If I recall my Quantum Theory correctly, just about every possibility can exist in the infinite branching outcomes of human behavior. Some alternate realities are supposed to closely resemble ours where few things are changed and there are other realities where things can be so radically different that we'd likely never be able to recognize it.

I was playing coh and someone mentioned this and when I logged and quit it brought the updater up like it was going to update...came back about 30 mins to an hour later and noticed it didn't download anything...there was an error message but I closed it before I read it (by mistake).
That took place around 11:30 am EST. I played a bit just now and logged out and no auto-launch of the updater....so...it seems they took the pre-download offline. -
