Quote:Y'know, I'll laugh if the Well turns out to be some kind of cyborg computer with sigils inscripted on it constructed by ancient aliens and seeded through the universe. That'd probably end the magic accusations.Unfortunately, this gets to the writing train-wreck that is *my* pet-peeve, which is that Origin of Powers asserts canonically that everything is magic. Super-science, natural ability, and even super-technology has as its origin magic, just a higher level magic than normal magic. The Well of the Furies is, in effect, hyper-magic.

It would be nice to see more Praetorian zones. Hell, everyone knows the level 30+ game could use more content.

Nope. I only kill what gets in my way. So far, it's given me enough gaps to try those repeatable mission contacts for filler when I'm too low level for the next chain of contacts.
-
I still have yet to outlevel a Praetorian contact.

Quote:They appear to be technology based, but when one considers Praetorian Infernal, Diabolique, etc., such appearances are deceiving. The Praetorians have magic, it's just that it appears to be a domain exclusive to Emperor Cole and his Praetors. To which I've never understood why we couldn't do the same to Praetoria given that they appear to be mostly all technology based. It's times like this I miss the 'Fodder for the Canon' thread where we could at least ask these questions of the writers.
Oh, and those exiled to First Ward. -

Quote:I would like to point out that we only stalemated with the Rikti because we sealed them off from their home dimension with magic—their one true weakness. From what I can gather, the capabilities of the Rikti on their homeworld is nothing to sneeze at and they would have decimated our world utterly if it wasn't for the Omega Team. The Rikti, after all, seem to have their own Incarnates (U'kon G'rai, anyone?) and even managed to Rikti-fy one of ours (Hero 1).Somebody above also said the Rikti have fought the Battalion off - which is interesting because as the game stands, we're pretty well stalemated with the Rikti at present. That could lead one to suspect the Battalion would be somewhat circumspect in their initial contact with us... plenty of fifth columnists (lower case variety) etc... The idea being if the Rikti and the Humans have fought each other to a standstill and the Rikti can beat the Battalion... then when the Rikti and Humans join forces to take on the Battalion...
I wouldn't be surprised if their homeworld's resources rival that of the Battalion's. -
Oh for Mot's sake, enough with the necroes!

Quote:I don't think anyone aside from a certain far flung future version of a master plotter thought using Rularuu to fight the Battalion was a good idea. There's a reason why a certain prolific author we keep running into is distinctly upset about the whole issue.Aren't virtually all of components of the Rularuu crazy, except for that HUGE BLUE JERK that nobody thought to give a cellphone to? I think it'd be hard to call in Rularuu's assistance against the Battalion.
Plus waking up a chaos god doesn't seem like a good idea. Isn't Rularuu's mind the entire dimension when he's actually awake? He must've munched every Well in his universe. And the OTHER universes he consumed. -

Proper punctuation.
But in all seriousness, I'm not quite sure. That sounds very... odd. I know the RNG can be finicky at times. How're your enhancements? -
Quote:Uh, yeah... about that.... No it doesn't.Nah... it's Rularuu. Stormwatcher badge confirms it.
However, as has been pointed out, Rularuu is still very much involved. It's almost like a certain someone has a plot, you might say, to use Rularuu when the Coming Storm of the Battalion arrives. -
Quote:Yeah, villain side has more appearances of these characters. Mangle and Overdrive show up exceptionally often out of all whom I've named. I'm beginning to suspect they're the choice paragons of evil and good respectively.Mostly hero tips (with my 'main'). There's one with Hollow Point, and you rescue Sky Dragon in one, but the others must be villainside, which I'm just starting to expore in any repeatable capacity, so this may be my loss (I do recall a Mangle one...). Because Vigilante and Rogue missions don't carry over to the other side I haven't done them much and just used them transitionally. That may be my loss if there's good story there...
Quote:However in my defense I could claim the bigger fail is the neglect that comes from repetition which, while I can claim my own for not doing the Vigilante/Rogue/Villain missions as well on a regular basis, I can't say I'm probably alone in doing, and missing the point of them for it.
This again, reinforces the fact, that I cherry-pick tip missions I suppose
Cherry-picking? I can see how that causes you to miss out on a lot. -
Quote:WTF? Mangle, Overdrive, Shock Treatment, Hollow Point, and Sky Dragon show up a LOT. What tips have you been playing?Aaaand, you don't hear so much from them in the later levels, especially enough for that to be a relevant impact.
Now if more 40-50 missions involved facing those that stayed heroes or villains, it'd be more relevant. As it is they're, unfortunately, forgettable. -
Quote:Huh? The number is equal concerning villain to hero or hero to villain.I like the idea behind the "Bring Doc Quantum to true justice", but I don't like the mission in and of itself. It's easy, but it's the first step he goes 'over the line' with proof in character terms. It seems in the morality missions, most of the heroes become villains, and a couple of villains become heroes throughout the course of them.
I don't like this because the NPC's, in my mind, should better represent the 'ideals' we're striving toward/breaking from.
Frostfire, Miss Thystle, and Desdemona are all villains that become heroes.
Flambeaux, Doc Quantum, and Polar Shift are all heroes that become villains.
Blast Furnace goes vigilante and Silent Blade goes rogue.
Maelstrom, Hollow Point, Mangle, Overdrive, Ravenstorm, Shock Treatment, Sky Dragon, Stalwart, and Stardusk all stay the same. -
-
That's the level 30 to 39 hero morality tip.

Quote:Maybe Stardiver can sign or hold notecards? If I had a wider pool to choose from, I would. But when I've done, say, four Tip missions for that day and my inventory can only hold one, I don't exactly have the luxury, unless I want to dismiss the contact, go killing stuff and hoping for a drop, only to get another one I don't like.
That said, I DO cherry-pick my Tip missions so that they at least somewhat match the character running them. I dismissed the mission that had Stardiver speak with the Scrapyarder strikers just because Stardiver can't speak. -
