like the original post or a good discussion, quickly ruining it with "humourous" posts and oneliners so noone can be bothered to plough through the thread. Old, very efficient technique and I truly hate it. -
Personally I'm not that bothered with the lack of new valentine content. Spend the day with someone you love instead for cryin' out loud!
I'd rather see some more activities like the Siren's invasion and other community events, real people caring about real people. Always got folks to log on.
A summer event wouldn't be bad either, even if I prefer the actual, real sun - it's just that we don't get to see it much over here.
...but IF NC is working on some awesome 5th anniversary content, I REALLY don't care much about valentine. It's acutally getting a bit boring to grind old stuff on new alts because it's still there and I MIGHT wanna use the cossie options. In a few alts time I'll prolly go ballistic because I can't get winter's gift, but...
Yet, I fear whatever cometh our way, I14, 5th anniversary (I15?), will cause me and many more to say "Meeeh, neeext!". Lagfixes, new gfx engine, bubble corrs, claw brutes, more high level content/TF/SF will go a long way, but most of us has prolly been here for too long. CoX has become an oool' friend of ours, like the wife...
...can't live with it, can't live without it! -

I say 6 Fire/Rad corruptors and 2 brutes would work quite well - in 'normal' missions you could try splitting into two sub teams meeting up only for AM. This might make killing groups more efficent and thus more xp/sec. If this wasn't the case it would rock as a full team, with each brute taking their turn for the alpha and waiting for the rad heals before going into the next group.
Rad debuffs are great but rad's best weapon is AM, you don't have to target friendlies to apply it and it effects many attributes. If there is time to slap on debuffs, in 'regular' teaming, then I suspect that you're not at your optimum speed.
Binding keys to target_custom_next <foe boss name> will also be a good tool to employ to save 'targeting time'.

Suggestion, do not split up... Use the rad toggle debuffs for herding (great for that btw), get the brutes to take the alpha and kill together. On most maps splitting up is a good way of slowing down this immensely, and increasing the usually rare team whipes. One rad can get 2-3 full mobs to follow him safely around a corner. BOOM!
Of course I personally prefer just jumping into the mobs, dragging them with me to the next mob pretending to be a tank. I also like the debt badges! -

At least 2 kins and 2 rads for speed and debuffs
[/ QUOTE ]What exactly would kins give when you could have 4 rads instead?
[/ QUOTE ]
With no pets, the kin speed boost is way superiour to AM unless you want the debuffs which, honestly, is useless in a superteam since even bosses go down faster than you can get the debuffs up. Four ice/kins will nuke the living daylight out of any map. Before the nuke they'll still tear through anything if they have two speed boost. Four AMs is as good, but that would take just that, four AMs constatly up, and for AM to be constantly up you need five rads, not four unless they're really well timed constantly.
I've been on several heroside fire/rad teams and even with a six man team there's annoyingly often a lack of AM, bringing people "out of sync".
So I'd much rather have two kins, a thermal (or PD) and something else (dark, ice, whatever) than 4 rads. But f'coz, everyone goes for leadership pool anyway. Two rads would still be good for the AVs, AoE heal, maybe some herding to speed things up etc, but the AM wouldn't be the major reason to bring them. -
Yeah, was a good run...
Taking Romulus down the first time took a bit longer than usual, but the rest was quite fast especially if you count the pauses we had as well...
I think we can shave the time down to 1.20 probably if we only kill what's necessary and go for speed.
I'm pretty much up for anything this evening, except STF (that one will prolly take some planning and probably a tanker if we're not gonna go insane), but I suggest we go for lvl 50 first and then go back for the lower lvl TFs.
Until I14 or more likely I15 I don't have much else to do, so I'm in it for as long as it lasts. I'd love to see this babe purp'd up just to see how much recharge/end I can cram out of it.
Might be a good idea to see if we can use skype as well if we're going for more TFs. Usually makes for a smoother and faster ride. -
As usual I bet there was no official response... sigh... I think we're paying too much for what we're getting nowadays!
Hope to see you all later today. Any fire rad/kins on this evening might try to find us. We're lvl 46'ish now, beginning in RWZ at 6 pm. I think we'll have a couple of spots open. (Probably taking anyone 43+ really) -
Anyone seem anything new about it yet?
I just had to stop playing because I almost broke my monitor trying to run my fist through it.
...did get 2 more badges today though, so I guess I should change my sig to 521 badges... ...nah! -
It is a bug, and that's why they put in the /sync command, but EU side they're completely refusing to admit that.
The bug IS related to lag though and that MIGHT be your ISP, but usually it happens to a lot of players at the same time, no matter what ISP they have.
I had some serious arguments with the tech's and even GR about it about a year ago (methink) edning up in discussions about the ISPs using cheap/free services themselves even though it was confirmed my ISP most definitely didn't fall into that category making me wonder if it's actually NC using a cheap ISP that's using cheap services themselves.
I'm just glad they put in the /sync command, knowing that internet is internet and it's pretty (cencored) at times. The problems usually goes away after a week or two, so there's just one choise: Hang in there, grind your teeth, keep breathing and... wait... -
I WOULD go for an all corr team:
I'd just go for ice or fire as primaries (great AoE and nukes)
At least 2 kins and 2 rads for speed and debuffs
Maybe one or two darks for some stealth/defense and a healer or two (thermal or paindom)
A good brute as filler, maybe even a dominator for some holds would be nice. MM could work as brute, but those pets get annoying in full teams rather fast.
...but you seem to have a team going, and really, any corrs will rock as long as you keep the team going. Have fun.
That's the one thing I didn't get with the original post: corrs are the big thing villain side. Yes MM's, brutes etc are very soloable, but corrs are absolutely necessary.
