Quote:Ah, you're correct. My bad, I'd chuck it in Suppression then. My preference for the Achilles proc is because I generally open with Venom Nade and Suppression for mass -resist.You can't put it in Venade. :| My inclination towards the LGrey proc is that the achilles heel proc works best on a creature that's going to survive another hit, or maybe another two hits - whereas the AOE damage procs might shove it an extra third...? Ah, I dunno. It's something of a math question. The concepts are solid in my mind but I'm not sure I'm expressing it.
The way I figure it, Crabs have plenty of AoE (and your duo will too) so the chance for added debuff is worth more than an additional damage proc.
Quote:I wasn't super-set on GW except in that I know Gloom is very, very good for ST. With a pile of AoEs, ST is handy to have. I also want to avoid redraw, because I am a snob.
I don't think I ever really used the mace blast(s), they were just set mules and prereqs for the pet.
Quote:Remember that I'm gunna have a teammate here, a shield/macer - he's already high defence, so I don't need to push him all the way up with doubles.
How's the end consumption on dubs assault/maneuvers?
I dunno what the end consumption is on running double A/M but it's very manageable.
Double A/M is fantastic for teams in general, so just think of your mini army of pets as the rest of your teamThey benefit greatly from the added defense and damage.

I've not done a /Pain duo, but in terms of general tips:
What could be awesome is if you take Veng and the rez on both chars. That way if one of them dies, the other becomes supercharged and rezzes them at the same time.
If you're mainly duoing, it'd probably be best to alternate the Anguishing Cries so you're using one every spawn.
Unfortunately, unlike Adrenaline Boost Painbringer doesn't have a +rech component so you'll need a fair bit of recharge slotting and global recharge to make it perma on each other.
That said, as you've noted with Painbringer, double WoP and Enforced Morale you'll both be really sturdy. -
Quote:While it is true that the procs can only go off once every 10s and those 10s checks could well occur while running between spawns or whatever, it basically boils down to the fact that with FS you can easily cap the damage on Hot Feet. Not sure where my loyalties lie in the "proc or not to proc" debate. Thinking about it more from a matter of time spent per spawn group, aren't most farm spawn groups dead in 10-20 seconds? This would only let each proc fire twice and that is IF it hits (20% chance for most, 33% for some).
That said, what is the damage like? Does someone have rough numbers in terms of what is base HF damage, capped (via FS) HF damage, and what is average proc damage (assuming it hits)? I realize this will vary depending on mob type and relative con level, but I'm just interested in a rough estimation. Thanks.

At that point, the only way to eke out more damage is with procs. The only thing you're missing out on for the Hot Feet proc-crazy slotting is acc and end rdx. Acc can be made up with global bonuses and end rdx isn't a huge deal with Transference. -
I can't check out the build in-depth atm but just eyeballing it (as requested
) I've noticed a few minor things.
I'd drop the LG damage proc from Suppression and put in an Achilles proc. Or in Venom Nade, whichever your preference.
Try to fit in the Leadership pool if you can. Double Maneuvers + double Assault = hooray. Good for you, good for your pets, good for the team. Smiles all round. I tend to think of Crabs as a mobile support/fire platform. Massive AoEs and -res debuffs, buffs for the team and the pets. You can afford to run the Leadership toggles due to Conditioning making +end and +rec that much more effective.
How set are you on GW for your Patron? I ask because if you're going the pet route with your Crab, the third pet is an awesome addition to your arsenal. The AoE blast having KB and redraw is a pain, but tbh you've got more than enough AoE hurt in your primary.
Hope that helps, I'll try to take a look at the build more thoroughly later on. -
A Brute only needs to 'tank' insofar as taking alphas because that's the most effective way to build Fury.
A good Brute is going to have the aggro of most, if not all, of a spawn anyway because they're running in, dropping their AoEs which have punchvoke and running their Taunt auras (either for damage or survivability). They do this because a) as above, aggro = MOAR FURY and b) because Brutes are a damage AT.
Anything worth 'tanking' like AVs or whatever is going to be 'tanked' by the Brute punching it in the face.
Also lol at you saying you run in with your Dom, use an AoE immob, get the aggro of the entire spawn and promptly die. That's like the archetypal example of a bad Controller or Dom. -
Quote:Heh, I was gonna come in here and shamelessly plug my Traps guide. Dankeschön
For further info re: secondaries, if you don't want redraw I'd recommend Ice or Rad. Both have pretty good AoEs which is good for Traps/ as well as reliable ST mitigation which Traps lacks.
Traps provides whole-spawn mitigation, then unload your AoEs and use Cosmic Burst/Freeze Ray to take out troublesome Lts/bosses.
Dark is also decentish (self heal is nice) but the AoEs are cones which is a little counterproductive to Traps' toebombing nature. You'd be doing a lot of hopping in and out of spawns. That said, the -tohit combined with the +def of the FFG would give you a lot of safety for toebombing with Trip Mine. -

