So far nobody's been able to make a case for group fly (who does hami any more anyhow?) so it seems something needs to be done with it and sure this might not make it the most popular power but it seems to have generated a more popular response than negative so maybe the Devs could look at that

Group Fly

In over 2.5 years playing this game, I can only recall a couple of players who ever took it. I also recall that whenever they used it, the rest of the team mostly had a blue fit. It's a waste of a vaulable pool power as it stands IMO and needs addressing. Most of the other Tier 4 pools are pretty good, but Group Fly... well, frankly it's a dogpile.

What alternatives are there?

If you've ever studied military strategy you'll probably be aware that Air Superiority is the first thing a commander looks for, and we already have that, a quite highly praised power with an excellent knockdown effect. So it could be built upon quite easily with the next stage in aipower, Air Supremacy - in real terms that means the enemy cannot realistically put any aircraft into the air to challenge your own air forces. In game terms that could be a PBAoE knockdown - so as you hover there and raid down death from above you get swamped by flying minions... you fire off Air Supremacy and hey presto... they cease to bother you for a while

That to me doesn't seem too out of keeping with Whirlwind for example, or Acrobatics in reverse... so keeps parity and gives the flight pool a worthwhile power for PVP too

If you want to experience team play but are levelling too quickly you could always wait until you're a level or so above the mission level and form a small team of players maybe 3 or 4 levelss lower than yourself.

That will allow you to help others who may look to level quicker, but your XP rewards won't tip you into the next level quicker than you're ready, thus giving you at least 2 levels and a reasonable time to learn exactly how to use your new power.

I'd also say I find that there's often still a bit of a bump in the XP curve somewhere between 20 and 30 depending on AT, so it's often worth pushing on through if you do feel you've hit a sticking point

I wanted to add some praise to this guide. I've been playing a stone/thermal for a few weeks now (currently about 30) and it's a lot of fun. You've opened my eyes to some of the powers and I will recondiser (Stalagmites and Plasma Shield being cases in point.)

I would say that I've found him really tough to solo but I have also duo'd with an ice/storm troller and that combo just munches through everything, even EBs and AVs

This is exactly why I don't play my rad/kin defender any more. I was once offered a million inf (in the days when a million was actually worth something) if I kept the lead SB'd. I respectfully declined with the phoenetics of Foxtrot Oscar.

The problem with /kins is they are perceived to be a one-trick pony and it's really annoying having people bleat for SB when your work-rate's really high keeping the melee toons healed, the enemy debuffed, remembering who does and doesn't want SB... it's more of a pain than a boon to play.

Planning and finding things is unnecessarily hard, the filter system is inadequete and as you guys say its hard to believe that in this day of Hyperlinks and d'internet that they didn't make Salvage Requirements listed in a recipe link to the Salvage AH listing so you can easily bid on them. Instead you've to remember the requirements (hard for goldfish brain), use the stupid filter system and find them manually.

Even tiny things like how if you're selling more than one thing once you choose the quantity the Price box doesn't have cursor focus (so you've to click in there with the mouse) show a lack of final polish.

Scarlet Shocker One of my very first toons (my first is no longer with us) and without a shadow of a doubt my favourite. The alliteration and the whole aspect of the character worked for me

Proton Rush Rad/Kin defender it seemed kind of appropriate too...

Snowfreak I just liked the name and this ice/en blaster just turned into a kind of dragonish looking creature with a huge mechanical glove and I really liked the look (and DPS)

Other names of note include Invincible Woman, Angel of Mons and Psyber Girl

But why hasn't anyone ever made a toon called 4Q?
