If you're at 24, you should have Fearsome Stare by now. If you hit that first after you jump out the mobs you should get better results. FS has a big -tohit debuff on it which will stack with DN and the fear lets you drop Tar Patch on 'em and hit insp at your leisure.
As for the chain KBing, why don't you buy a Karma -KB IO to chuck in Combat Jumping or Shadowfall? Shadowfall can also take a Steadfast -KB IO. They're really cheap and easy to get and one will solve 99% of your KB problems.
To mitigate the alpha strike, you can always try kiting when you drop DN. Run up with Superspeed/Shadowfall, back off to about where max range is, then try to move back as you cast DN then immediately zip to a corner. Or hit them with Fearsome Stare first, if you don't want to pull them. -
Haha, you really don't see the similarities? Some stuff is moved around, but damn. Anyway, I don't mind if you used my build to help you with yours, that's what I posted it for. If you didn't, well, that's one hell of a coincidence

Yeah, that works really well also with people spamming AoE heals like TG/Transfusion. It works fine, but I'd not recommend it for pugs :3

You're right, sticking with the team isn't the most effective way for some characters to kill as many critters as possible.
It's the most effective way for the team to kill as many critters as fast as possible. If you're not able to get an attack off before most stuff is dead, be faster. You may feel like you're contributing more if you're soloing spawns rather than dropping 1-2 attacks per spawn, but your damage and aggro capabilities are much better leveraged fighting with the team.
For your ITF example, if the team didn't seem to know what they were doing, you should have gone back down and helped them. Gone back, helped them clear whatever they were fighting and if you wanted to move on quickly say so in chat and get the team moving with you. -
He's got Hurl, though. Does his version not have -fly? I mean, if you're softcapped he might very well not hit you with it, just saying.
-
Technically it is maximizing them, but if they're already ED slotted from your enhancements, going Cardiac will only add a few % of resist which really isn't a big deal.
-
Achievement: I did stuff in a game
Disachievement: I posted about it -
I get why they added a new way to get the Incarnate stuff. My only objection is its yet another currency to get your Stuff. We've already got merits, A-merits, shards, TF Incarnate salvage and now Threads/Trial Incarnate salvage.
It's going to be very tedious if every new set of trials comes with yet another currency to get the stuff just to gate the content.
I think having some people buy all the shinies on day 1 is a small price to pay for not having several different currencies and ways to get the stuff. If someone wants to grind TFs or Trials for weeks to stockpile Threads of Shards, let 'em. People are gonna run the new content in droves anyway. -
Quote:Kinda. Thermal and Pain Dom are the only Corruptor secondaries with a strong non-enemy dependent ally heal (o2 is weaker than Soothe/Caut). It doesn't require a great deal of slots to make good and its an immensely useful power. I'd try and find room for it if you can. The +res shields reducing damage and the heal to replenish health lost is a good combo.Question:
1) Will I be frowned upon if I do not take cauterize? I know its a fairly nifty heal, but those slots could be spent elsewhere (Such as picking up Fire Breath for more cone/AoE action)
Quote:2) Is Musculature worth taking over Spiritual? Reasoning behind this is more damage is the enemy being defeated quicker, and more recharge is somewhat unneeded when the build is fully decked out.
Musculature...honestly, I wouldn't bother. You can get better benefits from the other Alphas.
Build One Feedback:
Haha, wow. That looks awfully familiarOne thing I would recommend which I've since changed in my build is dropping the second end rdx from Acrobatics. What I did was move it to N.Bomb because it'd save me far more endurance. With your build, what would concern me is the end use from your AoEs, unless you go Cardiac.
I think going Spiritual or Musculature with this build would result in pretty bad endurance issues. Other than that, I'd recommend putting a Stealth proc in Sprint or either of your travel powers. You don't need the -KB IOs with Acrobatics.
Build Two Feedback:
This one is also pretty good, but I'd change more about it. Warmth is definitely underslotted. While its not a massive heal, it is your only way to heal yourself and several others at a time. I'd put the Apocs in Blaze since its your best attack. Since Thermal is so busy, it's best to maximize your most powerful attack for when you throw it in the mix.
I'd swap the Forge and Aim slotting. Forge is more important to have good enhancement values on than Aim, since Aim recharges reasonably fast with global recharge but you want to throw out as much Forge as possible.
That said, I wouldn't go with the full Gaussians set for either power. It gives great positional defense, but you're going for s/l so you're only really getting 1.25% defense for 6 slots. Not a good deal. You'd be better off going with Rectified Reticles to make up the defense. Also only needs 2 slots and gives more s/l defense than the Gaussians.
Again, I'd worry about the endurance use of the AoEs without Cardiac. You can also drop the HO from CJ, its not needed to softcap you and those are pretty pricey. You'd be better off leaving CJ with just the LotG 7.5 and using the slot elsewhere.
So in general, I prefer the first build. Move the shiny stuff to the first build and make a few tweaks, then go with that, heh. Hope that helps -
We just did this again last night, got Synchronized at the same time as well as dropped Marauder with over 9 minutes left on the clock. Good times.
-
Prevents Marauder from running outside and auto-failing the Trial. I've never seen a need to do so *shrug*
Also requires everyone to be able to scale the wall, which seems more difficult for a pug than having people fight in the courtyard. -
Sorry I wasn't able to make it guys, work came up urgently. Sounds like things went awesome just the same though

Yeeees yeeeeeeeeees, more people need to come to Champion and make Corruptors. Welcome Postagulous and Irish Fury
As for the Praetoria question, yeah Redside is relatively empty compared to Blueside. As much as it pains me, I think if you want a lot of teaming, you're best off being blue or gold for leveling up since there's a lot more teaming. People also run the TFs a lot more regularly because they give more merits and are needed for TF Commander.
So what you've gotta do is make lots of Corruptors in Praetoria -
Deadboy, You've seen me play melee a few times now. Pretty sure we've done some TFs together with me on my KM/SD Scrapper.
Comicsluvr, Glad you liked it. I know what you mean about combining jumping with attacks, on my old Nin/Nin Stalker I used to love jumping right when I hit Golden Dragonfly so I'd come crashing down from higher -
Yeah, what Demo said. -res is pretty rare on enemy attacks. Where you will see huge amounts of -res is facing large spawns of Wailers. They get nasty.
That said, I'm not sure if something like the Wailers case would technically be cascading failure. My understanding of the phrase is that its cascading because each debuff makes the successive ones more likely to land. Getting your resistance debuffed wouldn't make more resist debuffs more likely to land, if anything it would make them more effective. It doesn't work that way though, because AFAIK resistance debuffs always work off your undebuffed resists.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a lot of variation in Brute builds. The Brutes who want to be tough go SS/WP, the Brutes who want to do more damage go SS/FA. I can't really complain, since mine is SS/FA but he's pretty much just for farming

People don't like being told their pet AT isn't very good, Obitus

If you want survivability you'd be best off going with the Mace Mastery pool and taking the Scorpion Shield. You could softcap your s/l defense very easily which would make you much, much tougher. Especially since a lot of Kinetics is melee based and most melee is s/l or has a s/l component.
My personal preference for squishies is defense over resistance. When you get hit you may have to heal for more, but you get hit far less often so you don't have to heal as often. For a set as fast paced as Kinetics, this is great. -
Where on earth is this idea that MMs are hard to play coming from? Difficult to master, perhaps. But for baseline functionality MMs are right up there with Scrappers for easy mode.
