    I'm not wealthy, I'm a poor scrapper.

Please donate to Santorican's Scrapper fund, a scrapper should never go hungry.

Is that why I haven't had any issues doing ITFs, I use a dark/shield?

With Fire recharge isn't as important as it is on a character using Dark. Fire can already do great dps with very little recharge bonuses. I guess you're right it is a bit over kill in terms of recharge.
  4. I'd like to see a regeneration bonus in any of these targeted AoE sets, or a debuff resistance bonus to defense, recharge, or regeneration.

That would be awesome! I wish the developers would do more with that zone, it has so much potential.

I've never had any issue tanking in an ITF and my shield toon doesn't have capped DDR nor do I use inspirations. Maybe if you're tanking a +4 ITF sure then you'll need it, but otherwise not so much.

Like I said earlier I'm not trying to come off as rude but to say that build is clumsy is far from the truth.

And better is relative, you might have more of one thing but less of another, doesn't mean that your build is better then mine.

Besides resistances on a shield, unless you're doing extreme content doesn't have that much factor as much as recharge would be. You won't have to worry about anything hitting you if its already dead.

How is it pointless if it allows for more flexibility in a build? Performance costs, how bad *** do you want to be?

But overall it will work, it's just it's a bit end heavy, an has low recov an regen considering what it could have.
Endurance use is fine, recovery is great considering his secondary isn't regeneration. Regeneration could be improved a bit but the difference between 250% and 300% is small and not very noticeable.

    Quote:
Also because of the way you've slotted tough, resistances are a bit low.
I've seen very few Shield builds that have high resistances. Most focus on defense and recharge.

    Quote:
Not a bad build by any means just a bit clumsy. i don't like true grits slotting for the Rech, all that extra rech only knocks a few seconds of SC etc.
Clumsy? That made me chuckle. True Grit is has a 95% enhanced heal portion, what else should it be slotted for? Resistance from True Grit sucks.

I don't mean to come off as sounding rude but it doesn't seem like you know exactly what you're talking about.

  10. It isn't just you, I can't get into the log in server either
  11. Any defense based secondary sucks leveling, ice, especially super reflexes, invul to a degree.
  12. No they're referring to Gladiator's Armor: Teleportation Resistance/+ Defense.
  13. Here is my current build for my spines/dark build, has around 30% defense to melee while having a somewhat manageable endurance drain. I have to work on that I find myself using CP a lot during longer fights.

  14. I'm a bit confused are you saying that without AAo SC doesn't do a lot of damage?

Also any defense based power set blows with just SOs. The highest you'll get with an SR is around 35 to 39% and even then you'll be sucking wind a lot. It really chaps my pants when people say you need a metric ton of inventions to make shields playable outside of teaming. If that were the case then Shields would be due for a huge buff. I've made a few builds with 30% smashing/lethal resistance and 30% defense without using any inventions.
  15. That huge burst of damage is what you want in farming, the faster their health goes down the faster you can move through the mission. Burst > DoT when it comes to farming.
  16. Santorican

    ElM/Regen??

Effective is what you make of it. Do you want to play with teams or solo arch villains/rikti pylons?

If you're goal is extreme performance then electric melee will not suffice. It lacks good single target damage but has good area of effect damage.

Regeneration does well soloing but if not played correctly can have a difficult time with large groups.

On a 1 to 10 scale I would rate electric/regeneration a six. It will need an experience player to maximize it performance and will take some getting used to timing its heals.

Overall I'd say it'd be fun
  17. I actually really like that build Igor. Also I got all of my PvP enhancements when they were a whole lot cheaper then they were now. I also farmed a lot in the arena before they changed the drop rates.

    Thank you!

Siphon doesn't really need much +recharge. My DM/Shield has about 147 global recharge and I don't have any recharge slotted into it at all and it runs the chain just fine. Siphon only needs to come back within 4.62 (2x smite at 1.188 and 1x MG at 2.244) and your latest build has it at 2.97 which is way under.

I used the following slotting for my siphon and it's worked really well for me.
    Touch of Nictus: Healing
    Touch of Nictus: Acc/End/Heal
    Hecatomb: Damage
    Crushing Impact: Damage/Endurance
    Golgi (heal/end)
    Nucleolus (Acc/Dam)
    which gives
    54.5 accuracy
    96.9 damage
    79.9 end redux
    92.83 healing
It recharges in 4.04 which is about .6 less than required.

I would definitely slot the hecatomb proc into MG in place of the damage and then move the damage IO to siphon. The proc is really really good, and replacing it only moves your damage in MG to 90 percent which is still excellent.
I won't be at the ranged defense soft cap if I slot like that in the second build.
  19. Then here is another version with a lot less healing from Siphon Life, ddr, and defense but has more recharge, recovery, and regeneration. My question is how detrimental would losing that 9.5% of healing in Siphon Life be?

  21. Freedom is dope, I've had more fun PvPing there in 2 days then on Virtue in a month.

Can this build take on typical AVs like Marauder, Shadowhunter, etc?
CP is just a place holder for PP. When I did I would farm +0 x8 just for speed. I did solo Marauder, Nightstar, Dominatrix, but I don't recall soloing Shadow hunter.
  23. The problem with spines is that it is a mob killer and doesn't deal well with hard targets. I took Umbrals Katana/Regeneration build and changed it to Fire/Regeneration and it has pretty decent recharge as well as excellent defense.

It's a pretty bad *** build, and yes you deserve the credit for making it.
