When a heroine wearing a skirt enters the water the skirt disappears leaving only the bottom visible.
I have pictures but I don't know how to add them. -
I was so happy to see the bow in the Gunslinger costume set
, but was rather dismayed to find that there was no way to render the hair net invisible
.
Please add a way to have a nice big hair bow without the hair net. -
SG Name: Sisters of the Golden Dawn
SG Leaders: Liebe and Fiery Angela
SG Website (if any): In Progress
SG Recruiters: See Danielle at school
Teamspeak/Ventrillo Server: None: We use conference calls.
SG Peak Hours: Whenever we can play
Other Info: Supergroup of RL friends, most of us are part of the High School Cheerleading team, only about 6-8 members right now. Most of us have at least two Villianesses and two Heroines. -
My Sister and I love our MA / Regen Stalkers (and our MA / Regen Scrappers
) though she has gotten turned on to the pink Pom Poms of Energy.
Since we have wings on 90%+ of our charactersFly is a must for us; we found the following to be our best so far.
Level 1: Sands of Mu, Brawl, Storm Kick and Hide.
Level 2 : Crippling Axe Kick
Level 4 : Reconstruction
Level 6 : Assasin's Blow
Level 8 : Air Superiority
Level 10 : Fast Healing
Level 12 : Swiftness
Level 14 : Fly
Level 16 : Integration
Level 18 : Cobra Strike
And that is our highest MA Stalker right noe.
We found the Air Superiority works great with Sands of Mu and all the kicks.
Our standard attack (at level 18) goes:
From flight:
1. Assasin's Blow
2. Air Superiority
3. Crippling Axe Kick
4. Storm Kick
and if the mob is still kicking... Sands of Mu
I should mention that we are Roleplayers...
So we are not after the Build of the Moment, we are after what best fits the concept of our characters. -
Oh... I hate my (parent's) Nanny Program, why can't it judge according to individual content instead of site....

Heh, you're all correct of course. I never said that everyone who chooses to break rules they don't like is always a hero and all of society should back them up every time. It's even possible that someone who objects to a given law may be wrong to do so! I still don't think that means we should accept bad, stupid, or unjust rules.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, and there-in lies the rub. I don't think we should accept any laws that are unjust or unfair either, it's one reason I speak out quite vocally on such things in my own private journal, however the laws should still be followed even while you complain about it or rally against it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess the big question then is WHO determines if a law is unjust or unfair?
The Law Abiding citizen who pays taxes and supports the economy?
The Slouch who lives off of welfare and expects society to provide his every need?
The Executive who feels that since his actions support the economy and he provides jobs to the masses he is above the Law?
Who determines what is fair and what is unfair?

As you can tell, I have rarely posted on the forums. That being said, I do read through select ones nearly every day. Lately I have noticed a disturbing trend regarding rants and the forums and Lighthouse.
More and more discussions/rants are being closed down by Lighthouse. I realize he is the Community Relations go-to person, but in trying to establish his unique presence in that role, I feel he has gone a bit too far at times, more than not.
I cringe everytime I see his name in a discussion. Maybe I am not very sensitive to people's feelings but Lighthouse seems to be politically correct to the extreme. Someone could use the word "butthead" in a post and he will close it down. Have we become such a community that we cannot tolerate even minor rants and dissenting responses?
I wonder how many respones this will generate before Lighthouse closes this thread down.
What I would like to see is a bit more balance from Lighthouse, more leeway being given to rants. Maybe it is me, but the rants lately have been generating some good discussions, some good feedback with only a few poor posters using inappropriate language.
Rather than merely closing down the rants, Lighthouse could close them and then open up a new discussion forum where he has distilled the rant's thoughts/points and then invite feedback. Would that mean some more work for Lighthouse? Yes, but he is the Community Rep. Wouldn't his job be to not only monitor but also direct and redirect discussions in a more positive vein?
I know that this post will divide many on the issue of Rants in general and I know some will take sides over Lighthouse. I do not dislike Lighthouse - I have seen some quality respones from him. MY OPINION is that he could back off a bit on his politically correct stick and allow us to work out our rants on our own or step in only when really neccesary.
A final suggestion - a forum dedicated to rants only? A free for all rant forum where users would have to agree that what is said in the forum stays in the forum?
Thanks for listening. This has just been something that has bugged me from day one of Lighthouse being here....

