Well, while Virtue is the unofficial RP server, it does not mean that the majority of the players constantly RP. It's simply the server where it's easiest to find RP groups if you like that sort of thing.
Serious RP usually requires looking for teams and groups. More casual RP mostly happens at a few locations.

Otherwise it's not that different from playing on any other server.

    This.

Hey BlueMyth, welcome to the game. You can also leverage slotting (as was already mentioned) and game mechanics to do some crazy things. The aggro cap is set at 17 and most target caps for attacks are set to 16 because otherwise players used to herd up and wipe out entire maps in one go.

One of my favorite things is that no AT is needed to team or solo with the exception of a few encounters, and even that is pretty flexible. When it comes to powergaming/leveraging game mechanics buff/debuff focused ATs are some of the most powerful. Also the squishiest, but that can be overcome with strategy and builds.

Offhand i don't know of any other MMO where you can take a halfway competent group playing any mix of character types and tackle any Task Force/Strike Force/Trial (which are the game's equivalent of WoW's dungeons) at the standard difficulty. TF/SF/Trials are also some of the only minimum level-gated content.

Also, once you join a few channels and make a few friends it's generally pretty easy to find teams, and with global chat and friends lists you can keep track of what's going on while playing any character on any server. So feel free to make alts on any server that catches your eye.

So instead of the devil wannabe being Draco in leather pants it's more like he was a convenient patsy who was used to usher in a new dork age for Spider Man.

This i agree with. The implementation is nothing a PvE player would have suggested. While they may have listened to some PvE players' complaints about getting ganked constantly on squishies the solution that was used is nothing most PvE players would've wanted.

Edit: To be honest i almost think the Devs saying "l2p or don't pvp" might've been a better solution. Not that i hate every single aspect of the i13 pvp changes, but the total package... bleh.

Gonna go with the Tyger on this one, Angelxman81.

Of course your posting again after these posts further demonstrates how accurate your statements tend to be anyway.

The only way you're right in your asssertions is if you cherry-pick your timeframe for evaluating the release for free and paid costume pieces into a (series of) very narrow window(s) and then put your fingers in your eyes and go "lalalala! i can't read your reply!" when someone points out how inaccurate your assumptions are; which is what you've consistently done.

And just to make it clear, despite the fact that i'm automatically a fanboy just by having the gall to not agree with your wrongness, i still want to see more free costume pieces in the game. i'm just not willing to make **** up in order to ***** about not getting them all the time.

Not really liking this design all that much, but then i've seen very few uses of the robotic monstrous legs that look at all good in my opinion. The robotic feet tend to transition very badly from all the available leg designs available to monstrous leg users. Most of the proposed designs i've seen from players in this thread look better.

Then again i also thought Apex's new look was pretty bad when it was first revealed. i still think that, and i sort of doubt this design will grow on me either.

Not that i have to like a contact's fashion sense to undertake missions for them.

This is, of course, all just my opinion.

You should go back in and retroactively add some things for the people that did get ripped off by this thing before they realized the true lack of extent of the lack of interesting things in it. Add 3-4 new full costumes or something. Shoot, I have been sending in suggestions for arrow quivers, holsters, spears, some very modern SWAT type long guns, their "machine guns" and other types of weapons and other cool things. It's about time that you took some of those up.

Come on for all of our sakes. If you did just those things you'd sell a jillion of them and make the national debt in money back for you!!

I would also like the DEVs to set the minimim spawn sizes and get an idea for what they envision as the minimum intended team size for each Task Force.

Now I realize that this will create issues with the idiots ranting that they cannot complete the Oro STF on their FF defender because the 'mobs keeping showing up hugeee'. Also, there may be some reduction of people looking to team in a way that the DEVs pretty clearly see as the kind of teaming they intend adn would like to promote. That potential alone may prevent it happening, but this seems like a decent compromise.

    Cheers
    Sounds reasonable to me.

