Nice job. Original take

there are a couple of named characters in game that have the same name but different function so I'm guessing there can be duplicates

Like I said, I can lead blue team if wanted/needed, or Scarlet can do it, I don't mind

I'm easy mate, if you got first dibs you're welcome to it.
I think we need Sappers too -
Yeah but in Myopic's case it's a silly name for a hero. I mean, how can he "arrest" anyone when we all know that Aardvark never hurt anyone
/em getcoat -
Scarlet Shocker
Mauve Marvel
both blasters, checking in
I don't mind taking Blue team over if you need -

This game probably THE worst acronym ever.
Well almost... Can name a few but the filter wont let me.

Much as I applaud you.
I don't watch tv anymore - as to my mind it is supposed to entertain and inform - and until then, sorry but no view from me.
Soaps - there is enough misery in the world why am I going to watch someone else's
Sport - UGH.
Reality TV - don't get me started...
American Tripe - NO Thanks.

I'm with you on this. -
Gratz on your 50
I love the game play of the AoS, but I do think the costume options are a bit of a swindle. Very little modification and you only get one. So actually looking like an AoS during the course of your career,
But then again the story arc's a bit poor IMO - you may not have done it so I'll avoid spoilers.
However poor the costume options and weak the story is, the game play is fantastic. There's a very cool chain that allows you bathe in a veritable sea of orange numbers and they are actually quite a tough character - and above all, fun to play. So I'd recommend it for that reason if nothing else. -
Really nice. John Buscema lives!
Colour me impressed -
A spot of fan fic I wrote. It's not long but it is clever (allegedly) but it is Not Safe For Work - you have been warned

And possibly a revamped Boomtown - maybe co-op - with the main zone storyline being the 5th Column fighting the Council there, while searching for the old Freedom Phalanx base where the Reichsman is still buried in suspended animation
It's also possible that a new Boomtown TF would have you racing to try and stop the 5th from reviving the Reichsman, with him as the last mission AV

I like the way you're thinking GG -

Hmmmm, wild speculation, but I wonder if they might skip open beta for I14, and go straight from closed beta to release?
It'd be a break from tradition, but they might just feel that as non-MA gameplay's essentially unchanged, and there might not be that many extra open beta'ers interested in MA (as compared to new power sets, zones, etc...) they could get away with it.
In that event, and given the number of weeks they've had in US closed beta, they could just about get it out next week...

The official word remains that Issue 14 goes live in Q1 of 2009. That gives them 26 days. Just over three weeks
You might be on to something -

For the sake of my mental well-being, I am not going to calculate how much money I've spent.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thoroughly seconded, I'm sure Its been a hell of a lot less than if I had been subscribed to other MMOs, but still - I'm just not going to go there. Ignorance is bliss.
[/ QUOTE ]
The more I think about this thread and the title, the less comfortable I am with it.
To me it shouldn't be about the money. It's the pleasure you've had from playing, the friendships you've made, the villains (or heroes) you've kil.... defeated, and the fun.
What price enjoyment? After all you're a long time dead. -

P.S. how do you make a character look like a rabit? Am trying to make a white rabit costume for an existing character

Ask Jefferson Airplane -

To expand on that, I'm hoping that the custom critter creator lets us save the entire critter spec (it would make sense to allow this!). Then we could set up a "Critter Repository" for custom mobs we create that others might want to use! Hell, people could make entire custom villain/hero groups for others to populate their missions with!

Would be a nice touch -

Human Justice was supposed to be a single piece about the capture of the Maestro of Mayhem, how it turned into a Nemesis plot I still don't know.

Everything is a Nemesis plot.

Not everything -
I already know what's in it:
Costume parts
Frills
Emotes
Nuff said (that's actually in it)
-
That's kind of the point.
I know there's a bucketload of talent out here, but I speak from personal experience when I say that when I've got the creative juices flowing it doesn't always come out the way I initially intended. How will you ensure you're delivering a quality adventure from that great concept that was in your mind? How do you know that anyone will give a monkeys? What's to say that it got the thumbs down for one aspect wheras the rest of the content was great?
Who judges it? Who helps you improve? -

Slideshow adverts before the SuperHero films next summer 2010. If my local curry house can afford a selection of screens advertising their restaurant I'm pretty sure NCWest can. Get those free trial discs into cinema foyers for the Marvel superhero fest Summer 2010.
You can bet DC won't miss out on the opportunity, I bet you'll see full-on trailers of DCUO running before the films!.

Yeah it'd be nice to see an ad for City of Heroes trailing in front of the next Marvel Movie.
"Be the hero inside of you" -
Ok so here's the scenario
I14 lands
The world and his dog test it out. They will have their heads buried in their Opus (yes, you did read that correctly. It's easier to distinguish than an elbow)
So there's gonna be nobody actually playing on the servers.
Remember dual blades & willpower? If you played anything but you'd get spammed with team requests constantly for a month
So how are you gonna TEST this great work of yours? You'll need a team of 8 because you want it to be a tough challenge - and there's you and your mate Bob - he's kinda like your sidekick, except that you need him more than he needs you. How will you know if your mission works?
Your SG will be vying for "BEST MISSION EVAH award" and so they'll all be busy and everyone on coalition will be huddled in a darkened room tweaking their grate werk. But it'll take some time for you to get any feedback from it.
Ok there's a liberal slice of tongue-in-cheek in the above (yes, really!) but I hope my point is at least vaguely serious. How will we know if any missions are good, and perhaps more importantly, how will a player know if that mission they've crafted is any good?
A simple thumbs up or down is ok but imagine this: you create something great, you're proud of it (and I assume that most people will develop something they'd like to see) but I'm also concious of the fact that often the best works are refined over time. Very few stories get published unedited, so how can a player receive constructive feedback outside of their nearest and dearest - who, in my experience, are often not the best people to give you that feedback because their judgment is coloured by their relationship with you.
The short version of the question is: How do you say to somebody "Fantastic mission in Boomtown vs the Council but dropping Ghost Widow and 15 different GMs on us in that ambush was a bit much"?
