  1. Is it just me or is claiming account items for new characters a real PITA? The issue is that once Incarnate items get mixed up in there, it's impossible to Claim All on a level 1 character.
  2. sometimes... just occasionally... I'm really glad I'm a child of the 60s and some of these new fangled ideas pass me by

    What do I do?!?

See if he does the same thing a few times. If he does, invade Scotland!

Interview is here. The quote is from the second page.

I'm curious to see what they will do if this is one of the heroes that awards a badge in Recluse's Victory. Will the badge be removed from the game? Will they change it so it awards for defeating a different hero? Of course, if it's Numina then there is no problem. She doesn't appear in RV. Neither does Citadel.

I did read that. But this is a comicbook game. And nobody in comics really dies.

Besides, even tho Brian Clayton said it, we know the Devs do like to mess with out minds and besides, if I'm right I'll be rich beyond my wildest dreams... even if it's highly improbable!

Some critters have a wider level range. Those will show up normally when level requirements are changed, if they still fall within their current level range.

Ok but if they exist at llv 40 how come they are showing up at 43 when my settings were 0/0
  6. I like these changes but especially like the sensitive way they have been dealt with by the Community Team. Thanks everyone.
  7. I did wonder that... but it seems odd that some enemies conned right but the majority were uber-tough. Fortunately we were on a couple of robust cruppers so survived but it's a definite annoyance, and has potentially very negative consequences on less experienced players.
  8. I was doing my patron arc - go get some info from Ghost Widow's tower. So I wander in and I'm met by a bunch of Fortunatas on the other side of the door.

The big problem with that is there were 6 of them and I was in a duo. We were 37 and these Forts were 43. We beat them and managed to complete the mish with a bit of ghosting but it does seem like a bug, especially as there were a couple of NPC enemies who were conning as yellow 38s. The vast majority were these Fortunatas at 43.

Is this WAI or is it broken? I petitioned at the time and got a belated response but no additional info forthcoming.
  9. dang too far away but have a great night! Happy wosname!

  11. I know... but they didn't turn off the forums!

so I have to read stuff and talk about the game instead of playing it!!!!

Maybe we need to turn off the whole INTERNET!

    Downtime

Yay! Runs off to do stuff and hopes they fix the lag!
  13. I'm saying this:

Nobody dies, but we might get somebody come back to life (War Witch/Numina possibly)

I'm basing this on the fact that the Devs often stretch things - for example the War Walls coming down and being able to blow up scenery etc.

Yes, both doable but very limited - they get us going and it's fun how they manage it so don't think this is a criticism but I strongly suspect we're being wrong-footed here.

Be fun to find out tho
  14. I noticed this the other day. I'm glad it wasn't me going crazy. (Ok, ok...)

As others have suggested maybe it's just getting you that boost because if you are a new player you probably won't have access to the Vet Weapons... and if you do, getting to lvl 2 or level 3 isn't exactly cumbersome.

I guess there's been a shift in attitude - when I first joined the game getting to level 10 in an afternoon would be considered pretty good going for a new toon, now it's as though they want you to be there ASAP.

    No bad thing IMO.

well that and walking me dog! But he's a greyhound so does a lap or two of the field and then decides it's time to sleep again (I swear he stole my sleep)

I wasn't intending to be snarky... but I'm loving how Freedom has invigorated the game so much and it's so much fun to play right now... but I'm seriously trying to move forward and there's this wonderful game sitting in my PC saying "play me, play me now! come on you know you wanna. Come on, just 10 minutes, play... you'll enjoy it... play me now!!!"
  16. Hey Devs... any chance of some more downtime pls?

See the thing is I've got some real important stuff I need to do but I keep getting distracted by Freedom and I am compelled to play the game as much as possible. They only time I can't is when I'm a) sleeping or b) there's downtime.

    I'm an insomniac.

    Please help

    Channel Merge?

I agree it's hard to know which channel to join but I find that most of the action seems to take place in EXALTED-UNITED which, whilst getting the action is burdened by a clumsy name.

I have not found (yet) a decent RP channel for Exalted tho and that could be very useful

Much of what is in the proposed Updated Forum Rules is simply an update. A rewording or re-organization of the various points at times, but mostly just updating a tiny bit.

If you look at the current version of the forum rules and compare it side-by-side with the proposed updates, you'll see that not much has changed. If you could go back and look at the previous forum rules as they were posted over the past several years, you'd find that there's not much new under the sun.

As to whether the Updated Forum Rules will finally have consistent moderation, unlike what we have now and have pretty much always had, that is the real question.

I agree with pretty well all of this.

I was not pointing out a difference. I was trying to highlight a potential issue but I realised that this is the first opportunity I've ever had to discuss the forum rules on the forum so I wanted to state my opinion.

I have personally fallen foul of inconsistent moderation and it seems to me that the basic policy seems to be "seat of pants/gut instinct" rather than consistency. Some moderators use a "broad brush" while others use a scalpel. This isn't a failure of individuals, but it does seem to be a failure of policy and a more consistent application of policy would be welcome
  21. ok I'm gonna be slightly philosophical here but this point bothers me a lot:

Do not engage in Lobbying on the Official Forums. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted. We recognize you may be passionate about a specific subject, however this sort of posting is non-constructive and will not be tolerated.
I'm pretty sure a lot of EU forumites will agree with me when I say we had to make a lot of noise to get heard and our actions (mine especially) could have easily been considered to fall foul of this rule. I will very gladly point out that to my knowledge nobody was ever warned that we were it does concern me that an overly zealous mod could have snipped those voices very succinctly when we were raising a legitimate point and were not getting much redname feedback.

It does strike me that it's potentially a gagging clause - but I'll happily add the caveat that I've no experience of it being used that way.

    Something to think about maybe?
  22. There are way too many boards on that I'd completely agree - I'd lay odds that this is part of the unholy mess that includes the logout bug - but merging the AT boards is going to result in chaos as others have said.

Also, change the software from vBulletin to XenForo. That is all

I haven't got from this thread ( from many at least ) and I think with some relatively minor tweaks it could be one of the best iTrials out there... so I do *hope* that some of the Devs are taking note.

Personally I truly hate seeing potentially good content go to waste. One of the things I truly believe is that the Devs put their hearts and souls into this game and to see it going down the crapper for the sake of a tweak is incredibly sad.
  24. The whole "intuition" thing with the Itrials is kind of counter-intuitive [sic] I think. None of them can be won simply by running through the map and hitting stuff - and that is a notable change from the original content where most stuff with a few exceptions is simply "run through the map, bash stuff until it's all dead and achieve the odd secondary objective."

The problem is that the Devs were begged to provide more variation, but when they do, sometimes they haven't quite got the balance perfect. They are damned if they do, damned if they don't in that sense.

Personally I feel that the end game should be tougher than the regular content - by the time players get to Incarnate stage it's hoped they should have a good feel for game play and an extra challenge is exactly what's needed - doubly so given how much the game's been dumbed down over the last few years.

If it's simply a question of people failing to follow instruction, that indicates to me at least that the other trials would fail as frequently as Keyes but that doesn't seem to be the case - but maybe it's simply the additional complexity that throws people and no easy way to mitigate that pulse which does seem to be excessive
  25. It would be nice to think they could do two batches... take down half the servers and leave the others up for at least scheduled maintenance.

Probably doable but the cost/benefit economics things won't work
