    Serial Code?

Just dug out my GvE box to check. The serial code is on the back of the Pocket D VIP Pass that comes in the box. Carefully scrape away the silvery stripe along the bottom to reveal the code.

Edit: If the website doesn't send you a physical box i'd expect the code to be emailed to you, or if you've already created an NCsoft master account you should be able to apply it in account management. i think.

For me scrapper lock is not reckless abandon. It's more of state where there are largely two things around me: things to kill and invalid targets. On a team i still look for the greatest overall threat and kill it first, then the next greatest and so on, but will switch targets if a teammate's health is dropping rapidly. Solo, or if the rest of the team got wiped anyway, it's simply in order of threat. Either way scrapperlock mean attacking until i run out of valid targets.

    Back to something actually interesting...

i continue to hope for moving tails. Also animated hair as a villain-only unlockable costume piece. i can see moving tails in combination with other animated costume pieces not being that resource intensive if they work more like Nova tendrils or arms and legs where the animations are predefined sequences instead of being like capes. Bear in mind that i am not an animator or an expert on the CoH animation systems, so this is wishful thinking as much as anything else.

That's why i have <alternate tactics and build that was tested away from other players for a short while and filed away for when the current build was nerfed>. Plus new shiny stuff to distract me.

    • 100 NPCs - 1 cape = 75% loss in frame rate
    • 100 NPCs - 3 capes = 92% loss in frame rate
So yes, there is a reason that we don't want players loading themselves down with multiple cape systems.
Does this also apply to wings to the same degree?
Wings look more like they use an animation system like that of other limbs, not the cloth effects of capes.

i think the real issue is that you need to build stouter straw men before you start knocking them down or it makes your position/argument look even weaker than it already is. Oh wait, that isn't the answer you allege everyone gives, therefore it did not happen.

Here: "It's not good at soloing AVs."
    Is that better?

Let me just add I "believe" this mmo will continue operating for another couple of years.
That doesn't conflict with the likelihood that, given the restricted data available, the game is functioning on the lowest operational numbers in it's five plus years, across the board.
Well, a bit less hyperbolic straw man use, but do you really still believe that the reason NCsoft stopped reporting the subscription numbers for all its games, thus bringing its reporting practices in line with other MMO publishers, was solely because of declining CoH numbers? Really?

i expect GR to give a healthy boost to the numbers when it comes out, and i really do think a fair bit of the most recent income slump might be slightly related to the economy. No, really.

The few catgirls i've made are usually more animalistic and brutish than the average catgirl. It helps reduce unwanted attention. (My one catgirl is a mace/SR brute that carries a half-gnawed bone for bludgeoning enemies. Less risk of breaking a claw that way. )

Immortality is not nearly the same as infallible.
Death is not required for suspense.
Nor is death required for removal from the stage/events of a story.
And it's not always permanent even when the one who dies isn't an immortal.

Jack can still fail at what he's trying to do, and he can still be removed from 'the game' and his goals denied despite his immortality. After all, he's not omnipotent. Seal him in a container of some sort and fling him into an orbit that skims the event horizon of a black hole. Ten years of personal time later he gets freed and thirty millenia have passed for everybody else, making whatever his goals were, even in the fairly long term, effectively moot. Having a Tardis, or simply being the Doctor, does more for your ability to influence events in both the long and short term than simply not dying. Would anybody argue that the Doctor has had less influence over history than Jack despite his theoretically much shorter lifespan?

i like humorous posts. Keep it up.

i wouldn't mind of the drop rates were bumped up slightly, but i've been doing fine so far on the alts i care enough about to actually put effort into IOing them. The others have been doing fine with SOs and whatever IOs drop.

In this game, the worst he could do is follow a low level character around and killsteal while I'm trying to finish a street sweeper mission. All I have to do to remove an idiot from my PVE game is ignore them and enter a mission without them on my team.

In PVP, ignoring an idiot doesn't help. They can still kill you. Since that is also the kind of person that thinks teabagging is funny, they'll often have custom emotes setup for the sole purpose of being offensive. And if they can keep finding me, they can interfere with whatever I'm doing over and over. Which is why I don't enter the PVP zones. Ever. Not for Shivans, not for nukes, not for badges. Not even for the exploration/lore badges that are still needed for accolades that would grant me a permanent health or endurance bonus.
On a related tangent, this is also one of the bigger complaints about CO. They decided to emphasize open world over instanced missions, presumably because reverting to the oldest model of MMO design is best and the result was griefing where players would camp quest objective spawn points and harass other players by killing the objective before those with the mission could. There are always players who find the most fun in hindering the fun or enjoyment of others.