Congrats guys, sorry I wasn't able to make it. Ended up passing out at about 11pm

Quote:You can overpower the PTOD if you stack enough hold Mag. It's 50+ IIRC.I'm not trying to knock the build, or the idea.
I just thought that it wasn't possible to perma-hold, which is different than soloing an AV. The "PTOD" grants AVs periodic immunity to holds, doesn't it? *runs off to ParagonWiki*
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/PTOD
So, in theory yes you can perma-hold an AV when the PTOD isn't cycling. But as a point of clarification, the PTOD does not defend against sleep. When I hear "perma-hold" I expect to bypass the PTOD and permanently lock down an AV as a result...
Is that actually possible? I'll be rethinking my gameplan vs AVs if you're implying that overcoming the PTOD is a reality. And I'll stand corrected too, because that is awesome.
You need enough recharge for permadom, well slotted ST hold and having a fast-animating hold (Fire and Mind) helps too. -
I have thought about it a good few times. Lots of team defense, -res and decent ST and AoE damage. I may get around to it sometime.

Thermal > Crab > Brute
Assuming all built and played equally well. -
Damn dude, your screen looks like a WoW raiders screen :O

If someone wanted the best all-round Corr(s) I'd have to recommend the following:
Fire/Cold
Rad or Sonic/Therm
Fire or Rad/Kin -
So with the pet peeves thread I thought it'd be cool to get another positives thread going.
To get the ball rolling:- When a Kin refills my end bar with Tranference a second or two after I nuke.
- That all the fastest TFs I've been on have just been a bunch of friends running it and just going really fast as opposed to some hyper-organized min-maxed team.
- Blaze
- Irradiate and Irradiate Scourging
- Heat Loss and Blizzard...mmmm
- A really well-played Thermal

Quote:The Monument of Iron is fantastic though.I hope its more difficult then it was before. I think we spent maybe 30 minutes of major phail before finally figuring it out and getting our first IOP moments later. For a 2% buff for the ENTIRE SG that isn't nearly hard enough IMHO.
Mez protection for squishies? Do want. -
Quote:That's a really clever idea and could still work with non DA Tanks as long as they're /EM, you'd just need more.I did have a small chat Amy and my idea on this. I considered using stuns instead of holds on the green mitos which should still drop his shield. My idea was to use 3-4 Dark/Energy tanks to lay down rapid stuns on the greens. Between the stun aura from dark and the stuns from energy and the much lower stun protection the greens have I believe it'd be easier way to go...you just have to find 3-4 Dark/Energy tanks... just tossing out an idea.
How much stun protection do the Greens have?
It's certainly interesting to think about. People use holds to take out the Greens but it's not like Controllers/Doms have ST stuns they can spam, just holds. -
You don't think anyone would have noticed if Hami could blast the Mitos given the size of his AoE? Especially given evacless raids?
Edit: I should clarify my thoughts on this. While I think its a neat idea (especially because of utilising the invisi-Mito-platforms) it's not going to work. I don't think trying to reinvent the wheel is the best way to go about this.
Now, if I'm wrong and Hami can damage the Mitos without being confused or vice versa I shall locate my nearest chapeau and consume it post haste. -
