Quote:Come back in a few months when the Incarnate stuff comes out. If i was tired of the current game that's what i would do.I agree with the OP.
That being said, on my FB I have constantly tried to get more people to come back to this game with the 7 day trial account. Explaining to them all that have changed. I swear, the biggest thing I have come across is people not knowing that debt doesn't suck anymore.
How long has that change been in effect? Forever.
Things people who have tried the demo have said they liked:
Powers Customization, except you can't change travel power colors...
The exp smoothing, they seem to like.
Praetoria looks new and exciting, but the maps are all the same after awhile...
Lots of Powers to chose from...
That is pretty much all the feedback I have gotten.
My husband and I played through the Loyalist story. We slowed down, took us about a week. Blah.
His biggest whine was, "Why in the Hell was all this new content Pre-Stamina?" and my biggest whine was, "Omg... Nothing to do after leaving Praetoria."
So we are not back to where we were Pre-expansion. Not Logging in. On my Global List, I think we saw 3 out of 72 log back in for the expansion. I have talked to others on FB, and they said they are waiting til there is new things to do on their 50's... Other than switch sides. (they have done all the content on both sides of the game and have no desire to do it again)
I really, really wish Incarnates had been the paid expansion... and Going Rogue would have just been a really big Issue 18.
As it is i've only just finished the two main Loyalist arcs and still working on my Resistance alts. My Loyalist ill/emp went redside. Illusions and deception has generally been a more villainous schtick in comics anyway. That and doing some side switching and other stuff. Also teaming with people i know and just having fun blowing stuff up together.
If you're not getting that out of the game do what i've done a couple times and take a break from playing. If you still don't enjoy it then it may be time to move on to other things. No point in subscribing to a game you don't enjoy.
Regarding your signature: i haven't personally managed to go back in time more than a few picoseconds. Luckily i was still enjoying the game that far back. If you've found a way of traveling back in time that beats that i'm quite interested in learning the method. -
To be fair, the part you're not seeing was either an addendum in B_I's head, or B_I has reading comprehension issues when any subtlety or nuance is involved. Most likely the latter.

Quote:Fun bit: There are some Praetorian arcs where one of the heavy Clockwork units assist you in missions. Well, Clear Mind now uses the *smack* style animation, and every time you give the bot a dose of Clear Mind he briefly pops open the chest beam housing and the back-mounted arc blaster like he's irritated about being smacked.Yeah had been noted
I think when experiencing new parts of the game it's good to be surprised by it. -

Well, Aion does not seem to be doing all that well, and A_S did say "several". So far his "several" seems to translate to "zero" since he hasn't actually offered a one as an example.

Quote:A few of my characters have direct links to any system that isn't shut down and sealed in a block of cement, but i get where you're coming from. That's sort of my point: unless the character has been told where the other character in question is from, IC, they have no realistic way of knowing another toon's affiliation and AT.
Also, the registration document isn't a badge that characters wear, so IC information held on it shouldn't be used unless you go to City Hall and RP reading up on it. -
Quote:Ach, sorry to hear that.Aww guys... I have just moved to Kenya to take up a great position.
I cannot get CoH to work! It just says it is connecting... don't worry support is on the case... am really missing playing. I just thought I would share that with you all.
I got to have 3 days playing with GR. I want to play so badly!!
*Hangs up cape and Mask*

"Kenya play?"
"No."
"Kenya connect?"
"No."
"Kenya tell me why?"
"No."
"Kenya get support to help?"
"Yes."
"Well, good luck then." -
Quote:You post like you're a slightly below average child and you expect us to take you seriously and be upset by your inane prattling?I don't like any of the GR crap, the best stuff they released was free issue 18 stuff and there wasn't a lot of that either.
I know people are gonna be butthurt about my post cause lolCoHfanboys but seriously this game and it's developers have nothing to offer anymore.
*snerk*
No, i don't think so.

Quote:i like this suggestion. While I usually am a proponent of Dark Armor, I doubt the OP wants the visual effects associated with it.
I'd suggest the stalker. Are you familiar with the Assassination Strike demoralize effect? It causes fear in the enemies, which may be what you're looking for.
Regardless, I'd go kinetic melee. It looks more "martial arts-y" to me than Martial Arts, but that's probably due to my high interest in kung fu (as opposed to karate).
i'd second a MA or KM Stalker. For a secondary i'd go with either Regen or WP. Probably WP. -
Quote:All they did was reduce the damage. The recharge is the same as ever, and the old damage levels were unbalanced.that's too bad they changed it, made it less fun. The faster recharge would have been really wise. It seems like fun in a world of death and war is bad to game developers. I will never see how they can rationalize making things less fun, when games should always=fun because life=too short. Oh well. I need more knockdown I think. =(
It may not be optimal, but if you really want Air Superiority's knockup i'd say go for it. Against most enemies below EB level it's generally excellent soft control and is still the best power pool attack. i'd probably substitute it for one of the other ST attacks. -

Quote:The RNG can be very random. Even when the rolls aren't what i'm looking for there are usually a few i can sell for enough to get some of the ones i actually wanted. Then there are the times when every recipe is one that i can use. Random is random. It is rare for me to roll a new toon, I really enjoy the high level game, and I don't have any form of alt-itice. I have been with the game off and on since launch have 4 50s and enjoy playing them. On the rare occasion I am motivated to roll a new toon I plan his final build well in advance and have the enhancements ready to go when the new toon can start slotting the IOs.
So all that to ask, with the new HAMs I thought with 82? total slots to fill I should do a few rolls and see how many I can knock out at 5:1 before I start having to buy them 1:1 or 1:2 or on the market at their going inf rate.
Last night I did 3 rolls 15 recipes and not one was useful to my new toon. Disappointing to say the least.
Am I doing it wrong? does RNG hate me? how do ya'll do it ? -
Oh, i quite agree. Waiting until just before GR's launch to start the ad campaign wasn't a bad decision at all. Much better than starting early and having to keep saying that they have cool stuff coming soon. Comic books and MMO fansites are a pretty good choice for where to allocate the budget.

