i'm always feeling adventurous. If they invite me and the team leader is an idiot i leave shortly afterwards. If i've got nothing better to do i might stay and watch the train wreck a bit until something comes up.

The fact that you seem to think you have to sit around and wait for some undefined circumstances to copyright something makes me think you also have no idea what you're talking about there as well. Or maybe you don't realize that copyright, patents, and trademark are all different things with different requirements. The only thing i know for certain is your statement makes no sense on its face in the real world.

I wouldn't help this game if my life depended on it either. They don't care about us customers, least of all the non-VIP who still spend money, and they don't listen to the obvious problems this game has.

I just got treated very poorly by customer support so no more Mr. Helpful. I'm telling it like I now feel, abused and unwanted.

Make whatever jokes you want. They just prove how horrible this community sure as hell seems right now. A community the company representatives love being that horrible so long as they get their almighty dollar.
It's more because you're being an entitled, petty, egocentric, narcissistic jerk*. Well, mostly. Also your sheer stubborn refusal to understand fairly straightforward aspects of games, networking, system design, etcetera contributes a bit.

*Technically those adjectives are a bit redundant used together, but your approach to being a jerk is diverse and nuanced enough that it seems appropriate.

    It's as simple as that.
i've recently seen you in several threads insisting the Devs are incompetent fools who somehow accidentally kept the game going for over eight years despite totally ignoring the players and vindictively trying to make the game worse when they don't outright ignore them. You insist they can't do anything right, but i've come to suspect that anything that doesn't directly cater to exactly what you personally want is automatically wrong and a sign of incompetence in your eyes. If they knew what they were doing everyone would do exactly what you want them to do and nothing else. i call bovine feces on that.

Of course the OP is silly since anyone can blind invite and anyone can play the game now. The incident is no more a reflection on the server or the game than a random /b/ image macro. There are always selfish idiots everywhere, but it's the helpful people who matter. Champion still has excellent, helpful players regardless of whether the occasional numpty makes an appearance. Heck, it even has people who keep articulated lorries, which is badass.

    Leechplattering

i sort of get the platter bit. i mean, it probably refers to wanting things on a silver platter, but then it doesn't work with the leeching bit. The definition of leeching i know is not contributing while receiving the same rewards as those who do. The person looking for a team certainly didn't say anything to indicate an intention to not contribute to any league they joined, so maybe that was info only known to the OP.

i can if it's a smart enough donkey to know what a minefield is before entering it.

The PvP i enjoyed most was getting together with a bunch of friends and just having fun. Sometimes forming teams and sometimes just going free-for-all. Whether in arena, bases, and zones.

That's pretty much why i rarely PvP except that i understand the basic how and why of my powers working differently and generally don't like it.

i agree. While never an avid PvPer i did enjoy the occasional foray into PvP zones far more prior to the i13 changes despite the fact that the powerset combinations i played were nowhere near the top sets in PvP. CoH PvP can never be truly balanced or fair, but i think if PvP was adjusted to play more like it used to/more like the PvE game it would be more accessible and enjoyable. Despite the imbalances and my fondness for sets frequently considered sub-par in PvP i did enjoy it more before it was New Coked.

It's not that i want a return to pre-i13 PvP so much as i would like to see many of the changes dialed back about 50% or so. i used to joke that if the players suggested three methods of balancing an overpowered set or mechanic that would each address the issue by themselves the original Dev team would then proceed to implement all three at once. Admittedly that was partially hyperbole, but it was also because the head honchos had less of a grasp of how the combat system actually worked back then, so throwing changes at the wall/game and seeing what stuck was actually almost reasonable.

Anyway, if you did want it the odds are you'd have the full set of Elemental Order costume pieces within a dozen packs or so. The costume pieces are very heavily weighted in the packs and the set really is quite nice.

Ah, yeah, putting apostrophes in plurals is a pet peeve of mine as well, especially considering there are no exceptions to that particular rule to justify doing it, unlike almost every other rule of the English language.
The phrasing of the post was a bit too absolute for my current state of mind since it didn't make any references to that specific rule.

    Mitigation.

More specifically mitigation comparable to other ATs even including damage output as part of the equation. This has been covered in many, many other threads, even including data from the Devs and detailed statistical analysis by other players. Fortunately there will not be a test. Per se.

Well if a single Siren owns something it's the Siren's.
If multiple Sirens own something it's the Sirens', yes?
So in those contexts apostrophes make sense.

Also, i would love a sonic/music themed set that didn't focus on loud screechy noises; something more traditionally musical, possibly using instruments. Somewhat ironically i suppose considering some of the music i regularly listen to, but there it is.

Hopefully. The last time i read his blog he said he wasn't being credited in the movie, but it's still in production so that's hardly certain.

    Interesting. That would be amusing.
Oh, and adapting some of Livewires, especially some of the dialogue, for an Iron Man movie would be interesting. BUT, it depends on whether the Livewires characters were created under a work-for-hire contract or as creator-owned characters. Marvel is much less likely to use Livewires material if they have to share any proceeds with someone else.

Apparently Warren Ellis isn't even receiving any credit for the Extremis elements of the movie since he wrote that storyline as a work-for-hire and has no ownership claims to it at all. (Which Ellis is perfectly fine with and understood when going into it. He does mention that it's also why he generally avoids work-for-hire gigs in comics.)

You have to be hero/vigilante to receive the accolade, as i stated*, but once you have it you keep it.

*i said that they would need to go hero since as a rogue there's no way to skip hero and go straight to vigilante.

However, more than that, I wonder if features are ever discussed to actually pit villains vs heroes? For example, quests built around two teams competing for objectives where the villains need to do one thing, and the heroes another?

It just seems that the fact that there are both villain and hero paths is largely wasted due to the lack of competition between the two camps, and PvE seems like it would get old quickly even with the large amount of content.
Freedom, Virtue, and Champion have fairly active PvP populations.
There are plenty of other challenges (competitive and otherwise) available besides directly fighting other players once you hit the level cap. Still, you can find PvP if you look around in the right places and it's almost like learning a new game that's similar to, but also different from, the PvE game since many combat mechanics work differently in the PvP environment.

Still, PvP is not a significant part of the game for most players, so if PvP is essential to your enjoyment of an MMO this may not be the ideal game. i'd still suggest playing until it's no longer fun. Also, if you like to try out different playstyles this game has a huge amount of variety in that area with the number of different archetypes (classes) available. Even different powerset combinations in the same archetype can play very differently from each other.

    1. A bug.

    2. I did Penny Yin TF instead of Sis P. (This kind of builds off Point #1)

    3. I'm a Rogue so I don't get the badge or Bonus

Now, could this be a bug? Or do I now have to do Invader Accolade to get the bonus? (Going hero permanetly is NOT an option)
As i recall many side-specific badges and accolades require you go fully hero or villain before awarding. You can always continue on back towards villain, but you have to go fully blue to get the accolade.

Well, the fact that right this very moment you can try out the set on the beta server (if you're a VIP) does make the art easier to find, so he's technically correct.

Also, there's art on the beta server indicating a Staff Fighting set, true story.

There is also that "Go To The Spot I'm Clicking" command... i'm pretty sure it still exists because i've used it in the past to make a pet leave melee range, but it has been a while since i played a Mastermind much.
Now admittedly there are occasions when they won't listen to *any* commands for more than 2 or 3 seconds, but that's a slightly different problem. Anyway, using "go to" and "attack my target" after each other has previously worked for getting my bots to shoot from range. Also useful for ordering them away from damage patches, but that's only useful if the command is still in the game and if the pets listen.
