    Alpha Slot Info

I'll be going for the Spiritual Core boost on Murcielago, the faster I can get Soul Drain up, the better.
  2. Its always sad to see a long time player leave

Be well, be safe, stay in school, and don't do drugs.

    11.5 from incidental set bonuses.

I keep getting tempted to reroll KM/SD to see if it can outperform my DM/SD but every time I want to, I pull up mids and siphon life pops out at me and says "HAS HEAL" and I change my mind.
That is one of the reasons why I won't reroll Murcielago to a KM. Plus Dark fits his concept so much better.
  4. You will want typed defense>hit points>regeneration>recovery>recharge.

If you go Katana or Broadsword you will be capped at S/L defense so you can focus on E/N/F/C.

Depending on the primary you will need a lot of recharge but if you go with something like Fire it doesn't take much recharge to run a chain that does great dps.
  5. Yes I know, wrong forum. This is where all the cool kids hang out

I am updating my Fire/Energy build and I want him to be scrapper-y, have decent s/l, good regen/recov, good defenses +30% to melee, and soft cap to s/l.

This is the build I'm at right now, but I want more! Also I'm not sure what would be a good attack chain for the current recharge this build has.

    Thanks for the help!

    This is an I19 build.

  6. In Pylon runs I never kill my fodder, but then again my fodder is L50+ rikti soldiers .
  7. I would try to slot weave a little bit more so you can lower your endurance consumption. Also maybe slot some Luck of the Gambler's into Deflection and Battle Agility to raise your passive regen and hp a little bit.
  8. I want Stone and Super Strength to be ported to Scrappers, gah I made such an awesome character and he's a lame SS/SD Tanker. I hate Tankers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, DM/SD is not exactly optimal for farming. Farming requires a good deal of AoE to kill as many enemies as possible, as quickly as possible. There was a thread recently about power set combinations that are best for farming. A DM/SD build is best for putting out very high single target DPS so you can kill AV's and other hard targets faster.
    +1

If you're looking to do farming, your best bet is either an Electric or Fire/Shield defense character. Dark will take too long to farm with.

I guess but I'd much rather slot Tactics with something more useful imho.

Now, here's the thing. City of Heroes costs $15 a month. In two months, you've essentially bought the game again. In four, you've bought a triple-A title. Considering that I bought a computer specifically to keep on top of The City Scoop, I've put more money into City of Heroes than I have on the rest of my self-funded gaming experiences as an adult. Possibly combined!

So, what is it? Why do I let my bar tab build up so quickly and so monumentally without my even caring?

    The Community

Time and again, people here have made me feel like I have a family. They've made me feel welcome, introduced me to new views and perspectives, and have always been for a good team. After the infamous random groups of other games, I can have a Pick-Up Group that provides stimulating conversation and witty banter. I'll never forget when I had never done a Hero-side Task Force before. A group of strangers did the original Positron Task Force. No breaks. Six hours. We stayed in high spirits the entire time. I genuinely can't imagine that experience happening with other games.

    ----

So, Veterans, why do you effectively buy this game again and again?

    * Except for last year, which was free.
Its easy, the community isn't full of A-holes, and the devs are evil.
  12. The only reason I could see why you'd want to pick up the RR Proc is for PvP outside of that I don't really see a reason for it. Not to mention you probably wouldn't want to PvP on a Dark/Shield.
  13. I already have grant cover, but yes I am picking up the leadership pool so I can increase my defense without set bonuses and then move some set bonuses around. Yes you need to have tactics on in order to have that proc on.
  14. I'd say work on your endurance consumption, its pretty high, you'll definitely need to use DC and CP a lot.

There are quite a few leveling builds in there. Most are built out to L50 but if you follow the order of when each power is taken then you're fine.
  16. Normally I'm not a meany head but really? There is a huge thread on the first page laden with about 100 DM/SD builds. Lazy!

  20. Santorican

    Dull Pain

I just thought of a really cool change to dull pain, keep the heal, and the +hp, and because of its name dull pain, add some sort of resistance component to it. You keep fighting and as you dull the incoming pain you become more resistance to X,Y,Z types of damage.
  21. DAMN! I need to sign up on twitter

I wonder how long it will take for the 145 builds I have...

If that is the price to pay then I'd pay for it any day.

That is a good idea and I will definitely make that change. Don't worry too much about exemplaring, I have a second build that allows me to keep my soft cap to L27.

My personal nit is that Smite only has 85.9% Acc vs. +4 without SD or Tactics. Not a huge deal, but one my build-OCD focuses on. You could move two slots from CJ into Battle Agility to make a 4-set of LotG to raise the Acc to 89.4% in Smite and your DDR goes up slightly(91.06%), but your Melee Def drops to 45.3%, which may not be enough of a buffer for you. I also admit to liking the purple damage proc and a Clouded Senses damage proc in Smite for better DPS, but I'll address that in my build update.
I would love to have slotting like that and I'll have to figure out a way to slot that and keep every aspect of the build with in a 95% target of what it is currently at.

Finally, I noticed you slotted two Menbranes and one Enzyme in AD. I know you're going to better end management but AD will have a brief period where you're not double-stacked. It may be a wise trade-off, but I've never tried it.
Yeah its either not have it ddr capped and have it permanent double stacked or have a small period of insanely under ddr capped and then be at the ddr cap lol. I might switch to having the 2% under ddr capped at all times.
