If you're interested in learning more about this new/old Legion, here's some trades you might want to check out:

    The Lightning Saga
Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes
Legion of Three Worlds (Don't be scared about it being part of the Final Crisis event... it really wasn't)

After that, they tried to restart the Legion as a back-up in the new Adventure Comics series, but it only lasted a couple issues before there was a creative team shift. As luck would have it, DC's president and former Legion writer Paul Levitz stepped down to become a writer again. So he picked it up and started this new Legion series while also writing Legion stories in Adventure comics.

I'm really enjoying the Legion stories right now. I think it's a good time to be a Legion fan.
The recent reboot confused me a bit since i have LoSH on my pull list at the comic shop and don't read most of the other DC mainline titles. (Or at least i tend to avoid the massive crossover, redo the universe, again, events with the exception of 52.) Needless to say the Legion reboot confused me for the first issue or two. Suddenly the comic's characters, setting and history were all different from the last issue i'd purchased with no warning or transition.

The new series is decent enough, and resetting it to mostly be the character roster from the Eighties isn't a bad choice, but a notice or explanation in the comic would've been nice.

Maybe a third cape that resembles a cheap children's costume cape. Short, shiny plastic finish, and the only brooch is a bow tied out of string.

i really hate what threads complaining about booster packs inspired by distorted recollections of the game's history of costume additions have done to the community. Not that the OP was all about that, but it certainly attracted some of the same misinformation and hyperbole as those threads.

Actually, i don't hate it that much.
But it does get a bit tiresome.
Time to go trick or treat.

    Isn't it nice?

As far as archetypes go my favorites tend to be Scrapper, Brute and Defender. My 50 DM/Elec Brute tears through the Rikti missions in the RWZ pretty quickly, so that's probably my best farmer.

I saw this booster's announcement earlier and was excited, the one downside was gonna be wanting capes/auras from an origin other than my own, but then there's the fine-print, saying any origin can use any of the new items so that's awesome .

My question is whether they will have to be unlocked like the DVD edition cape, or ready from lvl1 like the valkyrie and GR aura's etc.
The Origins Pack stuff is available from level 1/at character creation.

Edit: Seriously? 10 bucks? That's the price?
i know i keep running into this fallacy in every thread and eventually i'll stop bothering to point it out, but i've been continuously subscribed to CoH since issue 0, and there have been paid packs that added additional costume pieces and other perks since at least 2005.

There have been occasional releases of a bunch of free costume pieces, the civilian/day job pieces being the most recent that comes to mind, but there was never some sort of golden age where all new costume sets were gratis and supplied with every issue.

Since radio and newspaper missions go all the way to 50 there's really no need to train ever.

And thus Day Job Man was born. His goal in life? To live a life free of conflict and get by as a humble worker leaving the blood and glory to those who desire it.
  10. 5 capes and 10 auras. Several of each will be perfect for some of my alts.
$9.99 USD. Same price as the other super boosters, but a bit less variety in what i get.

Close call, but this is another pack that i almost certainly will be purchasing. Mostly for the auras, but a couple of the capes are something i've wanted for certain alts for a long time.

i definitely like this pack more than the last one.

So you miss the days that never existed? That's not uncommon really. Lots of people experience nostalgia for pasts that never were.

Well this one has more appeal for me than the last pack. There's a good chance i'll even buy it, unlike the last pack, depending on the price and restrictions.

Of course that applies just as well to attacks hitting at all. By your metric all attacks should also be assumed as hitting at the minimum amount forced by the streakbreaker code, not the actual average you will generally see in play.

Then the burden of slotting them falls upon those who don't like the way the set works now.

And reducing the chance of knockback diminishes the mitigation and survivability of the power set.
i recall reading sometime ago that the Devs had tinkered with creating a KB reduction effect/IO. It apparently caused all sorts of issues and did not reliably reduce KB effects.

