Quote:Sounds alot like my teammates in regular, actual play.A key element of many sidekick storylines is your ineptitude interfering with the actions of the real heroes, and nearly doing the villain's job for them.
"Your character levels up by screwing up," Bianco added. The goal as a sidekick is to mess things up just to the point of utter failure for the task at hand, but having the hero pull out a win in the end. The closer you get to failing, the better the end reward. -
Quote:If you have the +3% PvP IO (which isn't exactly readily available to everyone)Still, post BotZ nerf, my fire/shield/blaze will still sport 90% +recharge, good recovery and good regen. She will not however have as good DDR as she before, and overall values for recovery/regen/recharge are lower than they were before.
Bottom line: shield characters are still very powerful, and the BotZ nerf will reduce their effectiveness a little. -
Additionally, at level 50 an Elite Boss has around 5k hitpoints, an AV has 28k and a GM has 70k

Slot E-Fence for damage, use a Thunderstrike set (it's a very good attack).
Your attack chain will be Shriek, Scream, E-Fence. -
Quote:Yep, that's a valid suggestion too. Many think that EM Pulse is the best hold in the game. I've found that the -Recovery isn't that big a deal, especially on teams. I've fired it off while running RI and EF, and still have END left by the time the -Rec debuff has worn off.
You might consider that instead of Choking Cloud and use Lockdown.
And if you're worried about end you can always grab Power Sink from Elec Mastery -
Don't drop Aim, if you want to drop a power and pick up CC for the Lockdown set, drop Shout instead.

What's with this new team of devs and their obsession with long animations? it looks like resummoning fallen demons during combat is gonna take forever, that may be a little impractical. Other than that, the set looks pretty loaded with offense and damage, the "Fire Blast (or Melee)" version of Mastermind primaries, so to speak.
I'm looking forward to it *thumbs up* -
In my own experience, having ranged toons with high ranged/AoE defense is useful to solo most AVs and pretty much all GMs, but the moment you fight those key AVs (such as Positron and Antimatter) it pretty much becomes a DPS race: I have to kill you before one of your attacks touches me.
It's especially bad considering Positron has [Overcharge] (+def +hp godmode), and he's not the only defense-debuffing AV with a godmode (Mynx, Bobcat, Valkyrie and Silver Mantis, just to name a few) -
Quote:This.Any defense without nearly maxed debuff resistance will sometimes fail catastrophically. I agree with that. But the question should be asked: how often does that happen, and how fast?
It tends to happen pretty often and pretty fast, given how common def debuff ingame are (Malta, Council, Longbow, Arachnos, Carnies, Praetorians, etc. And that's just the level 50 game) -
Fun is a very subjective term, some of us have fun by playing sets that perform well. You've seen Statesman, Positron and Synapse ingame? have you seen what they can do? I don't want my toons to be second rollers compared to them, I want to be equal or greater, and I ain't accomplishing that with a weak set that looks pretty (and this philosophy isn't limited to the Tanker AT, applies to all).

GMs regen at 353hp/sec.
I'd guess Shield/Fire and Shield/Dark would be the best combos to solo even level AVs at 50 -
Quote:You have 8 "+6.25 recharge" bonuses in there, that's 3 too many according to the rule of 5.Alright, so not long ago I started to IO out my dominator. I was told that IO set bonuses would stack up to 5 times. Not a problem. This is what my sets look like as of right now:

Adding all the set bonuses up, I should have 58.75% increased Recharge. The power attributes panel is only putting me at 40%, though. That looks like 3 sets getting cut off, even though only two of them I have multiples of. Do the set bonuses stack only 5 times even if they're not from the same set but give the same bonus? (i.e. the 6.25% "Large" recharge)
Would I have to stack Large, Medium, and Small bonuses then?
Where did I mess up? Or does the game just not like me?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Here's a tip: slot Kinetic Crash in Levitate (for 7.5% recharge) and get the confuse and sleep purple sets (for +20% recharge), they tend to be "cheap" -
Quote:I'm actually basing my pesimism on recent precedents (ie Dual Pistols), since it seems to be the same team of developers working on these recent sets we've gotten. I think the last decent set that came out was Dual Blades, where they just about got it right in terms of flashiness/usefulness.Basing all that pessimism entirely on a 40 second video clip, or do you actually know what powers 1-9 will look like when this goes live?
I know nothing yet though, that's why the keywords on my original post were probably and suspect. I'd love to be wrong on this one. -

Low animations probably means low DPA. I suspect it's gonna suck almost as much as Dual Pistols.

Long animations probably means low DPA attacks. I'm suspecting it's gonna suck almost as much as Dual Pistols.

Gonna be a huge hit to my Blaster and Dom, but I already made "nerfed" versions of my builds in mids so I will (be forced to) survive.

And you judge the usefulness of taunt based on a level 8 MM with no slots or SO's...

If by overpowered you mean gimped, then yes.

Storm is indeed pretty heavy on damage, you'll do just fine.
