Honestly it doesn't matter since Santorican wants what he wants and no reason against it is acceptable. The inanity of the thread's premise that Shield Defense is broken simply because he's not getting what he wants and every response made since then has made that much apparent. *shrug* Maybe some day the Devs might reconsider and alter the basic character models to accommodate this wish. If Santorican wants to hold his breath until it happens i will support his efforts 100%.
I'm refuting the fact that people are basing their opinion as a valid argument which it isn't. Because looks are in the eye of the beholder. There are NO other valid arguments to make. All I'm going to say is

Shields and 2H weapons does not fit into the first two categories.
The bottom line is that people who say it shouldn't happen is because they say it looks unrealistic but other than that there is no other reason why it can't or shouldn't happen. You can wield a shield and a spear with two hands. So eliminate that argument and none of you have anything to stand on, because you can't say something is unrealistic where humans can fly unaided, bend time and space, leap 300ft, or anything else associated with being a super hero. Once you've broken physics countless times, little things like hold a katana and a shield become trivial issues. -

The reason it cannot be used with two handed weapons is that it is not broken. Setting aside the technical issues with implementing this, from a real world and fiction standpoint shields of the type used in the powerset are almost never compatible with wielding two other weapons at once without having more than two arms or indulging the whims/whinges of 12 year old munchkins/Mary Sues. "Throkdormontraaaaal is a quadruple classed Barbarian/Barbarian/Ranger/Ranger who can wield a great sword and kite shield in each hand and use two bows at the same time using his Bracers of Spectral Limbs. He's also half dragon, half elf, half troll and two thirds Celestial." "Hey, where are you going? Are there any plans on making it so Shield Defense can be used with two handed weapons? Its been quite sometime since this issue arose and I would love to make a Spines, Katana, TW, DB, Staff/Shield Scrapper.

It would take an act of divine intervention to get the developers to change EM to what the players actually wanted.
Although Synapse did change Regeneration so maybe, just maybe he(assuming Synapse is a guy) will hear our cries. -

- We are still discussing/considering concerns expressed regarding the exclusivity of costume pieces. We're open to the idea of making them available through an alternate method in the Paragon Market, however a decision has not been made regarding this particular topic.
- ATOs (Archetype Enhancements) will be purchasable from the Reward Merit Vendor, for a combination of Reward Merits and Inf, and from Astral Christy, for a combination of Astral Merits and Inf. There will be a cooldown timer on the purchase of these items. The amount of Inf and duration of the cooldown are still being discussed and will be evaluated once all of this hits beta. This is in addition to their availability in Super Packs.
- Enhancement Catalysts will be added to the game as rare drops from enemies defeated during Incarnate Trials and in the upcoming newly Incarnated Dark Astoria. Like ATOs, this is in addition to their availability through Super Packs.

I lol at the fact of people buying enhancements with real money. I might play once every three days and yet I still have enough influence to purchase about 50 of these at buy it now price. If you're smart and spend 10mins a day you can laugh at purchasing these in store and buy them in game.

I don't use Smite in my attack Chain unless exempt (obviously), replaced with Fire Blast, therefore it's just a set mule unfortunately. End heavy without a doubt, but it's perfectly manageable so far through my various stress tests thanks to DC.

I'd shore up your S/L resistance more and probably your endurance recovery if you need it. Probably not with DC slotted for end recovery and CP. If you have the recharge to run Mg > Smite > SL I'd suggest slotting SL with three Gogli and three Nucleolus. Other than that it is a good build.I didn't want to start a new thread but I'm stuck for my standard build. I've pushed the build as far as I can get it without restarting and looking for more from scratch. I'm considering using enhancement boosters to push the build more in a few places but is there anything anyone can see that I'm missing or don't need? Or do I start on a second build to softcap against incarnate and DE?

I expect some half ***** attempt to shut people up who have been complaining for the last year like the developers usually do when its not what they want.

You don't need 2 or 6 because with enough recharge for permanent hasten you have enough recharge for SM>SL>MG and with enough HP and recharge you can spam SL to save your life more so than a 60% passive regen bonus could. -
What are you trying to maximize and minimize. What are you building to fight?