These forums are read by many people and it is best to operate at the lowest common demoninator.
This means no profanity. If you cannot communicate without using profanity then you need to re-assess your value to society and your basic education.
It is not your right to post here, it is your privilidge; that privilidge comes with responsibilities to adhere to the rules. The rules state that no profanity and no defamation would be tolarated. :
The mods and Lighthouse are doing a good job of keeping the forums in line and keeping the undesireable words in check. I applaud them.
A note about the profanity filter: it is not a license to curse; it is a protection to those who would not see your cursing. Just as a Bulletproof vest is not a license to shoot Law Enforcement officers but it is there to protect them. And just as you will go to jail for shooting at a Law Enforcement officer; you may be banned for using profanity. -
I enjoy role playing the good people, I guess that is because it fits me and I enjoy being good.
I can also roleplay a bad person, but I have to stress at it and I make dumb remarks; but nobody said bad people are not dumb.
When I play a good person I usually end up playing a Pollyanna; I view everything through rose colored glasses and to me evil is a disease that can be cured. One thing I really like about COH/COV is nobody really dies; they are all sent to rehab clinics to learn to be good(until they escape that is
).
I like roleplaying the good people; I stink at roleplaying the bad people because I feel like I want to help others; not hurt them. -
I would be pleased if they did not put out a public schedule, nor make promises of a release schedule so they can work on getting the game improved; ensuring the issues are as bug free as they can be and of course releasing them when they feel they are ready.
We don't need to know thier internal schedule; we should be pleasently surprised when a new issue is unveiled or more information is given about upcoming content.
We should not DEMAND that they produce results based on our timing but rely upon their timing to give us the content when they feel it is ready.
-
My choice is not even up as a option, so I took my second choice; Costumes.
My first choice would have been game play. -

Bingo. That pretty much nails our design on bases. We're slowly but surely making additions and changes based on feedback & data. We'll get there...I think bases are a case study where a design didn't mesh well with actual gameplay! For some odd reason, some posters have thought my Serious Games speech blamed the players; heck no! Bases are 100% a DESIGN problem. Not a player problem.

I would like to say that Statesman has raised his and the other Devs integrity with this statement.
I really like when someone is honest with me and I feel that Statesman tells things like it is. The fact that we can actually talk to him in PMs is a indication that he does not hide from his customers; but is right there with us.
Thank you Statesman for being so honest and up front. You have been known to say things that we did not like. (ED is a prime example) but everything you did and said was to make the game better in the end. I love it that you show us that you and the dev team are not perfect but that togather we are working to make the game better.
Again Thank you.
OH and Thank you for our WING!!! -
Many of the stories presented demonstrate Newbs, not Noobs.
If those people learned from thier mistakes and they got better; they were Newbs.
If they did not learn from thier mistake and rebuffed all constructive comments believing they know how to play thier AT; then they are a NOOB.
Please remember the difference.
A Newb can learn and become a good player.
A Noob will never learn and will always be a bad player.
I met a Newb (not Noob) who did not understand about Enhancement Management.
We were in a group, she was a Stalker that could not hit anything.
Everyone was saying she was worthless since she was not really contributing to the battles. But I was the leader so I refused to remove her. I mean she seemed like she was trying.
I got a couple of good Damage and Accuracy Enhancments and I offered them to her. She said she was full and could not accept anymore until she visited the Quartermaster. I asked her what Enhancements she had in her skills.
She stated "Enhancements in my skills?" (I think I found the problem)
I found out she thought enhancements were Loot. To be sold to Vendors for Influence.
Once I helped her get some appropriate level enhancements into her skills, she proved to be quite competent and learned her place well.
The crowing acheivement was recruiting a vetern Stalker (low level Alt) who helped her refine her assasin skills. Now she is quite adept at being a Stalker.
But because she came from a MMORPG that relied upon Loot rather than skills; she did not immediately realize what the Enhancements were for.
And honestly.... How many people actually read the instructions or read the tutorial? -

The Moonlight shown through the barred window, a shadowy figure with bright honey colored stripes stood in the Moonbeam and stared at the celestial orb so far away and sighed.
Luna slowly paced around the cell in the Paragon City prison, she was hungry even though she was still hungry. Her tail twitched as she heard the snoring throughout the prison. It was times like this that she cursed her nocturnal instincts and her enhanced senses especially smell and hearing .
She crawled into her bed, nothing more than a thin mattress on a metal frame, and resisted the urge to tear it up and soften it. Already she had been chastised multiple times for tearing up her bed. At night she slept naked, without a blanket; after all her fur provided more than enough protection. Ironically no fur covered her face, in fact from her neck up she was all girl; except her ears
As she lay on her bed she thought about her life and why she was here.
Born Jane Doe, as in she has no birth certificate; officially Luna does not exist.
Unofficially she was classified as a mistake and was meant to be terminated.
But she survived...
She knew she was the product of a biogenetic experiment to create better people by fusing animal genes into human genes; this much had been taught her, who had financed her existence she did not know. She and her kind were meant to be the ultimate Ninjas; using animal stealth, cunning and instincts. She was one of many and was not considered a great success, unlike many of her brothers and sisters who were solid black, she had bright honey hair and stripes.
Sadly her future was placed into limbo when the Crey Corp raided the lab, if she had not been out in the yard when the raid came, she would have been terminated with her brothers and sisters. But her keeper saw what was coming and released her into the wilds of Paragon City, before she was terminated herself.
She remembered as she hid in the bushes using her natural hide ability to make her not appear to normal eyes.
By luck or by skill she was missed and after they started burning her home down, then left as quickly as they had come. Leaving only death in their wake.
She ventured into a city that she was ill prepared to compete or even survive in. She fell into crime because it was her way. Instinct showed that she needed to eat to survive and she learned to steal to eat.
She killed her first human, he was eating a hot dog, she asked him for the hot dog and he insulted her, so she just chopped his head off and then took the hot dog and left. Sadly she did this in public and soon she found herself in prison; the trial was short and nothing she could understand.
Ironically, prison was the best thing that ever happened to her. She learned of a organization called Arachnos and other villains taught her much more during their time in the pen.
And she has been here ever since
Again, looking out her barred window she looked at the moon, her namesake so free as she was so bound. Slowly she wept herself to sleep

