The reality is your never going to have everything you need. Your always going to have to visit the market or do some AE ticket trade ins. So this concept is not going to make you an island onto yourself. If anything it will force you to the market to pick up items your short on. Example if you had 4 hydraulic pistons, you would be more inclined to go to the market to buy one so you could convert the 4 you had to something else.

But in all honesty the Hero / Villain Merit system is not offering much in the lines of making the market move. Someone is either selling the IO purchased, which all that has done was introduce one IO on the market. Which is going to be the current highest value IO for the number of merits used. So that person has not purchased anything. Basically the market gets flooded with a couple of high priced IOs. Other then that nothing else occurs. Or the player uses the IO he purchased and maybe goes to the market to buy the salvage they might need.

Since all salvage and IOs are tabled out at an equal percentage based on rarity, theoretically you have the same chance of getting and IO or salvage from a particular table. So if that is true what is the harm if I am changing 5 pieces of salvage into 1 piece of salvage from the same table for the same rarity type ?

And not trying to sound all conspiracy theorist like. I do feel slightly that something like this could come to some resistance to some people as it could affect the amount of money that lines their pockets from playing the market game. I think this would also prevent someone from trying to monopolize some IO set.

Meaning now someone can't go out and buy just one particular IO from a set, but purchase all of them and then hold them hostage for 50 million each. Forcing players to either buy this exorbitantly high priced IO or waiting however long it takes for the price to go down.

You could be waiting possibly several weeks or forced to redo your build another way. Is this player harassing me ? No by all means not at all. They are allowed to do this. But am I now stuck in a holding pattern because I cannot either afford this crazy price or sanely refuse to play this legal extortion. Most certainly the answer is yes. Which I do not believe is fair.

I just don't feel the market was meant as a place to perform legal highway robbery. I have a base so I can drop stuff in storage, but a player with no base could tie up several of his toons just holding IOs along with his mailbox just for a single respec. Could you imagine the effect this has on that player. The purchase of one IO now holds up every toon involved. It ends up becoming a pain in the back side. I know I have been duped into thinking the price of an IO was much less then it sold for. I seen an IO sold for anywhere from 3 to 5 million. But as I creep up my bid I end up having to buy one for 12 million. And there are maybe 20 left to buy. Trust me I get it when there is only 1.

Yea, I know you can fly, shoot laser beams from your eyes, knock down 10 guys with 1 foot stomp and fight off a giant octopus. But if you want this single orange IO you need to clear out your bank account.

At least this way YOU have the option of determining for yourself if going the route of recreating the IO might be a bit cheaper then the 50 million needed to buy the IO you need. Now that guy looking to rip you off is going to have to work a bit harder trying to cover all the angles. Which would probably not be financially feasible to do.

You know I think if I just didn't read or hear about the cheesy thing people do on the market I might not have such a thorn in my backside for this.

Again NOT asking to make purple IOs.

What I am asking for a way to convert 5 items from Pool A into 1 item from Pool A of same rarity, toss in some money sink to boot if makes you feel better.

You can buy Hero merits with money and trading mission merits, heck the game gives you 50 mission merits upon completion of the morality missions as a bonus. They are pretty much waving it your face.

How is this concept so far fetched from any other already implemented in this game. This concept is not in any way shape or form giving you something for nothing. The player is making a conscious decision to trade in a larger quantity of one item in return for 1 item of similar value and possibly paying a fee to do it.

Whereas every other system in this game is completely a reward with no loss. Again I might be missing the inherit economic melt down something of this might cause. I don't think it will. Personally for me my whole storage which includes bases and on my characters would probably be cut in half over night if this were implemented.

Further something like this would help when player population has decreased. The market is solely dependent on players. End result less players, less items on the market. Which means now prices sky rocket. This gives players a way to pick up items that might never be on the market or extremely rare. It also allows players to create and sell things on the market that might be difficult to come by normally because of the lack of a larger player base.
you don't need to use the market. just because you hate the market is no reason to ask for an entire rebuild of the crafting system. also, your idea that this will draw more people to the game is false. it will not. this idea falls into your "i hate the market" stance. again, /unsigned to the idea. and is against forum rules to keep posting about the same thing over and over and over. ask Ultimo_.

All you need is to copy a build from this forum and use daddy's credit card to pay for some RMT funds. I've never done that, but there are plenty who have. That takes 0 skill.

