Quote:That's exactly why we're having fun trying to figure it out, despite the bulk of our evidence coming from teasers and personal interests, with just a dash of "why it would make sense if".[...]
I hate how we all make Guess to who is going too die and who going to live, we don't even no. [...]
I guess we just have to be Patience and wait too find out who, Oh Boy Waiting how Awesome!!! -
The big red things are Shivans. The ones in Bloody Bay are made of radioactive corpses, and the ones in Galaxy City are made of rubble and fire. Or something like that.
The big things made of stone/blackened wood stuff with the greenish-blue pods are Praetorian Devouring Earth. -
Explanation from the official website:Quote:So basically, the existing veteran rewards are converted to the new system. You can spend the new system's Reward Tokens on what you had before, but there's also leeway to choose a slightly different progression of rewards because some months' of content is now in the same tier - like, if you're at (making these up - the real numbers can be found elsewhere) 36 months, and tier 3 is months 33 to 42, then you can choose to spend your 33 and 36 month tokens on the 39 and 42 month rewards instead of the 33 and 36 month rewards you currently have. I'm pretty sure there was a thread somewhere dedicated to going over different scenarios, but the site was the fastest way to find an official link.
When the Paragon Rewards program begins, Veteran Rewards and subscription time in City of Heroes® convert to Reward Tokens. You earn: - 1 Reward Token for every Veteran Rewards badge.
- 1 Reward Token for every 12 months of subscription.

Quote:Ghost Widow and Scirocco forever!I think BABs should bite it, and Widow come over from the dark side. Then Manti and Widow can get it on for being the misunderstood people in their bunch, and SP can go crazy cause she lost her man.
Quote:7) You argue the fact that he doesn't show up much is reason to bump him off, and you argue that the fact they're making him show up more is reason to bump him off? /em befuddled
We've seen the same teaser image without the bow, instead with BAB's gloves emitting sparks, or a scratch through Statesman's mask. We've also seen the teaser with all three damaged items together. -
Quote:I'm not sure how that meshes with the ability for Premium members to buy Signature Story Arc access for 400 points. I could see it being $5 for access to a specific month's arc (especially if VIPs only unlock arcs for the months their billing cycle started on). It'd be weird if you can spend $5 and get access to all seven "Who Will Die?" arcs as they come out, as that would make the VIP subscription seem like a bit less of an awesome deal. It would also make more sense to keep each part of the story on the market, available to be purchased. At 400 points, the minimum bundle of points, it'd be a good taste for new players looking to spend money to become Premium members - but only if they can start at the beginning. You may want to remember that while the story will play out for VIPs during those seven months, after that the story may not be there for people to play any more. If you can just replay them in Oro, then they're not as great of a reason to stay subscribed each month to avoid missing part of the story.
I don't think we'll be able to Oro these arcs, and that changes the kind of impact a character death will have, because new players after this won't be able to play through it.
It'd also do nothing but frustrate players and make them question returning to (or since they can return for free, paying for) the game if they can't play the previous part(s), especially if they have to take a break from the game due to school, work, family, or other Real Life problems. It would make a subscriber feel like a VIP if they paid for a few months, have a Real Life situation to deal with, and get to come back to find that even though their subscription expired their account unlocked the Signature Story Arcs for the months their billing cycle started in, waiting to be played. If they pay for 3 months and were gone 4, they even have some points saved up to buy the 4th arc they missed. That's the way it should work. (Or if Paragon's feeling generous and innovative, have "Playable" and "Unlocked" states - Unlocked is bought or VIP-billing-started-during-the-month-of, while Playable is only while actively a VIP and applies to arcs released during months a player wasn't VIP. Incentive to remain a VIP is that they're permanently unlocked or otherwise available to go back and play.)
In short: they should be doing everything possible to make this something people want to spend their money on. Signature Story Arcs won't be a selling point of VIP status if we're on part 3 of 7 and parts 1 and 2 are gone forever. -
The Prezi desktop presentation that Positron posted has a screenshot of the (beta?) store. The two things that stood out to me: a sales timer, and a wishlist button.
It would be awesome if we could buy things on our friends' wishlists for them. -
I've previously said that buttcapes would help the new CoT look.
Now...
Now I fear it might make it worse.
(Actually, I still think it would help the look. Heck, even regular capes would help. Those guys in the trailer with the arcane/high collar robes and hoods now look more mage-like than the Circle of Thorns!) -
Personally, I'd pay $10 for a set I really want. But I'd also be willing to spend $5 on a set that I'm only curious in. So at $10/ea., I'd get only Street Justice. At $5/ea., I could see myself getting all three. (Additionally, I'd rather see things pretty standard at either $5 or $10, because keep in mind we have to buy points first, and I'd be surprised if we have an extremely granular selection of points to choose from. For an item at 600 points I'd probably have to justify buying 800 points and figuring out what to do with the 200 left over. I really hope that doesn't become the case!)