Without either recoding every KB power to be able to suppress/reduce its own knockback when a trigger (such as a deactivation IO) is present or rewriting some game systems it is probably not an option. Of course the tech used in Dual Pistols and Kinetic Melee obviously means it's now possible to make power effects that can be turned on and off, but the question is whether the Devs consider the resources necessary to do it worth the end result.

Personally i don't think it is worth it. It's not like Energy Blast's KB is something that catches you by surprise after 20 levels, or that there's a lack of similar sets without KB.

While the power is active, each kinetic melee attack you land will boost your damage by (i think) 25%. This stacks up to 5 times, for a final damage bonus of 125%. The tohit bonus is active for as long as the power is active, which (i think) is 20 seconds.
*sigh* What Arbegla said. i really, really have to work on explaining things more clearly. Considering how often i end up writing installation/assembly instructions for sculptures when we ship them out you'd think i would do better at this.

Power Siphon is not an aura. It's more like a unique version of Build Up.

The tohit buff is static for Power Siphon's duration. However the self damage buff effect that it grants to KM attacks while it's active will stack up to five times.

Edit: To clarify, Kinetic Melee attacks have a secondary effect that debuffs enemy damage every time they hit. The attacks also have another secondary effect that buffs the user's damage when they hit that normally has a 0% chance to activate. While Power Siphon is active the damage buff secondary effect in the KM attacks is set to a 100% chance to activate, so every time a KM attack hits your character gets a damage buff.

In comics an anime, guys who use some sort of enrgy blast do major damage an if they knock a guy thru a wall or building the guy is hurt .
This does not translate well in CoX . I have made a lot of toons in this game an i would like to stop skipping enrgy blast . now some exceptional players have been abble to pimp this set out on blasters an those of you that have i think you are awsome ! but for the ones like me who just cant deal with a sub par set but like the concept . HELP! You can count the engergy / corruptors on one hand, an i dont even know if defenders even have enrgy blast as i have NEVER seen one and ive played this game for 4 years lol.
    Sometimes i really miss Jranger.

And now, the content in the boosters themselves seem to be getting thinner - the Mutant pack was a bit underwhelming (though I still bought it), and the Party Pack didn't contain any costume pieces - just a handful of animations, some originally intended for GR, sold at a premium price.

So let me ask you, just to clear up any possible misunderstanding: Are you implying that everyone who takes issue with this trend is either a child or being childish? That's a pretty facile dismissal, not to mention insulting, so I hope I'm just misreading you here.
No, some are saying the nonexistent trend is nonexistent. Additional free costume pieces has always been an occasional and not very common event, and free costume sets even rarer. Most of the new costume sets in the history of the game have been paid perks going back to the first collection set.

Edit: i'm hoping we'll see even more free pieces and sets be released, but i'm not going to demand it and wail about it based on a sense of entitlement rooted in nostalgia for a past that never existed.

I'll take almost perfect safety over extra speed any day.
Do keep in mind that the original post was about Time Bomb in the Traps powerset, not Devices. That said, it is possible to use some combo of SS+stealth for a Traps user to toe bomb. The lower Defender damage and complete lack of Full Auto in Dual Pistols (as was also mentioned in the OP) does make your tactics somewhat problematic for most others, especially the OP.

Still, i can see the appeal of an attack that gives you time to go get a refreshing beverage while it sets up if that's how you roll. Most people don't find that leisurely of a playstyle appealing, but if it works for you that's just peachy.

i completely agree that it's an opinion that you're entitled to have.

i'd probably share that opinion if i'd ever seen anyone immediately suggest that an idea that someone else proposed should be made into a booster pack, but i don't recall ever seeing that happen.

Keep in mind i may be interpreting it differently than you do. i don't see people offering suggestions when a Dev asks what they'd like to see in future boosters as being the same as some person suggesting a new power, costume piece or feature and then someone else immediately saying, "They should make that into a booster!" To me the former is different from the latter.

Seeing a suggestion you like and immediately proposing that it be made part of a booster is kind of dumb in my opinion. Making suggestions for future booster content when a Dev asks for suggestions is not the same.