And if you bothered to read the entire first post, you would have seen that my idea had this zone be either new, auto-leveled toons only, or if existing characters came in it would have to be by using one of the other builds to create an SO only build.

We already have zones and arena where you can use all your earned or bought IO set bonuses. This is an idea for something different. Something that was tried on the test server to test Recluse's Victory when it first came out and everyone had a lot of fun with.
for test server this works. it will not work on live.
  4. there was no patch as far as i know. just a download after you quit the game.

However I also like the OPs idea. I'm not sure what the ramifications would be to the market and supply and demand and such, but it might be interesting.

They could do it like they do Inspirations now. 3 of a given type, can be turned into one of a given type. But they could keep it on an even tier. so 3 common salvage can be turned into 1 of another common salvage. Or 3 purple recipes (of the same kind) turned into 1 purple recipe.

I think the idea has merit. For all those times I open my salvage inventory and see 15 hydraulic pistons and I really just want a spiritual essence. It might even help even the gap between the really expensive, less common, common pieces like "luck charm" or the other "common salvage" that sells for a ton because it doesn't seem to drop as much or what ever, and the pieces that sell for 1 inf because there are so many of them.
do some ouro or run ae and random roll tickets for common salvage. all you need to know is that if you pay attention to the recipe level you are making, you know exactly what level to run missions at. make profit while running by selling what you don't need at the market.

DR still doesn't work like it should, hence why it did not bring more people into PvP. i know what the difference is and there is none in terms of what DR didn't do. but enough about PvP. we could go on for days about it and this isn't a forum for that, this is a market forum.

lmao. and DR didn't do what it was supposed to which was to bring more people into PvP. really bad example there guy. why don't you stay out of the market forums and quit crying about the market.

That said, this thread has devolved, as usual, into arguing about arguing. As such I wash my hands of it, it serves no further purpose.

    To conclude, I'll say this:
I don't like the Fitness Pool being made inherent. I don't believe it adequately addresses what I percieve as problems with the game. I believe it adds NEW problems, including forcing powers on people that they might not want and leaves us with more powers and no new slots to put in them.

I would rather have seen the pool reorganized so Stamina was available at L6, or Stamina ALONE made inherent, and something new put into the Fitness Pool at L20.
lmao. you do realize you called yourself a liar in the first sentence of this post, right? and again, your opinion about end usage can, has and will be proven wrong time and time again. but you won't listen and will be back within 1 month with yet another thread about how end usage needs to be changed. at that point, even for this one, it is against forum rules and i hope you get time to learn your lesson.

as for the last of your post, if people are unhappy with getting swift and hurdle, they do not have to put any enhancements in them. and if it is for RP reasons because they want to be a regular human with no powers, then they need to move to another game or make an ar/dev or arch/dev blaster and level lock it at lv 1 and use walk to move around.

Tbh if you have toons like most PvPers I know ie the toons in the 10-20 bill inf range you should not even be able to be touched by some one with SOs. lets see 2 mill inf toon vs 15 bill inf toon. Ya see my point. Right now it the IOed toons are still good enough to keep the baddies from coming in the zone. Which tbh if you are willing to spend the money the way it should be you should be able to just insta kill some one that dose not want to work to make a toon and just puts SOs in it.
umm... i know plenty of "SO'd" toons that will beat the **** out of that 15bil dollar io build. price has nothing to do with it. go actually learn to PvP and then you can come back to the forums.

as for the idea, i can get behind a new zone, but i can not get behind an auto lv or so only. auto lv would bring all the PvE'ers to the forums screaming that they can't have it why should the PvP'ers.
  11. and everytime you mention it i will give it a big /unsigned. there is no need for this in the game at all.
  12. Sharker_Quint

    PvP IOs

/unsigned. It would be abusable by anyone who cares to set up a PvP io farm.

    My idea was this:
The MM summons his 6 minions.
He waits for them to recharge.
He dismisses the ones that are up.
He casts Soul Extraction on the corpses of his minions, raising 6 new minions from them, all at once.
He then re-summons the original 6, then trains and enhances them.
    Then calls up Dark Servant.
Making 13 minions, but only 6 being perma-till-killed(possitive about the spirits, not entirely so about the DS).