Quote:My first thought was "those powers sound cool!"Travel pool additions! Free for all!
Afterburner: "We figured out a way to break the flight speed barrier. Faster than fast flight. So if group fly is not your thing Afterburner is the power you want as your tier 4 power."
Zone Teleport. Beastyle: "Zone to Zone."
But my second thought was "my main is a warshade..."
Will the inability for Kheldians to access to Fly and Teleport pools be addressed? Or, at the very least, will Peacebringers get an equivalent to Afterburner (for example, choosing that locks out Group Energy Flight) and Warshades an equivalent to Zone Teleport (maybe locking out Nebulous Form)? -
Depending on my interests I might lapse into premium until new incarnate slots are available. I'd like to continue subscribing if I can afford it, but since I don't have alt-itis the two slot unlocks will be enough for me to enjoy my non-incarnates until my incarnates have something new to work towards.

Quote:That's been a part of the Known Issues thread for at least a week (time of the last edit of the thread):I'm not sure if this has been identified yet, but I just found something.
There seems to be some clipping going on with the "Victorian Steampunk 01" piece when not accompanied by the jacket (so when using "Tight", "Tops with Skin", "Magic Bolero" and the "Robotic Arms"). The clipping is around the... er... upper chest area.
There is no clipping when the piece is used with the "Jacket" or "Sleeveless Jacket".

Current advertising says it's included with the $15/mo. (VIP) subscription. So unless you were planning to stop paying, you don't have to pay for it separately from the rest of the game.
Are there any cases of "this is something new players should learn early on (or learn easily) but currently don't/might not encounter at all"? I think it would help to point out examples of the problem; if a dev sees this, and if they're able to address it, then they need a place to start. -

Quote:"To get around these difficulties, the scientists developed and demonstrated a method where human gelatin genes are inserted into a strain of yeast, which can produce gelatin with controllable features." It looks like they're just genetically modifying microbes to have the gelatin qualities derived from our proteins. More like, "Soylent Green is Hamidon!"Soylent Green, it has begun.
Anyways... we could hold a contest for an Enriche mascot. I can pitch in a couple hundred mil, maybe more, and I'd be willing to help judge. -
Well. I'm not sleeping tonight.
(Love this "explanation"!) -

While it would be best if the LFG tab showed the number of players in each queue (Any, Lambda, BAF, and Keyes, currently)...
A short-term solution (one that doesn't require UI work) could be to receive a server message when you enter the queue that tells you how many are in the queue you just entered. -
Quote:If I can make a scrapper or a brute using the same sets then I usually go with scrapper because the orange icon is prettier. This, therefore, is my question to you: What ATs do you play, and what kind of themes, styles and concepts do you see them as representing?
I'm so shallow. -

DarkGob beat me to mentioning smartphones.
Well, I can still mention the CueCat. I think I still have one somewhere.
Anyone remember the CueCat?
... anyone? -
Agreed with Samuel_Tow.
I wish Kheldians didn't have so many knockback powers.I made my warshade because it looked cool; I didn't know anything about the powers other than what they looked and sounded like - aesthetics are what I base my characters on, and I figure out the mechanics as I play. Then I found out the vast majority of my powers did the very thing I hate seeing other people do: throw enemies all over the room. No other secondary effect is both so prevalent in the sets it's in and so disruptive to a team.
It's something that really never should have been put in more than one attack per set; or one attack that always has it, and for the other powers it's only available after using a power, maybe like "Intensity: Certain powers have a chance for knockback for the duration of this effect." Doing this retroactively is probably even less likely than the Null the Gull path, and it's sad that they've considered it, found it feasible to some degree, and rejected it. -
I'd love to occasionally see her call some bouncers, who appear at her side the same way Praetorian Police teleport in. Then Desperate Guy runs to the nearest door or hatch or whatever, with a lame excuse, in denial about why he's retreating.
-
I always look forward to her more devastating turn-downs, and hope to see her shoot him down in new ways.

Recall didn't clear this up the other night, and I can enter a mission alongside people but when we zone in they're gray on the team UI.
This is very bothersome, as I can't tell if I need to pop Rebirth or try to draw aggro away from a dying teammate.
I'm confident it'll be fixed before Freedom (sooner would be nice, though!) since I doubt they want new players to hear, "Yeah, the team window's been broken for months."
