Quote:Oh, i bloody well know what i'll be doing...Pre-order either version, get the early access to the GR powersets.
Get the CE version ($40 version) and get the goodies listed (Alpha/Omega stuff, etc) when GR goes LIVE in July.
Pre-ordering the CE version of course. -
Quote:Actually, the best group to ask about melee builds is the Scrapper forums. In fact i'd suggest checking there for builds that are already posted for Elec/Shield. The Scrapper forums has the most knowledgeable posters when it comes to maximizing melee builds. These are the sorts who invented the RWZ challenge: fighting level 54 RWZ spawns with no inspirations or temp powers used.Yeah I was referring to melee defense. My melee is softcapped at 45% not my ranged, i can't seem to work that in >.<. gonna check brute forums, but i figure i can get a better response here.
And yes i have mids
Unless you're farming inf there's not much needed to fight at +2/x8. The recipe and salvage drop rate is the same at +0 or +1/x8, but +2 is more fun if your build can handle it. -
He's saying that his build is soft capped to melee and 32% to ranged, not soft capped at 32.
-
Quote:Best place to ask this would be in the Brutes or Archetypes & Powers General Discussion forums.I need some help. My build has soft capped melee def and about 32 to ranged, and my recovery is kinda terrible. So, I'm looking for a brute that can handle +2 X8 with bosses. Could someone help me out with a build that I can tweak. Prefer someone with experience on this sort of brute. Mine does ok, but i need purps and constantly need more end.
Do you have Mids' Hero & Villain Designer? It's easier for people to make suggestions if they know what build you're currently using, and Mids' makes it easy to post and modify build plans. -
Quote:Interesting. If the custom animations only play when you set them as a group then my SD/SS Tanker is still SOL until a new patch fixes things. Much like Kheldarn i do not like all the alternate animations for any of the sets.wait wait wait you got the custom punches and kicks to work with the shield out? please tell how excatly
-
Quote:What Dragon King said. Currently custom animations aren't working with shields, so if your Scrapper is MA/Shield the custom animations won't play outside of the tailor screen.Does the character use a shield? If so then this is a known problem and is something I have an issue with also on my shield/SS tanker. I believe Bab's has said they have fixed this but the update has not made it to the live servers yet.
Edit: If your MA user is a Stalker then it's a new bug to me. -
Quote:That reminds me of an incident a few years ago where an SG had all sorts of issues of not being able to change SG settings and it turned out that they had to get a character named 'Goto' manually removed from the roster to fix it.Oh yeah? I just created another hero, who's name is:
Son of Foomonkey');INSERT INTO Villains ('global_name', 'character_name') VALUES ('Kheldarn', 'Barney Dino Fan');-- -

Quote:The problem is still that to add weapons to a non-weapon set you have to create new animations to call/use the weapon. This got me thinking since you guys were saying these blast come from one point and it would require all new animations for them what about an arm cannon for something like energy blast.
like this keep one arm normal for the sweep attacks like Energy Torrent and then for the other blast the 2 hands alreadys come together so it would just look like it's coming from the arm cannon.
On the gripping hand, if the weapon is just a costume piece it's really no different from using the large robotic gloves with your blast set, but with the caveat that you still need to modify the animations for all attacks that would use the non weapon hand, so there's still a need for new animations to be incorporated. -
Quote:Same here. i was imagining one of the 5th Column Grenade Launchers firing katanas. Or maybe a Malta mech style rocket/katana pod launching them in the usual manner. That's sorta what I thought when I saw "Katana Blasters"
Except I was thinking about some kind of gun that shot katanas out of the barrel. -

Well, cold is less resisted than energy in general. There are very few enemies or sets with significant cold resistance.
-
i like the regular rubber and plastic basters myself.
Any particular reason for elec as your primary? It's a decent set, and it looks cool, but generally not considered the best.
Someone else will have to answer on whether Boost Range will boost Teleport, but from what i understand how Boost Range works it should work with Teleport. -

