    Soooo I finally got to respec and when I take a look at my DDR in real numbers I let a giant MALE COW FECAL MATTER! My DDR is at 85%, yay for being careless and miss calculating my DDR. Made a few corrections and it looks like I lose 5% recharge but I do get to slot Soul Drain for just Acc and Rech which is a nice benefit to AV and Pylon soloing. So please help me and make sure that with this current iteration I will have capped DDR. Also if you can tell me, does having an Enzyme Exposure in Grant Cover give you more DDR? I remember reading that but I'm not sure how true that is...

    It's a pretty good build, what do you normally do with it or have any plans to do with it?

    No I normally play on virtue but probably next round of free server transfers I might send him to Freedom.

    Its confirmed now that Shield Charge will be getting a huge nerf in the near future. Now with that said please for the love of God do something about /Fire Armor lol.

    In my defense, when purples came out I bought a lot of them when they were 250 million for 5 enhancements so I already have a lot of these sitting in a storage bin in my base lol.

    Yeah they are a bug that is now accepted to be a function of hamidon origin enhancements. They enhance defense by 33%.

    I notice a difference its also really good when you're farming tough enemies, the knock down really helps.

    Its fine if you do that but like you pointed out, not having capped DDR, having TG, and Tough underslotted. My build doesn't have permanent hasten but its only off by 7 seconds which isn't a huge hit to my dps.

    That is a really really really nice build, it has excellent defense and endurance usage and recovery. The only small suggestion I can give you depending on what their price differences are is to slot two Enzyme Exposures into CoD instead of Cytos it will give you a few decimals more of defense

    Doom, I'd really suggest taking ripper, it adds a lot more AoE damage to your build. I like that slotting in DR though, it's got better Acc than mine does while maintaining around the same level rech, and end cost.

    There is a post that Fury posted about shields on a budget. I looked at the cheap one but still had this mindset about billions being required and that blinded me. Fury, if you are reading this, I am going back and have another look at your builds.

    I came back to this thread to apologize about the bitterness of my earlier post. It just seemed to me that since all the player base voted for Shields, not just the rich, then we should get a set that works beautifully with SOs, to reflect the needs and pocketbooks, of all the playerbase, not just the very rich.

    So, yes Castle, look at Shields but with an eye towards "how can I make this powerset SO friendly?"

    I made a few more changes to the build I posted. I forgot that there is a bug with Mid's with Blasters and Controllers so I had to change a few things but I gave you more recovery and more recharge.

    Gah: Yeah can't do that, adding in a set of Obliteration into Quills adds another .2 end/s use on my Spines/Dark and the poor guy is already sucking wind after a few groups lol

    I am sorry , but I am very bitter about this. There is not much that makes me bitter, but this does because I don't have billions to pour into one toon. . .and I do want to play a Shield scrapper. I have an Elec/Shield at level 32, she is doing wonderful now, but reading the forums, and hearing about the need for billions of influence I am expecting her to fall apart any day now....and that is not a nice feeling.

    Sorry about my Venting, but this has been a sore spot for me for a long, long time.

    See that is the trap that people keep falling for, you don't need billions of influence for shields to be good. If you set yourself a decent budget you will need at most 200 million influence for a character that will perform better than 90% of the game.

    Looking at the build it looks like a lot of your slots go towards getting permanent hasten and on the way you're making a lot of sacrifices.

    Two of your attacks aren't even slotted for damage, both Petrifying Gaze and Dark Blast are average powers at best.

    If close to permanent Soul Drain is your goal I'd go another route. I have 15% less global recharge bonuses but my Soul Drain recharges at about the same exact time as your build does.

I guess it's time to go on test, do the ten respecs to get the IOs out of my SR and dump them onto the SD to see. But I have that nagging feeling that it wont make much of a difference. It will still be a great char to play but I'm not sure I can do the same things I do on my SR that has aid self.

    Maybe it's my luck but I do get chain slapped and when I do, its usually carpet munching time. And no, not in the fun sense. =D
    Soft capped and perma hasten on a dark/shield? Now that I have to see

    Well said lol. The problem isn't with shields, its the big freaking problem that there is way too much damn money floating around in this game, and just like the US government the developers keep printing more money!
