Didn't see this in the Known Issues and barely saw any mention of this in any of the forums (once in the beta bugs forum ages ago and once in the player questions forum where no one bothered to answer the OP's question about it), so I thought I'd post about it. I assume it's a bug since you can customize the other 8 powers, and it's kind of glaring having all the other powers one color and having the last power be stuck as that puke green color. Hoping this will be fixed soon (as in before I hit 38, making the character right now. :P)
  2. 'Well in advance' makes it seem like it's still not for another month or something if they haven't announced anything yet. Bleh, kinda biding my time waiting for I21. Don't wanna start any new characters until it comes out. Then again, I'm more waiting for Street Justice to come out than any I21 feature. Good thing Twisted Metal got delayed, so I won't have any console-related distractions until mid November or so.

    News from PAX

    4th Quarter for Street Justice kinda sucks. Was the only one of the three new ones on beta I really liked. Hope it's an October 1st rather than a December 31st fourth quarter release. Had a character and costume all ready to go. Wonder why they're waiting that long, the powerset seemed fully ready to go. Probably some marketing mumbo jumbo to maximize sales. *sigh* Guess I can kill time giving the other 2 powersets a longer try.
  4. Why do all these topics about the 2 new premium powersets always devolve into whining about having to use Paragon Points to get access to them instead of talking about what powers are in them? I still can't find a complete power list for either set except Street Justice for Stalkers. It's getting kinda annoying. :P You'd think on the 3rd day into ComiCon, there'd be SOMETHING on these sets by now, but all I can find is nerdrage everywhere I look.
  5. I understand your pain. I have the same issue as well. It seems the error that pops up for me when I crash is always different too, so I can't pinpoint the problem. Lambda trials are the worse for me. I crashed 3 for 3 on the last 3 Lambdas I ran. BAFs are much less frequent, but they do happen. And yeah, there's a post on the bugs board stating that the 'Rejoin Last Event' button is broken. So no trials for me til they fix that. I'll never manage to get an empyrean merit as long as that bug is there.
  6. Great, I crash so much during trials (especially Lambda's), I'll probably have to wait til they fix this before I can do any more. Crashing during em ticks me off enough, I'd be furious if I couldn't get back on and lost my chance at an Emp merit.
  7. A minor one, but I'd love to be able to get that Arachnos logo that came with some special edition of CoV that doesn't have the bulky 2nd color surrounding it like the one vet reward one does. Makes it hard to put it on anything but tights and not look ridiculous.

    I'd also like to be able to buy more custom weapons, either individually or as a themed pack of em.

    I do like the idea of being able to mix up archetype powersets. Like, make a melee/debuff set or maybe a control/pets set. I also though being able to mix and match within same-themed sets would be cool. Like take fire blast (the power) and then when you can choose an AoE, you pick frost breath, etc. As long as you could only pick between similar powers, ie, no taking an AoE power from every set, I think it could be cool.

    And the obvious: all this stuff we've been asking for in Noble Savage's threads. I assume a lot of those requests are going to be in the Paragon Market.
  8. If you can only unlock the aura for one character, I think you should at least have a trial period to try it out. Like, you claim the voucher on the character and test it out, but if it doesn't fit like you thought it would, you can take the aura off of them and put the voucher back into the email and have someone else try it. After one of your characters keeps it for a certain amount of time, the voucher expires and you have it on that character permanently. The voucher would probably have to be some kind of salvage to achieve this though.

    It just seems like too much of a pain in the neck to constantly have to copy your characters over to the test server every time you want to see if an aura looks good on a certain character.
  9. Gah, fixed it! Guess it was a remnant from one of those anti-virus viruses I got. LAN Settings on my Internet Properties had the Proxy Server box checked. Which is strange, because whenever that happened before, ALL my internet was blocked, not just certain applications like that. That's why I didn't suspect that this time around. Unchecked it, and the launcher is running fine now. Sorry for wasting everyone's time. That was certainly frustrating.
  10. Great, happened earlier than expected. Now, when I click to play City of Heroes, the 'Launching City of Heroes' mini window pops up, goes from 0% to 100%, disappears and...just pops up over and over again, the progress bar filling to 100% quickly, closing, and then opening again, ad nauseum. Something is really screwed up here.

    And Spad, I have no idea how to download anything from that link. Just takes me to a pretty blank page with xml tags on it. I'm not really tech savvy, so if theres something else I'm supposed to do besides clicking the link, you'll have to enlighten me. And the only malware program I have that I use is Malwarebytes. If I did my research right, a Hosts malware blocking tool would be proactive, whereas what I'm using is reactive. If thats what you mean, no, I don't use any other tools that would be blocking anything.

