    New pc for I17?

With my current 3,5 years old pc having constant lockups, I'm deciding to give it an early retirement and get myself a new pc that can run ultramode without trouble. I've been looking at the following system, could anyone give advice on it?

I thought this would be a pretty useless feature but it might look cool on my lizardman or demoness too... hope they are different animations for different tails.
Ah, the animated tails. I've already read that in the I17 update and really like that feature. When I first created Sheline in Freedom Force (using heroine_with_tail mesh) the tail was already animated and would wag when standing idle and move while running/jumping. But here in CoH it always felt like Shelines tail was nothing more then a glorified coathook.
  3. I've got a whole army of catgirls on Victory. But this is my first one, Sheline, a ma/sr scrapper.

There's a bit more info about her on Badge-hunter, see link. http://www.badge-hunter.com/view_player.php?id=9369
It might be a bit outdated since I wrote it up when I created her during CoH launch.

I just saw your latest work on Hellfrost. Very nicely done, I like it. It looks a bit like a page out of a comic book to me, with those speach balloons.

What's so great about Sands of Mu when it misses half the time and the animation delays you from firing something off that might actually hit?
Odd, I still use Sands of Mu quite a lot on my lvl 50 ma/sr scrapper. It gives me some extra aoe potential, catching two or three critters in it's cone. Sands of Mu is also a nice negative energy damage source in case I run into some critters with high smashing resist. And with a Kismet unique and 74% global accuracy it doesn't really miss that often.
  6. Actually that Kismet recipe has a wrong description. It doesn't give a +6% accuracy bonus but a +6% tohit buff bonus, which is much better.

If you slot it in a toggle the buff will take effect the moment you activate the toggle. You'll get the buff as long as the toggle is running and it still lasts for 120 seconds after you turned of the toggle. When the Kismet unique is slotted in a passive power, it's effect will always be on.

I'm not sure if the Kismet unique gives a global bonus, like the kb protection IO's, or if you'll only get the buff from it as long as you are not exemplared more then 3 levels below the recipe level and still have the power available where it's slotted.
  7. Would my corruptor Hellfrost fit the bill? Though she's actually not hot but rather cold.

I just noticed your update. Very nice job on the sketch. It looks great.
  9. My first and most fun corruptor is an ice/rad corruptor that can solo without any problems and still is good on teams as well.

Ice blast does some good single target damage, and has some nice single target control as well. (Hello mr mezzer, meet my freeze ray.) Just don't forget to slot some end redux in your blasts since it can be a bit heavy on the blue bar. The /rad debuffs can greatly improve survivability against nastier foes like bosses and EB's.

Or switch /rad for /dark for even more control. Stacked freeze ray + pet gaze will stop a boss in it tracks. And tarpatch + ice storm (and possibly blizzard) would be nice combination as well.
  10. I'm taking my two guesses for today. How about Bulgaria and Uruguay?
  11. I'll take a shot at that free art as well. My guesses for today are The Netherlands and Madagascar.

    Forum names.

Thanks for this tread. I had missed the original announcement for changing your forum name. Today I finally got rid of the _NA and _EU behind my forum names.
  13. So far I've got 3 defenders. (And maybe some forgotten low lvl alts on different servers.)
    • Succuby : lvl50 emp/dark. My very first defender, created when I was still young and inexperient to CoH. It's also my 2nd lvl 50 character. Now quite abandoned and moved to Virtue (before extra slots where available) when I needed a free slot on Victory.
    • Atomik Kitten : lvl50 rad/rad. The second defender I've made. It's the most fun one as well. And always good to bring along on a TF.
    • Acupuncture Kitten : lvl40 ta/arch. The latest defender that I'm leveling up right now. It's getting quite nice now, with rain of arrows finally properly slotted.

    Ice/Fire Guide?

I also have an ice/fire blaster. I've got the power selection listed below. The slotting might not be entirely correct since I can't remember it from scratch, but it shouldn't be that much different.

  15. For solo play an ice or sonic blaster would probably be the best since those sets offer some decent mitigation powers. Ice being slightly better on teams then sonic since it has a bit more aoe. (And ice also has the coolest nuke.) My ice/fire blaster is actually the first blaster I managed to get past the big nuke level and was also my first blaster to reach lvl 50. On teams nothing is more fun then to use buildup, aim, ice storm, blizzard on a big spawn. Then I pop a small blue, rush in for consume to refill my end and finish the mobs of with a fire sword circle.

For teaming the blaster sets with lots of aoe would probably be better, so fire, archery or assault rifle? Currently I'm leveling up a fire/mental blaster and it's truely devestating on teams. Using three ranged aoe's (two cones, one targeted aoe), in combination with either buldup or aim, and all the minions will already be gone with lt's severely beaten if not defeated as well. And post 38 you can use psy shockwave for some additional pbaoe damage. And those three aoe's are already all available at lvl 10. Not sure about archery since I haven't played that, but it may reach similar levels of mass destruction? It just might have to wait a bit longer untill rain of arrows is available at lvl 32?
  16. Heh, I'm in the same boat here. I also got NA behind my forum name.

But now that I'm thinking of it. I got a free EU account, with a month of play, a few years ago and probably registered on the EU forums with the same forum name that I've been using here on the US forums. I haven't logged in on the EU forums since then and unfortunately I can't remember my EU forum login and password. Hopefully this can still get sorted out.
  17. And the bonus from the Kismet unique can stack after zoning. Often I find myself with a +12% tohit right after zoning into a mission. But it drops down to the original 6% within two minutes when the oldest version of the bonus expires.
  18. Well, it's time I post about my story arc as well to get some attention for it and save it from oblivion. Only several SG mates played and rated it right after publishing. It has been untouched and buried deep in the list of MA arcs after that. Untill VioletDiamond stumbled upcn it tonight and rated it, giving me the builder and constructor badge for it. Thanks Violet.

I'll start playing and rating the arcs posted in this thread, about two or three a night. For tonight three arcs have been played and rated, and a there are a lot of them left to do. So it might take a little while before I've reached and played the last arcs.

My own arc has ID 106458, and is called: A demoness' call for help. The arc is three missions long and uses custom mobs. So lower lvl characters might have to be a bit more carefull. The last mission also has an EB in it, but there are some ally helpers available to help fight it, if needed.
  19. Thanks for the update, Eva.

I didn't know this was an already discussed topic. Well, it was a minor thing that I noticed and tried to correct. But I guess it's beyond my ability to get it corrected.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
It may be possibly that the surrounding mob is set to the same as the captive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, that's not the case. For the surrounding mobs I selected my custom group A (same as the enemy mobs in the mission). The custom made ally is selected from my custom group B, but the grouptag below his name is that of custom group A.
  21. I've made two custom groups for my story arc. The first group, A, has all the enemy mobs in it. The second group, B, consists of allies and hostages.

In the first mission you have to rescue an ally from the surrounding mobs. For some strange reason the ally's faction is set to A, the same as the surrounding mobs, while it actually belongs to my custom group B. I'd like to correct this, but have no idea how this is happening. Does anyone have an idea how this can be fixed?