Gang,
Sorry that I've been out of touch for the past week. I spent most of the time with my family back East. My brother is set to deploy in Iraq in just a few days so I wanted to make sure that I saw him off right! He's a hero of mine, and one of the game's most committed players. I can't speak highly enough of my brother and all that he's done for this country.
OK - now back to work stuff. I'm going through my PM's (287 of them at last count) slowly but surely. I at least read, if not respond, to every one of them. Positron and I will also be reading all of the threads over this week and we HOPE to post updates or responses on every single one.
Now, I'll wax philosophic for a moment. Before I left, I posted a couple of things that a few posters thought were "flippant" or "snarky." I certainly didn't intend either...but here's the reality. I do NOT pass my posts through PR, community relations or anyone. I post, well, exactly as I think. So sometimes I won't sound polished like a snake oil salesman. Sometimes, I'll sound just like any other gamer out there. I could have someone edit everything I post - but that would inevitably delay responses and cut back on communication. I think, though I could be wrong, that the majority of you would prefer my honest thoughts, rather than sales talk. It's probably pretty different than the game developer norm, but it's what feels right for me to say. I'm not going to always write the best responses, but you'll at least have truthful ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Statesman it's your off the cuff honest responses that are usually the best. Your controller comments for example were simple, honest and to the point. The explanation given with the update notes was BS and that's what got people mad.
You've been very blunt in your recent postings and PMs and I greatly appreciate that. Although I reserve the right to remind you of "Concern = Small Tweak. Don't worry Regen Scrappers," I think that you have a great handle on what the community likes. This post is testament of that.
Now if you could just get that Geko chap to stop being so stingy with the power info, we'll be in heaven.
*Good Luck and my best wishes to your brother. I hope he's safe on his tour.*
[/ QUOTE ]
I too hope your brother the best and a safe return.
I also want to mention that "snarky" or not, I always prefer a honest answer to someone trying to sell me something.
Thank you for being frank and honest with us. -

True - but they'll have fun battling 3 white minions - which is something you can say at level 15, but not at level 35.

All I am reading in this statement and the jiist I am getting from the entire Statesman quote is that the Devs are trying to introduce forced grouping.
I'm not sure I want to get onto this bandwagon just yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe you need to learn to read. Statesman said there would be NO forced grouping. And thier won't. Grouping will still be an option just like Soloing will. The only difference will be the game will be challenging. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes it's been said, and yes there is an official post, but this issue touches me on a level greater than just organizing my questions into a single thread designed to be ignored.
Certain AT power-set combinations were designed to be more solo friendly, according to statements made in the past.
However, I am seeing a general trend in these posts, and reports from test server, that the ENTIRE GAME is about to become group-only in order to survive in the field.
I chose my primary character because his power-set combinations were capable of soloing on a casual level. I just don't have the time to locate 'good' groups who aren't there just to grief me, and take the proper time to devote my attention in support of those groups.
If I could take ONE reason why I play this game, aside from the obvious wonders of good customer service and creative geniuses at development, I would say it's because I CAN SOLO.
I have no choice. Taking this from me means I just won't be able to play this game anymore.
Therefore, in fairness, I need to be told whether or not this is the intention of the development team. If my game play changes during online play, that's one thing. But completely removing my ability to play is quite another.
The product that I purchased is certainly not the same product it is today, and many good things are coming in the future. But without the ability to play the game I simply won't be able to take part in your fine production, and that would be a shame.
So, which is it? I need a straight answer. I feel I have the right know, being a paying customer, what your intentions are from this end of the argument.
[/ QUOTE ]
No one is FORCING you to do anything. Not even play this game. The Devs are making the game a challenge again. You can either step up to the challenge or run from it. Nobody if forcing you to choose either.
How you play the game is your choice, the fact that the Devs are making it a challenge again shows that they understand the concept of Risk vs Reward. -

... Ascending Fire-escapes : hold down your right-mouse button to steer (assuming you haven't rebound it). You can rip up a fire-escape in no time (or a stair-case, whatever) by steering with your mouse and not the keyboard. Actually, steer with your mouse most of the time and you'll find you have much, much more control than with the keyboard. ...
[/ QUOTE ]
I usually just maintain my facing up the fire escape and go backwards on the flat run without turning at all. I just have to ensure that I run toward the center since I have learned that running off of a fire escape (no building in COH would pass my countries building codes since they do not have a hand rail.) is bad and many times painful. I just keep zig zagging up always facing the same dircetion, the only movement of my mouse is to keep me centered. All movment is forward, right, back and left. Repeat till roof or end of fire escape.
Edit: I guess Fated_Frontier and I use the same technique.
