Quote:He's talking secondaries.Fire / Sonic would be just a tad bit end heavy. Rad would probably be a better fit there.
I'd recommend Ice, Rad and Sonic. Ice because its generally great and Tar Patch + Ice Storm + Blizzard = win. Rad because its an all round strong set and brings lots of -def, the debuff most lacking in /Dark.
Sonic is a very solid set and great for teaming and soloing, but its very single target based. Since Dark is fantastic about neutering big spawns and prepping them for nukage, I think its a bit of a shame to go with a set lacking in good AoE. -

So your suggestion to replace PERC is yet another committee?
In my opinion, another committee or event group isn't the answer. It often ends up detracting from the original goal, (events for Champion by Champion), by adding another layer to get through. It also then differentiates between x events (x being whatever the group is called) and events run by individuals. I don't think that's good.
I don't think what adorable name the group has matters, or what the motto is, or whatever. I don't think there should even be a group that formalized. I get it, some people like committees. Status and recognition, I get it.
What I think is important is that there is a support framework in place for events. So that anyone can come and say "I've got an idea for an event but I'd like help running it". I think the framework should be just that, a framework. Not an organization, not a committe, just a bunch of people who will help run events or run events as needed.
I think what would be best is that if someone really wanted to help events for the server, then they just put their name forward as someone to talk to for events. So if someone asks "hey I want to run an event but I've got questions/would like some help" people can say "chill ****, talk to @SuperpantsMcFly or @Ultrafabulous" or they themselves can volunteer as willing.
The primary focus should be the events, not the organization that runs them. -

Force of Habit would actually be a pretty good name.

Honestly, if you want to make the most offensively and defensively out of Kinetics, make a Corr.
Corruptors have a higher damage cap so they can make better use of abilty to trivially cap your damage with Kinetics. For defense you can take the Scorpion Shield to get smashing/lethal defense.
If you're used to having holds, I'd recommend going Rad. It's not as damaging as Fire, but you've got a very solid ST mez in Cosmic Burst. Sonic would also work well for the same reason, but Sonic is more team-supporty (increase the teams damage via -res) whereas Rad is more straightup damage from you. -

Mary Deluce, An interesting point. Especially since when I think about it, the vast majority of my global friends have namesake characters.
For me personally, I didn't actually try to make a character called just Silas for ages. My first Silas (and first 50) was a D3 called Silas Midnight. Even if it weren't taken, I haven't a clue what kind of character I'd make it.
Hell, I've got more non-Silas characters than Silas characters. I've only kept Banefire and Darkstar because I quite like them. I had several other Silas x characters but since renamed them to stuff I think is cooler, more creative and interesting.
A lot of the people who have namesake characters have a global that's a noun, title or well, more superheroic/fantasy name. Silas is just a name
AngieB, Vixens, vixens. Vixens everywhere. -
I use purples for massive recharge and recovery. Nowadays usually to get as much recharge and recovery as I can on softcapped builds. I'm a recharge addict, I couldn't settle for softcapped defenses and 40-5o% defense, so I need as much recharge per slot as I can get. Purples fit that bill perfectly.
Slightly more on topic, purples or set IOs offer some stuff that Incarnate abilities can't touch. Incarnate abilities alone won't softcap a squishy (so far, at least) and they sure as hell can't give you 90+% recharge.

This is absurd, plenty of Brutes can solo AVs.

Sure', I'l bite
Page 1:
Page 2:
Page 1 is my characters I play all the time. Starting with my SS/FA Brute (largely an agricultural tool), Fire/Dark Corr, Rad/Kin Corr, Rad/Therm Corr, my Fortunata, Fire/Sonic Corr, Arch/TA Corr (soon to be replaced), Fire/Pain Corr, Ice/Storm Corr, Fire/Traps Corr, Fire/Rad Corr and my Ice/Cold Corr.
Corrscorrscorrscorrscorrs. God, they're beautiful.
Page 2 is half characters I play semi-often and half misfits who I've not bothered to shift off the server or nuke. My KM/SD Scrapper, Fire/Fire Dom, DM/Nin Stalker, Mind/Ice Dom are all on the good list. Helio is a Fire/TA who will replace Zaiteki if I ever bother to finish leveling him. The rest of the characters on that page (FM/DA Brute, Spine/Regen Scrapper, Fire/Psi Dom, Claw/WP Stalker) are all in various states of disarray.
Page 3 is characters I never play and probably never will again. My old Sonic/Rad Corr, my Soldier, DM/SD Brute, Fire/MM Blaster, Earth/Kin Controller and Mind/Elec Dom. All persona non grata and will be deleted or moved off the server when I can next be bothered :3
Edit: that's right, I broke your H-Scroll and I broke it hard. -
Hm. I'm normally a huge proponent of softcapping s/l on Corrs, I think you might still have some problems. I definitely like the almost-softcapped s/l defenses (will be functionally softcapped against basically everything once -tohit comes into play) but the end use is really, really high.
Your three AoEs still have barely any end rdx and 1.7end/sec consumption is massive without a way to get it back like Power Sink/Dark Consumption. Even cutting your toggles way down (turning off DN, SS, Assault) you're still burning just under 1.2 end/sec. Combined with the AoEs, I think you're going to have serious endurance problems.
The reason I personally went for Dark Mastery was for Soul Drain and Dark Consumption. Dark Consumption can help my end bar out in a pinch and Soul Drain is a great damage buff. Add into that the fact that the Dark Mastery Soul Drain still has the 120s recharge, you can get it down to having barely any downtime with high global recharge. Soul Transfer is just a nice bonus, really.
If you want to take a look, this is what I'm running now with i19:

Quote:Ill/Rads aren't able to solo GMs because they do a lot of damage. Ill/Rads are able to solo GMs because they can have indestructible pets that taunt, powerful -regen and other debuffs. In the grand scheme of things, Ill/Rads actually rank fairly low on the damage scale. They excel against AVs and GMs because the pets will focus their damage on the single target.Ill/rads do plenty of damage imho. I mean, if we didnt, then how do we solo GMs so easy? Gotta pump out plenty of damage (even with rad's -res and -regen) I say forget corruptor and stick with Ill/Rad.
Fire/Rad Corrs can solo GMs too. They do a lot of damage. -
Quote:You guys all thinking some crazy junkie was me because he spoke funny.Reminds me of that guy that came on vent one night and we all thought it was Silas.... until we realized it wasn't Silas >.>
I don't talk funny, I'm just English. I was born this way, you guys :C -
Yes, make a Corruptor. The damage difference between Defenders and Corrs solo might not be that big, but if you team at all the difference gets bigger. More importantly though, Corrs just feel more offensive.
