Why would you REPLACE already made zones and content just because some are tired of it and used it, with brand new content?
Wouldn't it be more cost effective to add and expand on content than replace? -
Quote:Curious if there are other old farts out there like me.
I am 60 years old, and have loved comics and superheroes since I read my first Superman comic during the Silver Age in the 1950s and watched George Reeves on TV. And in the 60s, I got to see comics evolve firsthand as Stan Lee brought "real" people into the mix. All in color. All for a dime.
Other than a lifelong love affair with comics (and Star Trek, Sci-Fi and Comic Book movies), I have lived a "regular" life. College-educated. Married. Good family life. Terrific white-collar job.
Anyone else out there like me? Or am I as odd as I sometimes think I am?
I'm only 25 but I have a member of my SG that is 60 something. I think 63 he said, but that was a year or more ago when he told me.
So you aren't alone. :P -
Sorry this took so long to post. I needed to edit for Bio and life, as always, gets in the way.
http://www.justiceknights.net/comic/bio.html
I still need to edit what Bio did for the third chapter. But I'll post it up as soon as I can.
Enjoy.

If you believe the means are justified by the ends then you might be a villain.
-
So I just read his bio. I easily see where this is going.
Either A: Cole eventually gives Calvin an offer to betray the resistance in exchange for giving him his wife back and a full pardon. Meaning Scott will end up being an enemy.
Or B: Scott eventually gets his wife back but finds out that she really did volunteer for it and that he realizes this entire time he was fighting his own wife.
and possibly C: A combination of the two to add more of a twist.
PS> BACK DETAILS!!!! -
Does anyone else want to watch the Office after hearing the name Calvin Scott?

I can't seem to get any guns to appear for the swat guys. I've tried several different gun fx but none work. Can someone please help me find the correct fx command, please? -
I want her to check her pms. :P
Also, how about some back details? IE Sword scabbards, sheaths, quivers, backbacks, jetpacks and such. -
...sigh...
Good luck and godspeed. Any chance you'll be revealing what server you play on?
Also, can I have your stuff?
-Sin
P.S.> Back details???? :P -
Quote:Wasn't that in OC?There was an internet gaming cafe outside of Los Angeles that was the site of a Lineage II/CoH Meet & Greet before the Dave and Busters one.
I remember it because that was where I had my first Monster energy drink, although for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place.
I remember because I found a great flight deal at the last minute for 99 bucks. Flew from Tucson to LAX, had an SG mate that I never met before picked me up and we drove to the meet and greet.
After the gaming, they drove me back to LAX where I sat up all night until my flight the next morning.
It was all awesome. -
*cough* check your *cough* pm box *cough*

Quote:Either way you are attacking your enemy. It could be perceived as being a cosmetic look as to "how" or what type of damage but in the end you are pushing buttons. Not at all. A new power is not a cosmetic change; it affects your character's abilities and functionality within the game -- especially when considering that enhancement options can lead to variations in the power. New content is never just cosmetic; it provides new story and experience.
A costume part or color change is purely cosmetic. It's fun and I want more (lots more), but it doesn't change my character's abilities nor technically affect content or gameplay mechanics. That's why I tend to put it into the QoL category.
Wouldn't new enhancements or ways of attacking your enemies with new powers "improve" the game for you? Wouldn't it improve your quality of life/play?
At no point was there a connection between cosmetics or quality of life. Although they aren't mutually exclusive. Reworking a HUD may be improving its look but also the way its used. Generally QoL improvements do the latter moreso than the former, ie relisting the emotes menu, allowing you to add more power trays, moving around said power trays.
All more about how you are able to use the technical side of the game and nothing to do with cosmetic improvements to characters or powers. So my point by your logic is, that if you are to cross that line of the technical interface standpoint to include game features such as power customization and costume pieces then the line has already been crossed and anything and everything added or improved to the game is considered QoL.
Instead, so far at least its only been used to refer to improvements to the technical interface and controls.

So I was doing demorecordings and then editing for my comic when I mistyped something in the command and had a bit of a suprised.
I havn't seen anyone mention this so I am not sure if its just a "duh" type thing or if I happen to be the lucky idiot who blows the whistle.
Either way...
I typed the command /demorecord followed by the title "/demorecord p8f1c" only at the end I mistyped and it added a / (only the other way but I don't remember how to make this lolz) for it to be like this "/demorecord p8f1c\"
So what happened was it created the demo file "p8f1c" but it also created a folder titled "p8f1c" that it auto put it into that was under the client_demos folder.
Nothing really big but it does save time when organizing all my little demo files (which are nearing or are over a thousand by now).
Anyways, did everyone already know this already?