I want to do this! What's This?
The term "upscale casual" is usually applied to the type of clothing appropriate for a particular occasion or a type of restaurant, referring both to the restaurant itself and the expected dress for that type of restaurant. Both references may vary somewhat according to area, but there are some generally applicable guidelines.
    Dress for Women
Women should keep in mind that while dressy jeans or pants with a good-looking top will be appropriate, skirts and dresses are often worn at upscale casual events and restaurants.
    Dress for Men
Dark, pressed jeans are sometimes considered appropriate when worn with a collared shirt; slacks are always an acceptable choice. Jackets are usually optional; ties are not necessary.
    Footwear
Generally speaking, street shoes are considered appropriate for upscale casual, but not tennis shoes, flip-flops or other beach-type footwear.
    Unacceptable Items

Mind you, i don't necessarily consider columnists the ultimate arbiters of fashion. (That would be Arbiter Fabulous.)

In essence, it looks like you two are talking about two different topics, though both are costume related.
Except that new costumes pieces were less frequent before boosters. Depending on whether the Good vs. Evil box counts as a booster since its costume pieces were a perk for buying a particular box. In which case... *huh* Booster packs have been around for most of the game's existence.

    So, moving the goalposts?
Obviously, as Forbin pointed out, if you're talking complete sets and not individual pieces then there's never been a time since launch that we received them with any regularity for free, and only with some regularity as paid options since the booster packs started being marketed. So, uhh... yeah, now this complaint makes even less sense. Few costume sets were added before booster packs were introduced, and even most of those were either perks that came with purchasing a particular box (and thus not free) or gated as veteran rewards. (Technically free with enough time spent subscribed.)

Okay, logged onto my Widow that's parked in the AP market on Virtue. Proceeded to enter Fort Trident and the SG base. Little bit of lag in Fort Trident, but otherwise the game seems normal to me. The problem is probably specific to whatever server you're playing on and most likely will be corrected soon.

Is it a system or server issue?
Did you have a question that we can answer for you?
When did "Player Questions" become "Player Gibbering Rants"?
Can anyone suggest a good CoH-related topic for me to post a gibbering rant about?

And the one question that never seems to get asked, rhetorically or not: Who wrote the book of love?

    Usually both.

Dismissing everyone who doesn't agree with you out of hand and/or lumping them under a single vaguely contemptuous label, especially before anyone even replies, i generally consider a strong indicator that the poster doing so has little of real interest to say. So far it's been pretty damn reliable.

I would like to have a few for free, then having a few to pay if they like me.
i was not posting against your request for more free costume pieces. i support you on that. i was simply pointing out that you'd be better off posting in the relevant area of the forums. Like City Life - CoH & CoV General Discussions.

You know, posting where red names reply to threads at least several times a week instead of posting a rant in a forum for asking questions that other players can answer and where the most recent red name post was probably about a year and a half ago. i mean, seriously, why not post your concerns that are aimed at the Devs in a forum where they tend to reply? Hell, how about in the official announcement discussion thread where there's been over a half dozen red name replies in the past 24 hours? Why post it here, of all places?

That's all i'm saying. Post it where those it's addressed to may actually reply. If you really want to vent in a less than useful venue you could go to a site that has nothing to do with games and post it in their forums instead of this half measure of misplaced posting. Again, i agree with your desire for more free costume pieces, but i think you should post it somewhere more useful and pertinent.

Do. You. Understand. What. i'm. Saying?
  22. Short answer: No player who is at liberty to say knows right now, so we can't tell you. There's always more in an issue than is listed in the first announcement, so no one is sure. i only recall one issue where new costume pieces being in the issue was in any of the earliest announcements.

Slightly longer answer: This is still the forum for asking other players questions and the rest of your post makes it evident that the question in the OP title was more rhetorical and you're simply complaining here because... okay, i have no idea why you didn't simply post this in the General Discussion section that is for threads like this. Are the posters there too mean?

Actually, the current setup requires you to do the cape mission again before you do the aura mission if you haven't done the newer cape mission, but had done the old cape mission. i've had to do this on a couple alts. Also ran the cape mission on a couple alts who will never use a cape just so i could access the aura mission.
