There's also the problem of making something really cool, but then telling people they must wait 4 or 5 years to get it - a vet reward has to be fun and/or useful, but not incredibly desirable, I think.
Liek the flyer models for the bases - they're cool, but not incredibly desirable - but imagine if they said that after 6 years, you could actually fly one of them as an alternative travel power - it'd make player exicted, but it'd also cause a lot of dissatisfaction, I think.

I'm sorry, but why all the grumbling? Its Free Stuff!

I'm sitting on 27 months now, and enjoy the fact that I have a few extra options when creating a new character.

    Free stuff rocks!

    Long live Free stuff!

So, you'd be happy with a lump of coal for an xmas pressie then?

Waaah... I get free(someone will probably say it's not free since we pay on a monthly basis) stuff and I want to complain! *rolls on the ground crying*

Honestly... Anyone need a diaper change?
Maybe an icecream to make you forget that bruised knee? A nap perhaps? *pinches babycheek*

I disagree. If you're eligable for the vet rewards in question, then you've contributed a helluva lot to the game's maintenance and upkeep. Veteran rewards were introduced by the Dev team to encourage people to continue to subscribe, and yet from 45 months onwards (I'm surprised nobody's picked up on that one yet) little or no effort's been put into them, and yet those are the game's most dedicated followers.

Feedback, for good or ill, is a significant part of why this forum exists and it is not wrong to use express real disappointment at what appears to be short shrift. Especially when it would be relatively simple to create something meaningful and useful.

    Opinions please

I think the only things that I've ever reported have been things that endanger the game, ie blatant copyright infringement and/or offensive (to me) names.

To my own knowledge I'm the only person who has actually petitioned my own toon's name to see if it passed muster but I guess it's not something that gets discussed often.

FFM is spot on tho; Report 'em all, let the GMs sort 'em out
  5. let's also consider that the game grows organically with lots of player input. I'm not even sure the Devs would have thought of half the elements that have been introduced into the game since it went live when they first began working on it.

    Off for a bit...

Can I have your stuff please?

Weird, I've dropped a few annoying ones. Just 'call' the radio and there should be an option to drop the mission as usual.

    [/ QUOTE ]

don't think I've ever seen that and I was looking last night

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can drop them, but I think you have to be in the correct zone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah... ok that makes a bit more sense. I shall experiment

I'd like to know why devs posting (ie not reposts of what they've said by others) on the EU forums are as rare as hens teeth? Yes it's not what they're there for but it is what they do to a greater (BaB) or lesser (anyone not BaB) degree on the US forums.

    I'm with Cryonic here

Apart from War Witch, we do seem to seem to be the poor relations when it comes to contact and if you guys are going over I reckon you have a great opportunity to be ambasadors for the EU community, and I don't think I'm speaking out of turn when I say our lack of Dev contact is sometimes frustrating. We do get the odd visit from WarWitch and I know from personal experience how helpful she is and how well she responds to the fans. However, one or two postings a year and the odd bi-annual visit don't really cut it.

Given the EU player base, and the revenue this side of the pond brings in, it would be nice to "feel a touch more of the NCNC leuve from time to time over here

  11. I've had a few instances of outlevelling police band missions, and yet I don't seem able to drop them at all. Am I missing something or is it not possible

They might need to upgrade the engine a bit ot handle all that seaweed waving gently in the current, but I think that'd be good for the overall game

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're getting all animated just thinking about seaweed now huh GG?
  14. Don't worry, you're not the grumpiest here yet matey

Have a goody, make sure the candles on the cake don't set the house on fire
  15. Good luck with it and let us know how you get on. Boot Camp seems to be the way to go, on Intel Macs at least.

I'm currently experimenting with Ubuntu, and looking at running CoX on that over WINE or something but I've got a long way to go

I still don't see why an agro magnet would want a stealth power but if you do the stealth pool would give you more bang for your buck IMO. (Set bonuses excluded of course.)

  17. Lusca? Sally?

It's a lot of work and I'm not sure quite what you're suggesting here. An entire new zone which is under water but actually not under water?

Sure, there's strong comicbook precedence for under-sea kingdoms, Namor and Aqua Man being the obvious examples but I think there's a hell of a lot of work involved. You're essentially asking for a new zone. If we were to get something like that I'd much rather have missions performed in the water, maybe with some sort of "oxygen field" around us like we have in Terra Volta respec missions.

I suspect that this is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way off tho

    Names

It ain't broke and it's maybe slightly painful but I'd much rather quality Dev time be spent on new content tbh
  20. In Guild Wars you can have a "communal chest" where you can put your goodies in there and any of your toons can access them

Initially I wasn't at all keen on the idea, my argument being that your toons are individuals and are not necessarily connected. However, it's a game and like most I play more than one toon but have a favourite and when I get a rare recipe my fave needs on a lowbie, it is only right and fair that I as the player and owner of the account should be able to use that recipe/salvage/etc as I so wish.

It's been suggested before, but was kicked into touch by Cryptic I seem to recall but we all know that NCSoft are much better listeners than Cryptic.

I'm not sure if this is how the City Vault will act but you're not the first to suggest this, and doubtless won't be last and my post is a long winded way of saying "signed"
  21. Arctic and Imoba great names too

one thing that you've touched on Arctic, is the use of ancient Greek in names, and I'm not by any means an expert on the classics so my knowledge/input is limited but your Atmosphere segment rekindled that

I've also thought of a male and female variant of hard core rock 'n' roller heroes, in the tradition of Gene Vincent and Gene Simmonds

    Gene Sequence

    and

    Jean Sequins
