Starting on Friday, I'm having two problems. I don't see how they be connected, but they started happening at the same time.

- When I log in to the Freedom server, I can't connect to the mapserver. Or I get mapserver-disconnected in less than a minute. This happens with both my computers at home. (I know it's not account-related, because I can sign on to Freedom from my friend's computer at his home.) I have no problem signing on to Champion or Victory.

- I cannot reach the main City of Heroes website on either of my computers. I get timeouts. (When I run the CoH Updater, that window that shows the latest news and announcements tells me instead that it can't connect to the site.) But here's an odd exception: I CAN access http://boards.cityofheroes.com (which is how I'm posting this.) And, again, my friends aren't having this problem.

I use AT&T for my broadband. I tried resetting our router, to no avail.

Later I may try taking my laptop to a Starbucks and see if it happens on that network.

Meanwhile -- any ideas?

A friend of mine is having trouble logging into the forums. We think its because his CoH account is currently inactive. Does anyone know if that's true? (They do use the same login name and password, right?)

I want to use a customized version of the Rogue Island Villain "Bad Penny" in my arc. The problem is I know very little about him. What are his powersets? Also, where can I see some screenshots? (Paragon Wiki has only one, and its' not very helpful).

Actually I just wanted to use Bad Penny, along with Penny Preston and Penelope Yin. (Do I have to build them from scratch too?)

Can you use the Rogue Island Villains in MA? Characters like Bad Penny, Comrade, Hollow Point, etc. They don't seem to be listed in Mission Creator.

I'd like to see a beach; a nice, friendly beach. Maybe a sunny, cleaned-up version of Grandville Beach (like there's a decimated version of Atlas Park.)

There's a very funny are I played, which I believe is called "The Pick-Up-Group from Heck". The idea is that you're playing CoH, and the npc allies are being run by the worst players ever.

At one point, you rescue an ally who says "Phone's ringing -- AFK". Then the character just stands there for several minutes, oblivious to everything, not following or fighting or anything, until suddenly he decides to join the group.

I think it's hilarious, but I don't know how the author did this. Does anyone know?

Here's a thought: use your own versions of Thor, Hercules, Set, Ra, etc, only emphasize the really nasty stuff they did in the myths. (And make sure they don't look like the comics versions).

Lately, whenever I've joined a PUG in AE, more than one player insists on playing an "Auto-Sidekick" mission. As I understand it, this is one that's set to 50-54th level so that every player has to be raised to that level range, and be guaranteed of getting XP. Is that correct?

Now, I like getting experience as much as everyone else, but some very interesting-looking missions are lower than 50th. How can I get a group together who is interested in playing them?

Also, how can I get a group to playtest my missions when they aren't set to 50-54?

Placing items where we want has long been a sticky issue. We can't just DO it.

However, you can have some influence over the placement. In the mission creator, be sure that the item/ally/boss whose placement is most important (in your case, the object) is listed first, then the second-most important (the boss) second, etc. Mission objective's placement seem to be given priority in the order in which they appear.

I don't think you can reorder the mission objectives by dragging-and-dropping, but you can do so in Leandro's Mission Planner.

When I ran CoH on my HP 64-bit Windows Vista laptop, the performance and graphics were mediocre. (This was strange, becasuse it runs DDO much better, and that's a much more graphically intense game.)

I installed Windows 7 RC, and now the CoH graphics are even worse. Can you recommend anything?

[/ QUOTE ] I see that the villain must be set to Run Away when he takes only a little damage. And the map has such close quarters that the players probably can't catch him in time.

But what happens if by some miracle they do defeat him? Is the plot messed up? If it were me, I'd set his "dying words" to be "...Teleporting...to...base...bwah ha ha!" to show that even if you defeated him, he got away.
