  1. problem is, we can't use vehicles in the game.

i see a huge problem with switching powers.

morphing into a vehicle would be a tremendous load and would require more skeleton adjustments then kheldians.

this seems like another attempt to get vehicles included into CoH. the search is your friend. use it. vehicle threads come up at least once a week.
  2. list me 1 superhero genre MMO that has this.

lets stop using movies and comic books to justify things. while i have no problem with them, as i read them and watch the movies, there is no continuum in them. stories change with the director/writer.

the raptor pack serves the purpose of getting around with a vehicle. also the zones aren't big enough for this. there isn't a need to ride around in a vehicle. maybe if there weren't any war walls and it was an open environment world, then yes i could possibly see this. but since the game isn't, i can't.
  3. i gotta go with bill on this one. not a good idea. adn besides, how would we be able to have fun with the lowvbies spammin for PL'sin PI if we cant unsk when we tp them into mobs or giant monsters?
  4. this is not a needed thing. in fact im going to give the best idea ever. how about we NEVER ask for an increase in lv again. the game is balanced around casual play and not someone sitting home 24/7 playing all day long or pl'n their toons to 50 all the time.

what we need is more content to do at the higher lv's. no lv increase. no 2nd game or sequal. just good ol' content.
  5. lets see, the nearest event that caused this surge was the winter event. and of course dual builds. i havent seen anything drop yet.

and here is where the real problem lies: for all of you that can afford things on the market whitout having to wipe the sweat off your brow, take a magical trip back to the land of the new/casual gamer. ever wonder why there are so few people that use the markets? when going in as a new/casual player you get overwhelmed by the prices for the things that are suppossed to be low lv things.

the problem is that just because you all have this obsured bank role, doesn't mean everyone else does. or that everyone should play that way. i have talked tpo people who i've seen go into WW/BM and left 5 secs after being there and asked them why and gotten this exact reason: everything is to high priced. that is from new/casual gamers. not my own feelings as do use the markets.

but seriously, roll a new toon, or not, and go look at the market as a new player with no knowledge of flipping or anything like that. now think about merging the market from the red side look, the one bill and i are using, if blue already has more money then red side, who do you think will win the Market war? blue side every time.

until red side can equal blue side buying/selling power, there is no way i can support a market merger. and seeing as how red side will never equal blue side, then no merger will ever happen.
  6. they will not go in between. the prices for high prices for things on blue that are cheaper on red will stay the same. the high prices for stuff on the red will transfer to the blue effectively raising the prices on that stuff now making it a higher price. all prices do is go up and not down.

until the population equals out on both sides, this should never be considered. and dont say that if the markets merge that people will come over to the red side. why would you do that if you can make all this money blue. i dont see how this is so unseeable by the people for this. oh, maybe it's the dollar signs in their eyes.
  7. this whole problem didnt exist until i12 was dropped. whatever they did to the programming is what is casuing this. the comp im on right now i bought right after i11 dropped and had no problems. as soon as i12 dropped is when the problems started. it is not our comp's and we should not be asked to go through a series of riggamarole to play.
  8. so if im reading your statement right, it says " let red side suffer while blue side prospers". that is exactly what everyone for a merger is saying as i read it. and apparently how a few other people read it. stop thinking real world economics while your on the game and think fun. its a GAME.

all that the "flipping" has done is scare off many people from the markets. if you look at the supply, it hits you right in the face with a wrecking ball. each market has 10 servers combined to buy and sell from. we all know this. so 15% of the entire population(all servers) is using the markets. now bear in mind that 15% isnt a real figure but based off supply it doesnt seem that far off.
  9. well, i blame the market guides in part. with eveyones "buy low sell high" guides this is what happens. had the guides read "buy low sell reasonable" this might be a different story. so to the people who play the markets, your guides screwed you on this topic and has also screwed you on the amount of buyers/sellers there are. why do you think it is that only about 15% of the population uses the markets? of course it cant be because people cut into your niches and you had to find something else could it? and now that your running out of stuff to niche, you want a bigger audience with more useless recipes to niche on. it really is possible(as i have seen with my own 2 eyes, well 4 eyes if you count my glasses) that the recipes that are worthless on blue side are just as useless on red side. oh no.