Apparently so. It's like when a band goes through several lineups: only the lineup that was current when you got into the band is the true lineup. The rest don't really count.

Quote:Yeah, i've dealt with similar issues when discussing and designing club fliers. It's been well documented that people who read things online often don't bother (or don't know enough!) to scroll down one page. But you all think that a web site listing is sufficient to make people put down their comic book and look up the thing the ad is advertising to see what it is? Or that people read comic books always in their home next to a computer fired up with a browser running to check on these things?
You don't know marketing or human behavior. Unfortunately, neither does Marketing.
One sentence is a "ton" of copy?
You don't know what a "ton" is, do you?
i can't tell you the number of club events that left out significant information on the flier. Like giving the day of the week, but leaving out the month and year. Supplying a street address without mentioning what city or state it's in. Providing little or no contact info at all. Not listing any sort of schedule/hours. The list can go on forever.
Some fliers visually incredible, but absolutely useless for letting people know what they need to show up. When i design one i try to make sure that all the needed info is somewhere on the flier with the basic info most prominent and the rest present even if it's less obvious and unobtrusive. It's generally not that hard to fit more detailed info into the design without distracting from the main visuals. That way it's there to find if the viewer finds it interesting enough to take a second/closer look. -

My Radiation Emission users utilize Radiation Infection to make veteran attacks and temporary powers more effective in the early to mid levels. In fact veteran attacks and temp powers tend be a significant part of my attack chain in the lower levels for my Controllers, Corruptors and Defenders. i also eventually take Tactics on most alts.

Just an additional thought: while i disagree with most of O_I's 'reasoning', i think that it's not unreasonable to increase the number of freespecs available, and i expect to see an upgrade/revamp of the respect system in the next several issues to make it more friendly to IO users.

Quote:It's arch-e-type. Archetype. No, really. As far as I am aware:
Leaving Praetoria and choosing Villain will unlock Faction Exclusive Villain Archtypes.
You will only be able to start a Faction Exclusive Villain Archtype as a Villain.
Leaving Praetoria and choosing Hero will unlock Faction Exclusive Hero Archtypes.
You will only be able to start a Faction Exclusive Hero Archtype as a Hero.
Unless, of course, you were referring to arches. Even then there should be a space between arch and type. Grammar fascism moment over, i return you to your regularly scheduled conversation. -
More or less this. Although i do have a couple characters with more pvp oriented second builds. Which i very rarely use. i generally get a build to where it's well above average for most situations and then just use actual player skill as a crutch from there, so with most powerset combos i don't need to use a second build to both solo and team well, and even pvp rarely requires a completely different build. Although in my opinion pvp is where a second build is most needed to perform well.

Quote:If you have 10 characters that are high enough level and high performance enough that you feel the need to do multiple new builds on all of them every time an issue comes out i submit that you must be an awful player if you can't afford a measly billion influence at that level of performance. Seriously, not since GDR and ED have there been changes sweeping enough to make respecs of all builds on all characters something close to necessary.let's say someone has 10 characters that use 2 builds. they will need to run 10 respec trials or use up 10 vet specs or spend 1bill inf or spend $100.
now when people start using a 3rd build they will need to run 20 respec trials or use 20 vet specs or spend 2 bill inf or spend $200.
Quote:sorry people but freespecs are given when changes are made not just because the devs are nice. the 1 freespec only is outdated now that we have 2 builds and eventually we will have 3.
Quote:i know some of you can't comprehend certain things but providing 1 freespec per active build when changes are made is called good customer service and yes we are entitled to it. -
Quote:So i guess the second half of my post could be seen as somewhat agreeing with you?there was a discussion about this in the GR section were evidence was shown that on average somewhere between 10-20% of the population pvp'd and that number slowly dived downward after i13 hit. its not hard to say that a pvp reversion/rebalance (assuming the devs use logic/reason/math this time) would do 3 things. 1) bring in new players that are intersted in pvp 2) make your current pvp community that hasn't left yet much happier 3) bring back old players that left due to i13. either way I find it completely stupid to say that pvp fixes aren't worth it because the population is so low because they changed it. a relatively low percent(atleast the same amount as before i13) of the population RPs/hardcore badges but there are still new things implemented and fixes with every patch and issue.
Quote:That said, i would like to see some changes made to pvp mechanics. Making pvp closer to pve again would be a nice change in my opinion. While i've never been a regular pvper i did like it more prior to the i13 mechanics.
A mixed pvp/pve zone might not be a bad idea if done well. Something like Warburg, but you choose whether to be pvp enabled when entering, or talk to a contact in the zone to change the flag. Set it so that pve mode prevents buffing/debuffing/healing of those in pvp mode and vice versa. Add some pvp mode rewards/content/events/critters that require pvp mode to fight against or align with. Story-wise some sort of temporal war zone would make sense and allow a blend of play modes and affiliations. Just a thought. -
