What IO bonuses do you shoot for w/ Willpower?
Defence and Recharge.
Defence is pretty clear cut.
Recharge gives you active mitigation from your primary and better damage from a better attack chain.
Typically when you build for these, you also satisfy what I would also say is very important: Max HP.
Regen bonuses amount to very, very little. On my WP/ tank she gets barely 1hp/s off a set bonus for regen, and when she has 100hp/s base with just a single enemy, why would you build for more? Much much better returns by just upping defence, recharge and HP.
You will want typed defense>hit points>regeneration>recovery>recharge.
If you go Katana or Broadsword you will be capped at S/L defense so you can focus on E/N/F/C.
Depending on the primary you will need a lot of recharge but if you go with something like Fire it doesn't take much recharge to run a chain that does great dps.

I think where recharge goes depends on primary and goals. If DPS is the goal, you'll probably want the recharge for most primaries. If survivability is the goal, many primaries offer some additional survivability, and recharge will help there as well. So I do think that in many cases, for many goals, recharge will be higher than hit points. Hit points are definitely high on the list, though. And defense first, yes.

I try to cap typed defenses and choose a primary that does well with low recharge... (fire, energy, kinetic)... After defense I'd focus on +hp and +regen.

I go for ~40% minimum S/L defence and then generally go for +HP.
Because of the whole layered defense thing, it looks like almost anything would be useful. I'm guessing maybe mostly regen and S/L defense?
I've never had a high enough level WP char to worry about IO's before, so help me out if you got a second.