so merging the markets would not help anyone but the blue side. if people dont want to pay the prices red side now, what makes you think they will want to pay the higher prices if the markets are merged.
  10. How? Just because everyone uses the same sets, we know prices would rise.

fixt for errors. it is because everyone uses the same stuff that prices would rise. you dont pay attention to the markets very well do you geko. you really cant see how there would be a lack of supply and a growth in demand? or higher prices because of more demand? seriously, stop thinking in dollar figures and think about the casual gamer. and then think about why only about 15% of the population of both games use the markets. it gets harder to make money when the only people using the markets are the "flippers".
  11. ^ points to bills post. that is the clearest explanation that can be made.
  12. look, all your theory of economics classes from college taught you was theories. doesnt mean that is how it works. if you increase demand w/out increasing supply(if you look at the markets, they are basically mirror images of each other for supply/demand) prices do not go down, they go up. even if suplly goes up(which inthis case, supply for high demand items might jump a whooping 3%) the demand has increased by at least 2 fold causing prices to go up.

best example of this is dual builds. demand went up, supply stayed the same which caused an increase in prices. seeing as how the current overflow salvage/recipes is virtually the same both sides with some exceptions, you wouldnt be increasing supply at all. all you're doing is increasing demand.

and if you really look at the supply in the markets, it would be fair to say that about 15% or so of the population uses them. most likely reason: already high prices. for the casual gamer this is not a freindly place. the idea would be to just lower prices now to draw more people into the markets. could it be that you might make more money this way rather then merging the markets? just might be.

find a way to encourage more people to use the markets rather then scarring them away from them.
  13. until supply(drop rates) are increased, this is not a feasable thing. it is already hard enough to get what you want on either side and if you paid attentoin to what is available on both sides you would see that they are pretty much a mirror of each other. and with red side having the lower population, it would become even more unreasonable to get anything red side.

maybe to make it a little easier for you to understand: both sides are independant from each other. just as your toons are independant from one another. the blue side doesnt need the red side to help with missions(unless its the stupid v-day event) and vise versa. not to mention that things cannot be traded between the factions.

there are enough why not reasons. because they dont fit your need as a reason why not, they do fit others.
  14. /absolutely not, unsigned. leave the markets as is.

i can only imagine how much the prices will inflate if this happens. reasoning behind this thought: everyone seems to think that there is way to much infl/inf floating around. this is not the case. while there are a few people who have billions that does not reflect on everyone else playing the game. especially the ones who can only play for a couple hrs a week.
  15. npc SoA's or playable SoA's? if it's the npc kind, that's PvE.(even though they are in a PvP zone)
  16. actually there are 3 votes, id even go with 4 since it's:
    1 vote for bs/inv scrapper

1 vote for fire/ice tank (which i think he's talking bout for PvE)

    2 votes for fire/ss tank.

no tell me how this topic wont start a flame war..............

and woth that, maybe you might change the title to: What is your favorite PvP build? instead of Best PvP build ever!
  17. yeah, i didnt realize that i started mids out in PvP mode and not Pve mode so i got em backwards. just went and looked. i guess the question for the op then is: do you want another toggle running or not?
  18. the best PvP build is...

whatever works for you! not all builds work the same for people.
  19. has anyone mentioned that with DR, any more then 3 sets of bonuses from io sets are a waste.
  20. hate to tell ya soilent, but tough only gives resistance to smashing/lethal not all. and it works well on a fa/ tank.
  21. Does anybody know where my ballet shoes are? Oh and can anyone hem? My tutu is a little big since i went to Jenny Craig and started my Waist Watchers diet.