I think you've made a compelling case for "too much white space"...
And the occasional punctuation mark.
Floating lonely in a void of meaninglessness.
Won't somebody please think of the poor, orphaned punctuation marks? -
Quote:Many times you don't have to use IO sets to softcap defense if you're a defense set. Also, most defense sets also get resistance to defense debuffs. Something which can't be achieved through IO slotting.Um. So what's the plan for those of us who play a defense set and can't afford to softcap it with IO sets? Do we get to just die over and over?
Without resistance to defense debuffs a softcapped build can easily experience cascade failure once a defense debuff attack hits them. A number of which are autohit. My Crab, who is a Hover user with nearly softcapped ranged defense and no debuff resistance, experienced this earlier today against Longbow. And Crabs have moderate resistances as well, but once the debuffs hit and kept piling on with the damage there wasn't time to get away.
Softcapping can be done by the 30's using no IO's for defense sets. Others require far more effort and few achieve softcap before the late game. Also, defense set users don't need to worry as much about defense bonuses and can focus on improving other aspects. -
Quote:This. Also, this again. Also, also, what Grey Pilgrim just posted. This has been repeated back at you continually. I'm not sure why you're not reading people's more than thoughtful responses to you. As you just said, you get "new" influence from defeating foes... which includes selling their drops to vendors. And clicking on glowies and completing missions.
There are more level 50s in the game now, and they can make more influence than they did before exemplered... all of that adds up to making more "new" influence than money sinks like market fees take out. It's simple, stop trying to overcomplicate it.
And the many, many others who posted before saying the same thing.
Number of players doesn't directly alter pricing since supply and demand both follow population.
However, the new difficulty settings do make it easier to generate more influence. For example, my DM/Elec Brute sometimes now warms up by running around some RWZ maps punching Rikti in the face and defeating a number of enemies that used to require five to seven teammates to spawn them, and does it solo. Between that and improved inf earning at higher levels it's no surprise that prices might rise. The only way to increase the inf supply in game is to earn mission rewards, sell junk and hit things in the face. People are doing that. i am doing that. Lately i've been doing that more as i focus more on the builds of my various 50's as i await Going Roge to decide what i'm going to do with my lowbies. Seriously, i've been playing my lower level alts less and focusing more on my 40+ alts. Result? More inf. Also, people are far more willing to invite lower level alts to high level missions now that SSK guarantees they are always capable of contributing something. -
-
Quote:Fixed. (No, really. It was an obvious typo.)Nope, contacts only care about your security or threat level (trained level) not your combat (SSK'd) level.
Exactly. Some contacts have their level range set to go all the way to 50, but most have a fairly narrow range where they'll talk to you and give you missions. It's usually, but not always, roughly the same range as the enemies in that zone. -
Quote:i know, right?Traps is a good set, if used correctly, removed from the game? No.
Its just not utilized in a manner that you see, for a defender? Probably not, but they'd be rather annoying.
i mean it's not actually a good set, but i've played far worse.
And pairing it with Dual Pistols for a gadgeteeer/suyperspy themed character? Ludicrous! -

Quote:That's rather nice of you. In fact i'm not going to dissect the numerous errors and mistaken assumptions that leave your post hovering between feeling like damning with faint praise and authentic thanks, which was my first impulse when i started reading the post.I wrote a bunch of times how Maintenance times/schedules were screwing around with Australian game-time, with increasingly bitter messages, culminating in my 'screw it, if these keeps up, I'm outta here'.
Someone listened to the piteous whining, about something that just did not affect 99.5% of all players (because maintenance at 9am on a weekday is hardly 'serious game time' disturbing), and Did Something.
That change of schedules from twice-a-week Monday/Friday maintenance, to Once A Week Thursday maintenance has been totally awesome. Mondays are now viable. Friday evenings are now a prime time extravaganza. No more 'oh, we can't start this TF because it's maintenance tonight', no more Annoying Admin Messages from Hell about impending maintenance on Mondays and Fridays, driving off the few people who bothered to logon.
It's been a remarkable change, which has revitalised The Game for many Australian and GMT+10 players in countries such as New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore.
Since I wrote such a lot damning the decisions to have regular and unannounced maintenance on so many days of the week, and had written nothing about the new 'revamped' schedule, I thought I'd correct my omission, and publicly applaud the people who made it happen.
Thanks NCSOFT, for coming up with a solution which has greatly alleviated a problem for us Aussies. Thanks very much indeed.
Excession.
Glad to hear the new schedule works out well for you.
Now go. Hunt. Play CoX.