    I already tried uninstalling the NCSoft launcher and reinstalling and that didn't do a dang thing. I haven't made any changes to my computer in the past few days. I played before I made a small road trip, and everything worked fine. I come back and now everything is screwed up. Thanks for the replies, hopefully someone can figure this out.
  11. Ok, this just started today, worked just fine a couple of days ago. First I get this:



    Then, when I click Skip, the window opens up but it still says something is wrong. Then when I click to play City of Heroes, this pops up:



    Now, I can click Force Launch and I can play the game fine, but I have a feeling that as soon as there is an update to the game, I'm not gonna be able to play. Rest of my internet works fine. It also allowed me to look at a log which said this (feel free to laugh at my computer name; I was excited to be getting a powerful computer :P):

  13. Shouldn't we be getting some kind of post about it soon? It's coming out in 2 weeks and, besides the sneak peak we saw from the UStream, there hasn't been anything official put up yet. Seems like the Animal Booster was teased for a while before it came out. Just wondering if everything is still on schedule, been looking forward to this booster.
  14. I use the numpad to move as well, albeit a tad differently:

    8 forward
    2 backwards
    4 turn left
    6 turn right
    7 strafe left
    9 strafe right
    0 jump
    . down (for flight)
    / follow target
    * auto-run

    I got it from a certain 11th game of a series before I came here 7 years ago. I use my left hand though, which can sometimes make my wrist sore from awkward positioning. Right hand on the mouse.

  16. Not a single new costume piece this issue. Sadness... I guess I can try one of the TFs sometime, but otherwise, not too excited about this issue. 95% of my characters never even make it to 30 lol. And so I wait for news of I21 in hopes that it has something that caters to altitis sufferers like me and *pulls out wallet* I also wait for the next booster to come out that I know I'll buy because I'm a sap for new shiny.
  17. Yes, I never said it was expensive or that I didn't have GR; I prepurchased it back last February or whenever you first could. I'm just saying, that content can't count as free content, because you still have to pay extra to have access to it. I'm not arguing price here, just accessibility.
  18. Heh, mentioning the Praetorian costume pieces made me think of the Seer boots. Such a simple piece, and yet we don't get em. Those boots are a nice piece that would work with a lot of costumes and aren't complicated whatsoever, so them working with player animations really shouldn't be a problem.

    That's the problem, they've gotten us to the point where we just expect to have to pay for any new costume pieces.     Like, this issue focuses on the Incarnate stuff. That's fine, they have to get it running, I understand that. 2 new TFs, so they've got the story content buffs appeased (even if this Praetoria-all-the-time stuff is getting old quickly). 2 Incarnate trials that you'll be running over and over and over again to get your Grindy McGrindster his incarnate components. 4 new powers (so doesn't even come to half of 1 full powerset), but only for Level 50s. Which are customizable, despite not being available at character creation, making it hard to believe their excuses on not being able to get the tech right to customize pool powers.

    Oh, and all Incarnate stuff is only for those who have purchased the expansion, so if you haven't, all you get is 2 side-specific TFs. So, nothing new for the altitis crowd, no costume pieces, no powersets, no new zone to explore. Maybe they're considering the vanguard loyalty booster as new costume pieces, but those are already in-game; they're just letting us access them earlier, so its not actually any work for the art team. Just makes me wonder what the art and animation teams have been working on.

    I'm really hoping the next couple of issues are gonna be amazing, because these free bare-bones updates aren't cutting it.

Yeah, I'm also one of those with crazy bad altitis, so costume bits and powersets are top concern for me. 7 years in, I need some radically different costume pieces to work with, I'm starting to run out of new character concepts. :P Re-coloring the powers only works for so long. We really need new non-tech costume pieces. The devs seem to be in love with those at the moment.

    I'd like some more normal clothes options like shoes/boots that don't go all the way to the knee, some proper shorts, maybe some hoodies (possibly with a hood down option), etc. Maybe some gothic dresses and more fantasy-style weapons. Hell, I'd be happy if they just gave me a variation of the disco bottoms w/ skin costume piece where the leg portion ended like a few inches lower so I could make a proper skirt and thighhigh socks look. Right now, unless I use the skirt with the slit on the sides, it just looks like I'm wearing tights.

    But, anyways, this is starting to turn into a request post. I just need something new and different to work with to get my creative juices flowing again. This new Incarnate stuff is too grindy for me, I can't stay on one character long enough to make any kind of serious dent into getting the more powerful abilities. I did it for one character for the Alpha slot, but the thought of having to do that all over again on another character just makes me groan.

    That's my 2 cents anyways.

    EDIT: Restarting my computer worked for me. It downloaded ANOTHER patch and this time I was able to log in.

    Never seen that in the 6 years I've been playing, so I was very wary. I tried to just X out of it but it wouldn't let me. Weird thing was, I just clicked back into the game and played as normal. I was just worried it was some kind of scam trying to get into my account or something. Anyone know if that is actually a pop up from the game?

  25. I'm with almost everyone else on this: Not buying this one, and I've bought EVERY other booster pack.

    This is the start of a slippery slope, and I don't like it one bit. It is really starting to feel like any good costumes made for us are going to be in booster packs, and we're only going to get scraps in the free issue releases. Actually, it already feels like we're getting scraps in non-booster costume additions...

    With this booster being $8, its making me nervous that if this sells well, the next booster with actual costume pieces and such in it is going to be set at a much higher price than what they had been set at before.

    Bad idea to start getting bad PR right before a competent rival is about to become fierce competition...

    Just my 2 cents.