There are some really mature, helpful PvPers, but on the forums and in game the most vocal and prolific members of the PvP community have normally been the jackholes who apparently feel that winning can only occur if someone else loses. This has lessened quite a bit since many of the more offensive PvPers left when the new mechanics were added, but the newer system also diminished the PvP community as a whole.

Still, my experience in zones has been that most of the time no one can hinder pursuit of accolade-related badges for very long or very effectively. Things like nukes and Shivans is a little different, but both are generally much easier with a team anyway, which helps a great deal when confronting persistent griefers. They tend not to enjoy having to face multiple defeats even if they also succeed at hindering players.

i'll admit to having been a jerk in PvP on one occasion. A bots MM was attempting to attack a firebase in Bloody Bay and i kept confusing his bots. After a couple minutes i stopped. It was obviously pointless since my build didn't have enough damage to defeat him anyway, so all it was doing was interfering with his fun. i guess i have some sort of personality flaw where making others unhappy doesn't really add to my happiness. Pleasure is not a zero sum game.

Give a shout in the forums for whichever server it was located on. Mention the character names that were in it and probably someone will be able to help you.

Yes, actually. What i would like to see is something that's more of compromise between the original PvP mechanics and the current system. Recently i've had a fair bit of fun in PvP, but it was silly, casual scrums with a bunch of friends. i even got a Gladiator's Net recipe and someone else got a Gladiator's Javelin recipe. We sold them and then split the proceeds with everyone who played in the match. Neither recipe was one of the uber-demand recipes, but even split ten ways everyone got a nice chunk of inf.

    And a corollary...

If you want Base Raiding/the Cathedral of Pain, what should be different this time around?
The CoP should work as intended this time around.
Base raids were okay, but tended to be hideously laggy. i'm not really sure how i would like base raids under the current PvP system, but i'd be happy to give them a shot if/when they return.

    As such, not signed.

Additionally, Flash Arrow does not display any redundancies. It doesn't do anything that any other TA power does, or any secondary power, nor are -Perception and -ToHit redundant effects. What Flash Arrow does do is similar to what powers like Shadow Fall or Steamy Mist do, offer some mediocre defensive protection to the player and allies and reduce enemy perception. Ergo, Flash Arrow is no more "redundant" than those PBAoE Stealth/Defense powers are.
Perhaps the OP is not aware what redundant actually means.

Isn't this how debuff resistances work in game? Otherwise cascade defense failure would happen much faster than it does (if one is softcapped and has def debuff resist), because being hit would mean you lose some defense.

I admit I've not sat in Cim with my %'s window open to verify this, but that's what I've read in guides.
Interesting. Are these guides posted on the forums here, and can you post links and examples?

As has already been mentioned, that is not at all what happens when a debuff hits. i'm pretty sure any guides that say what you claim they do would've been corrected long ago if they were posted to these forums. Flash Arrow is autohit outside of PvP.

Anyone who has Team TP can verify that you can teleport *a lot* farther than just 25 ft.

(Teleport, in comparison, is 300 feet unenhanced. Two Range SOs in Team Teleport bring the range to 315 ft.)
i've used team teleport and it's range is indeed much farther than 25'. 225' Sounds about right. Masterminds or pre-designed superteam ambushes aside it's rarely a very useful power. Once again i will state my support for adding a version of Fold Space/Assemble the Team/Summon Teammates as an alternate third tier power.

Well, compared to the resistable debuffs the end result is impressive against most AVs.

That said, there is no "blind" status effect for critters. The "blinded" warning that pops up for players just refers to the -perception that some powers have, but -perception against AI-controlled critters only reduces aggro range and does nothing more after a spawn or critter is aggroed due to how critter AI functions.

i've had it on a few alts who used it mostly for Hami raids at different points, though it really depends on the current raid strategy. It can be very useful for attacking the higher mitos. The easy availability of the jetpacks has largely made it unnecessary. The massive tohit debuff makes it mostly unwanted.