Would that be too game-breaking for the Necro/DM MM?
won't work. your pets don't die when you dismiss them. they just go away. and yes, if this was possible, it would be over powered. and hate to say it but a story is just that, a story. unless all 80 people died within 10 feet of each other, there is no way 1 toon used one rez to rez them all.

ok, i have tried to be nice, enough. stop being a jerk because you're upset. acting like a jerk will get you no where. show some intelligence by letting them know, in a calm tone, that you are experiencing problems. they will be more then happy to work with you in fixing the issue so you can play. if you go in acting like a jerk, you will get ignored and get no help. does that clear it up for you?

if i were you i would stop insulting the devs. it will cause you to get banned. again, we can understand your frustration, there is a support team that will help you if you contact them. this is not bad software or bad customer support. this is not lack of dev support either. there are a few rednames here that you can pm to see if they can let the devs know that there is a problem. i would suggest writing in a non attitudish way so as to get the help you seek though.

so if this download doesn't work for you, contact support through the websites main page first. if that still doesn't work, contact either TheOcho or Avatea about the problems you are having. they will be more then happy to help as long as you do not spit attitude at them.

Any how here whats going on
1: Login to NCsoft Game Account Details page, where after asking for money to play it says would you like to download the game client "o yes please I say nice Mr web site" Gosh it knows im in the EU as I paid all them £s i have been saving from my pocket money to play, £s not $s clever site and as a good and clever site it lets me download the cohupdater.eu insaller so I can get them pesky Pigg files all 3.6gig of them. HAzaaarrr for me soon it will be pow and zap time.
2: It places on the desktop a nice shortcut to the game what fun we are having and starts the game, checks the files and say "hello im the log in screen please login"
3: I pop my login name and password (yes the game ones not the NCsoft ones, and I know the password is right cuz in changed it 3 times.) and the screen says "WRONG!! Fool try again" humm me thinks thats odd.
4: So I call a mate who plays COHVR and tells him what gone one (hes a beta tester and nows his stuff) "haha" he says "this old nut, look at properties under the shortcut and if its says cohupdater.exe and not cohupdater.eu.exe well bless me you have the wrong game Client silly you, Uninstall (windows7) with COHVR initialler and just down load the whole 3.6gig again and this time check its the cohupdater.eu insaller and not the US one" humm "ok I says and so 5.5 hours later done that, but whats this an all new shortcut pointing to yes thats right cohupdater.exe now EU any where!!! Humm could it be I did some things wrong best do this again, so Uninstall with COHVR uninstaller, run CCleaner to clean reg of any traces of COHVR and go v NCsoft website>cohupdater.eu insaller>game

Well paintme blue and call me a dumb games programmer but it did the same thing a 3ed time after 6 hours

would not let me log on and tells me its using cohupdater.exe

    So My questions are this
1: Who is the moron who came up with the idea of not having a live versification checker on 3.6GIG!!!! of data when its down loaded, really any software that takes that long to download better have good fecking reason why there is not a small code tool to look at the files and say yep 99% good you just need to download X file or y files again and not the WHOLE LOT!!!

2: Why dos the EU installer keep installing the US game!! Any one?... Any one?... Any one?...

3: why are there two game clients any how??

So as far as I can see untill some one points me at an installer that works on line im going to be looking at my paid for game time going down the Cyber toilet. No I know some games companys may be happy about that but I have a feeling NCsoft was not in there ranks, we shall see.

well if any one can help that would be nice and if NCsoft dos find what I have said to be true and wish to hand be back some of my lost game time that would also be nice.

untill then here looking for help
    yours
    Spugly
wow... not a good attitude to post in on your first post. i understand your frustration but this is a section for players to help other players with their problems, a red name almost never posts in here. for now try what neo suggested. if it doesn't work check back here for any other replies. and try not to have such an attitude when you post. it won't help anything.
  21. lol. you are not required to kill the other person if you are on a team. drop rates are a little low, but wai until the devs decide to look into it.

go up a few posts and read again. i can without even trying cap my tickets easily in under 2 hrs. if i try i can do it in a lot less time. i'm sure i can get it down to 30 mins if i really wanted to. that means 50 merits in 1.5 hrs by your calculations. that is way off base of what the devs have considered to be a fair merit/min ratio. again, the idea is to keep people doing regular content instead of JUST farming AE. merits can stay where they are and tickets can do the same.
