Incorrect. Recent patch has upped power burst range to about half of power blast's. With my power burst currently slotted with 3 dam/range HOs it has roughly similar range as power blast.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, I didn't have it due to it's short range, might respec it in now.

Heh, so you really had missed the whole 20 yarders changed to 40 yarders with blasters, defenders, corrupters and dominators?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've left Weasel's build as it was because it worked. Don't tend to go for UBERBUILDZORS!

  3. 1) Normal Vanilla Accuracy will give you about 70% hit rate (From experience), 1 SO will push that up to 85%. If you're trying to get Purple Cons, you're gonna have to boost that a bit, whether by Buff or Inspire.

1 SO will give you around 80% on a normal mission. Up to you if you NEED that extra; but you're only going to be adding 5-10% for each extra SO.

    2) Heal Other. Purely because you're a Blaster and the only time you should ever be looking out for others status is when you're blasting threats away. Stimulant will work if you're acting as a Defender, but most of the time you'll be working on Direct Attack; which keeps you well away from the rest of the others.

    3) Power Push: Almost useless. Specifically a panic button.

    4) PB : All melee attacks
Close : Two body lengths : Power Burst, Nova
Medium : Five lengths : Energy Torrent
Long : Ten body lengths : Explosive Blast, Power Bolt, Power Blast.
Extreme : Fifteen body lengths : Snipe

    (Rough figures)

    Well, Almost
  6. Can we have a clarification here Bridger, does the piece of work have to be on the Creative Forums or can it be in a more suitable area of the board? Given all other restraints of course.

What i don't understand is the following... If you were hit with a bolt of electricity (Assuming you were a superhero of some sort) would you not assume it would stun you opposed to putting you to sleep? I feel the dev's need to re-think that one a little...

[Warning: Do not try this at home kids]
Undoing a Televison socket that was still live taught me about this. It freezes up all your muscles as if you were asleep until the connection is broken. THEN it hurts like hell. Sleep's the best way of describing that.
  8. Indeed, hope it all works out for you Pantocrator. If you're looking for ingame work on the state of the Russians in Paragon, I'd suggest looking at Numina and the Red Terror. Red Tomax's site at nofuture.org has some good information.

    Bye Bye

    TTFN AM.

Keep on Truc- I mean posting.
  10. Nopers, KB % is actually the % chance of causing a Knockback effect. The Knockback caused is based on the Enemy Type usually. Cogs fly, Humans move, Big Stompy Robots fall over.
  11. A big part of the guide should state your partner(s) should be aware that a lot of the time you will not appear to be doing anything. Summoning/Buffing and general action takes a lot longer when you're watching it: Especially if you've got some on Bodyguard and Mr. Brute is stealing all the agro, so as not to 'wake' them.

    Ninja/Dark build

Apart from getting some Endrecs into KIZ at 33, no problems here

Might want an extra Jump/End on SJ but that's it.

    bodyguard

Almost always, which is why effects that make pets run away from you, like a distance attack; or move you away from your pets, like KB; are so dangerous.
  14. Mr Normal has done it with 27 minutes remaining after completely all 3 side missions in Talos.
  15. Please remember this is only my way of doing it. I'm slightly manic in my way of play.

The lower level powers are very accurate but only have a (?) 50% chance of causing KB; different effects.

You can also cause the KD effect by firing down from a balcony and possibly even mid jump; though I'm not too sure on that. Hover alone is quite useful for forcing enemies to missile instead of a lot of damaging melee.

The KB bits are largely from experience; any strong KB will force them almost to snipe distance. Weak KB or resisted will only go a short distance. So those slots can be better used elsewhere. KB on powerpunch can probably take 2 coz the damage is a bit naff.

For KB resistance it's a little of both, Purple mobs will be more resistant and certain enemies are totally resistant (AV/EB's mostly). Bladegrass (DE) and Snaptooth(Redcaps) are very unresistant though. Even Kronos Titans can be slapped down.

Taking damage doesn't automatically mean KB will kick in; I think only Powerpunch will automatically KB, but it can still be resisted by shields. Other powers basically have a chance of KB'ing if they cause damage, and usually LTs/Bosses have a better chance of absorbing KB.

KB striking Aerial foes will usually cause them to backflip in the air; slightly less animation and thus 'stun' times. It won't however KD or knock out of the sky though, unfortunately, hence Airsup being the best for that.

If I'm on at anytime, try @Silver Weasel and I might be free to come along and show you

I gather the usual method is:
    1. Run to bank in hide mode.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't run straight to the bank that will just trigger all the ambushes at once (who as you yourself pointed out sees straight thru your stealth).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd beg to differ. Run straight into the bank and drag all the ambushes behind you. Find a nice quiet spot and let them take you down. Then all the ambushes are in one safe out of the way place and you can do the mission with ease.

Not strictly legal, but then, you're a villain

    Ninja/Poison

Possibly to many THB's in Tactics, and your Patron might give you some better powers; but a good solid, and fun, build
  18. On the other hand.

Weasel got to 50 and solo'ed a long way on Invincible.