PS> Give me back details now!!! -
Biggest problem with the game today...
...no back details such as quivers, scabbards, jetpacks, backpacks and the like. -
Quote:I'm on board for a plethora of back details as well. I'd love jetpacks on some of my tech/armored flyers, military packs, quivers, and so forth. Count me in.
I've just always figured cosmetic items -- no matter how cool looking -- are quality of life since they don't impact gameplay mechanics. For example, power colorization is QoL, but 'way cool and makes different characters with the same powers "feel" different.
Semantics to be sure. For that reason, the comment struck me as humorous. No slight intended.
I think there is a bit of a spectrum here and of course personal perception is key. As I was typing that I was thinking where power customization falls and when looking at it, I consider it there in the middle between both.
Then again with your logic, even adding in a new power or content would "improve our quality of life". -

I'd actually like the Champions lore merged with ours. I like the idea of Paragon being in Rhodes Island and Millennium being in Detroit.
In theory they would work. They are far enough away where it doesn't really burn either lore. You would probably have to rework some of the lore for WWII but I don't think there is anything else big besides that.
Of course there is the Rikti Invasion but during that time, Millennium City was still being rebuilt and since it was still mostly rubble at that time, the Rikti could easily have avoided that area as it wasn't a major city or massively populated area.
Anyways, that's my two cents
P.S.> Give me back details now! >=d -
Quote:When I think of QoL improvements I think of the control system, all the HUDs and whatnot. Back Details, while it would improve my quality of gameplay greatly and allow me to make the War Witch/Apex comic I've been wanting to make (other comics available at justiceknights.net and cohcomicindex.com) it is more of a feature than a quality.I think I'm lost here. I'm fully up-to-date and love all the QoL improvements we've gotten. I think they're some of the best updates we've had (even without much new story content).
Sin_Stalker commented that he was tired of QoL improvements when we still don't have back details. I was finding humor in the idea that one could be tired of QoL improvements because he was lacking one particular QoL improvement (i.e., back details are QoL).
So when they list QoL, at least in the past, it's been updates to how you use your controls, view stuff and interact, not actual items or costume pieces or missions or powers or whatever else including Back Details.
-Sin
P.S> BACK DETAILS NOWWWW!!!! >=d -
I think with this content plus Going Rogue, I am going to be very happy. Much better than previous updates.
Hopefully once Going Rogue is up and bugs are fixed, they can get updates out quicker. I personally am getting tired of Quality of Life improvements being done when we still don't have BACK DETAILS!!!!
Give me BACK DETAILS!!! and I don't mean back-ne. -
Quote:So lame name aside, sorry I couldn't come up with anything cooler, my thinking is that we're really lacking for Natural based secondaries for blasters. So my suggestion is a martial arts style secondary combining powers from Martial Arts and Ninjitsu and styling the set after the Energy Manipulation secondary for blasters. In other words very much a blapper style secondary.
Obviously numbers for this set would need to be modified to match blaster damage and effects rather then a stalker or a scrapper. This set is also based on a conversation I had early on in Beta with a few other people in the beta testers channel, unfortunately I don't remember names.
And no I'm not asking for this right now, I'm just presenting the idea for consideration. I think having dual pistols now we really do need more blaster secondaries. And I would personally love something thats more natural and less tech then devices.
Feel free to flame as necessary ^_^ I'm allowed my pipe dreams!
Martial Manipulation
1 - Thunder Kick, Melee, Minor DMG(Smash), Foe Disorient
2 - Storm Kick, Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash)
4 - Focus Chi, Self +DMG, +To-Hit
10 - Crane Kick, Melee, High DMG(Smash), Foe Knockback
16 - Caltrops, Ranged (Location AoE), Minor DoT(Lethal), Foe -SPD, -Jump
20 - Cobra Strike, Melee, Minor DMG(Smash), Foe Disorient
28 - Smoke Flash, PBAoE, Foe Placate
35 - Blinding Powder, Ranged (Cone), Foe Sleep, Confuse, -To-Hit, -Perception
38 - Dragon's Tail, PBAoE, Moderate DMG(Smash), Foe Knockdown
Notes:- I considered a stealth power for this like Devices gets, but I don't know if its really fits thematically but it could be placed where Blinding Powder is.
- I also considered something more exotic for level 38, but I think Dragon's tail fits as long as the damage type is raised to meet the other Blaster secondary level 38 powers.
I like this but I disagree with the order of powers and a few other things but for the most part, I agree. -
Here is the original (which displays fine)

And here is the edited version where all I did was plop two more guys in.

WTF? -
Okay so apparently for others, they can edit a demo recorded file that takes place in a base and all is good for them. Well for some reason when I do this, the entire base dissapears and my guys are just hovering in sky...
I can;t figure out why this is happeneing, please help explain what I am doing wrong here.