    KB is great if
    a) You're not in a team
    b) You can rely on it
    c) You use it sparingly.

    Being Energy/Energy/Force; here's my tips.

Only use it for attacks that are almost guaranteed hits (Torrent/Nova/Explosive Blast/Power Push); Power Bolt/Blast/Burst/Snipe don't give it enough chance to be worthwhile.

Hit those people against objects if you can; your Defender/Controller will love you; Tanks & Scrappers hate you for this.

Learn that KB from above means KD. Very useful for all.

Don't slot more than one KB to a power; unless punting cogs [Even without ED, the increase is minimal over the initial; think it's something like half a second extra per slot]

Whilst you may LOVE the KB, others don't; so use it sparingly.

The other thing is that KB is one of the few secondaries that don't work at ALL against a number of higher mobs; so over-reliance on it will get you dead.

If you're up against something really hard; Powerpush (Knockback), Airsup (Knockdown), Total Focus (Disorient), Torrent (Knock back), Punch, Power Bolt will finish most opponents with almost no chance of them hitting you back.

I'd keep Brawl on auto though, as it's rapid speed means that if you do KB from PB range, you automatically score a Brawl against them as well.

[BTW, beat my record of 400 yards for a Cog punt ...No verticals allowed .]

    Ninja/Poison

    Ow Aurrius.

Slot some Disorient/Slow/Immob into your Ninjas. Endrec to fly. Drop some THB from Assault(really minimal adds); possibly drop Vengenace (Doesn't work on dead henchies)
  20. Silver_Weasel

    Ninja/Poison

Best work round I've found is to bullrush the mobs with Genin on Bodyguard and Jounin/Oni on Aggressive.

On heavy mobs, the Oni will start Circle/Rain whilst the Jounin will Wrist Arrow before closing for the Sword strokes. Genin's will stand ready until you're attacked, absorb the alpha and then punch out Disorients.

On normal mobs, you may want to use Zaprobo's keybinds to send them to a specific space on agressive. One key press and a mouse click will send them up close and personal.

In PvP however, you'll actually want the Ninja's performing a mixture of Range/Close to keep the Bodyguard up and Different attacks coming in. MZ already has spoken about a Smokebombed Oni's Lavabreath; and Jounin only tend to throw Caltrops from a distance.

Ninja's are a lot more challenging to play with rather than Stomping Zombies or Blasting Robots/Mercs/Thugs; but they're also challenging to fight against.

Your main worries are going to be Ranged AoE, which makes then drop bodyguard; TP Foe, for the obvious reason; and travelling (Try getting onto Agincourt without getting cut to ribbons).

Soloutions to this are : Have Follow Me on button or Macro.
Take out anyone you see in the TP anim or drop some oranges,
    Move fast and stealthy.
  21. Silver_Weasel

    Ninja/Poison

You can work well without Stamina; it's just you're going to have to be judicial about your buffs/debuffs or keep some Blues spare

Mr Normal doesn't have Stamina and he's still rather feared.
  22. Silver_Weasel

    Ninja/Poison

It's a valid tactic but it takes a LOT of work to pull off properly.

For Mastery of it, you need to have the guys on Follow/Defensive (Bodyguard) and have them near you. Then activate Group Fly and fly fast across the map (This is draining and slow); then you lock your target, get overhead, detoggle GF and use an immobilizing/weakening attack on your opponent. He automatically turns on you, just as the Paratroops get in and hit Bodyguard; before slamming him hard; usually from PB so the Genin can start Criticalling.

It's a lot easier with Group Teleport and Teleport does give you the added protection against Immob; but it's also murder in Sirens etc. as TP tends to fail.

TP Foe into Ninjas does work well though; and it's also the main way you're going to be ganked. ALWAYS keep an eye out for the TP Foe animation and kill that sucker quick.

Main thing to remember is you work best when hitting people from Stationary, especially if they can't move.

Locate, Debuff, and Annoy whilst your Men do their stuff, Grasshopper
  23. Silver_Weasel

    Ninja/Poison

Can't help on the Poison but here's my recommendations for Ninjas.

    Genin 2xAcc, 3xDam, Disorient
    Jounin 2xAcc, 3xDam, Slow
    Oni 2xAcc,3xDam, Immob/Hold

Ninja's real advantage above the other pets is it's soft controls (Added Secondary Effects with hits); you may want to even drop to 2xA,2XD,2xSecondary.

Try and fit an extra Endrec into KuJi In Zen as well, it's a real drain without Stamina.

Fly may not be your best way to go,(especially as 1 Fly Speed makes you slightly slower than a C5) can be defeated easily and isn't how your Ninja's travel; I'd go for SJ (Acro for resists) or SS (Stealth and running)

Leadership is one of those love/hate powers. In PvP it will be invaluable (I'd only grab Assault/Tactics), but again, big End drains.

The other real thing is to seriously consider Stamina. If you're going to go the route of buffing/debuffing; you're going to need a way of rebuilding/not losing as much END quickly. Masterminds who perform a lot of legwork really lose Endurance very fast.

Otherwise, have half of your Inspiration box dedicated to Blues.
