I can't report on other peoples' moods, but I can report on mine: I'm avoiding MA until issue 15 at the earliest, but not because of nerfs. Until the rating and search systems get improved, it's as useless as the paps on a boar hog. The nerfs make me hopeful that some day the system will be used for story telling, and not power leveling. The only part of the nerfing process that makes me angry is that there is no sign that Positron has carried through on his threat, which is why whenever I pass through Atlas Park or Cap au Diable on Virtue, it is increasingly evident that people have concluded he was bluffing. And they may be right, for all I can tell. I hope he's not; if the powerleveling gets back out of control the way it was because Paragon Studios doesn't have the guts to penalize blatant exploiters, MA, and for that matter much of the rest of the game, will be dead to me.

Someone needs to stop caring so much about what other people do with their playtime...

QFT, the sheer amount of Stop Having Fun Guys from my fellow roleplayers towards the hardcores is absolutely [censored] disgusting. ;/
[/ QUOTE ]
And look, a flame war! WHOOHOO can I fan the flames?
Basically if farmers/PL'rs had just keep their exploits quiet, nothing would have happened. As it happened, all the farming/pl stuff FLOODED every aspect of AE and so people complained. Stop acting like you guys were just quietly playing in the corner when it was more like a massive block party.
[/ QUOTE ]
"You guys"? So you think the non-farmers and RPers are causing the problem?
Ohhh, wait, I get it. You thought because I was commenting on the annoying display of schadenfreude that I actually was one of these despised farmers, rather than someone who genuinely doesn't care how other people spend their time having fun.
You know what assuming makes you... -
The MA was too limited when it came out, and as they continue to take stuff away instead of expanding it, I find it a waste of time.

I are amused.

Odd. I are not even a farmer, and I are not amused.
If they keep taking stuff away, nobody's going to use the architect at all. -

I don't understand this discussion at all.
Before stamina, end management is a pain in the backside unless you use regen. Or a tank with WP.
It sucks. It makes the game dull and annoying. I've fully fallen into the camp that powerlevels to 22.
I am Jack's disgust towards downtime.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no discussion possible. There is the correct position, which you support, and there's any other position, all of which are wrong. -

However, there's the fact that at lower levels, you're NOT supposed to be able to attack like a madman, and a continuous pace, throughout a mission. It's good training for end management that should serve you well later in in the game when your enhancements allow for a bit more leeway.
[/ QUOTE ]
How is having endurance management suck early in the game good training for anything in the late game, where endurance management is dramatically easier because you have so many more options, all of which are more effective?
Endurance management in the lowbie game isn't good for anything except making me not want to play my lowbie alts.
[/ QUOTE ]
This, a thousand times over.
Something seriously needs to be done to fix this problem in the early levels. It's to the point I don't even want to play anything lower than level 25 any more, because the early game sucks hairy donkey balls. I haven't played a character under 50 with any regularity for probably 9 months now. Considering that much of this game's replay value comes from alts, this is NOT A GOOD THING.
Fix the frigging early levels and you wouldn't have seen such a huge problem with Mission Architect powerleveling either. There's a reason everyone wants to skip those levels. -
And here I thought the moderators were supposed to stop any thread from turning political...

Hell, I thought Daredevil was great. Yeah, I said it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Daredevil was better than most people give it credit for.
That still doesn't put it in the "great" category. "Great" is reserved for Iron Man or Spiderman or X-Men 2 or Nolan's Batman movies. Daredevil was "okay".
Transformers was "okay" too, but it was also more "fun" than Daredevil was. -

It's been a long time coming (due to less free-time, actually) but... final upgrade for Valkyrior!
[/ QUOTE ]
That's one of the most awesome costumes I've seen in the game. What sword is that, is that a Vanguard broadsword? -
[ QUOTE ]
That will never happen, I tell you what, the developers don't get assignable spawn-points, why would we?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, they do, actually. There are plenty of missions, especially redside, where the required objectives always spawn in the same place. -
We ought to be able to pick and choose if an enemy has a specific ability. We can give an enemy Defiance, or Overpower, or Criticals, or Fury, or Scourge, or some kind of inherent slow resist like Warwolves, or Carnie-style Phase Shift, but it's not automatic, it's something we need to be able to choose. We could even choose all of them together. Coming across one or two enemies per mission with these abilities would be a fun surprise and extra challenge. Having it default with the powersets... not so cool.
-
Malta and Knives are really easy to duplicate.
-
What I'm talking about is the way that certain enemies have an inherent ability that's not necessarily a power. Most of this is accomplished by setting a mag level resistance. For example, Vahzilok zombies are resistant to immobilizes. Arachnoids are resistant to slows. Warwolves are resistant to both. There are other resistances, like Freak Tanks and Malta Titans being HIGHLY resistant to Smashing/Lethal damage. Of course there are other special abilities that are much more akin to powers, such as the Banished Pantheon summons.
This is a great thing that really increases the variety of an enemy group.
Allows us to customize enemies by choosing special abilities outside of powers. -
The text on the character IDs has been seriously screwed up ever since I14 came out. Carriage returns have been stripped out of them and the characters at the ends chopped off. When the heck will this be fixed?
-
The 'profanity' filter needs to disappear. There are far too many words on it that are innocuous.
-
It's been frustrating and disappointing.
Every single arc I've tried to create has been sunk by at least one mission where I wanted to do something that some developer-created mission has already done, that would be critical to the story, but is impossible to do in the Architect.
I don't think I'll be making any missions until they fix up the Architect to a level that we can at least duplicate developer-created missions. Seems to me they should've waited to announce it until they were prepared to release it in that form anyway. -
I was just coming here to ask almost the same question.
More than one mission in the dev created content has an either/or objective. You can either defeat all enemies or click the four glowies, that kind of thing. The Architect, as far as I can tell, only allows you to have required or optional objectives, and you must collect all required objectives to complete the mission. Where are our either/or objectives? -
They just need to let us pick and choose powers individually for custom enemies and things would be much easier to balance.
-
They really ought to allow this. There are some badges, such as the Red Cap badge, that you can only gain villainside at two times during the entire year.
Really unfair, actually. The Architect would be a great way to even out this imbalance. -

Several people have mentioned the youthfulness of the face. I'd like to explain a little further;
I met a woman online named Becky. I don't know her well and I've never met her in person, but I've learned that Becky used to be overweight and geeky to the point of being teased. A lot. Over the last couple of years, she has dedicated herself to a healthy lifestyle and has really shaped up - she now regularly models as various superheroes at conventions, but her favorite is Emma Frost. I chose to feature her as the face model in this piece, in part, to celebrate her success in turning her life around.
If you google 'Becky "aktrez" Young', you'll see her in several of her costumes. so while the face isn't as old, or strong, or severe as Emma Frost might need to be, it mattered to me more to feature Becky as she looks now.
She loves the piece. That's what mattered most to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh... you mean that's HER (although I always think of her as Black Cat, she's got the best Black Cat costume I have ever seen).
Well then, you NAILED it. -
That's a fantastic piece. At a first quick glance it almost looks like a photo.
I do somewhat agree with Foo about the face. Emma's always struck me as patrician and the current face has a down-home quality to it. That really doesn't detract from the piece though. -
What, nobody else has run into this? Is it really just me?
Maybe I need to consult a GM... -
When setting an Escort objective parameters, you can choose the animation for the group surrounding the hostage, and the hostage itself. Unfortunately, if you choose a model from the Civilian as a hostage in an Escort objective, a large number of animations are unavailable, most notably such animations labeled Captured (X), which has the captive floating in a fire, surrounded by a fire cage, etc.
This has to be a bug and really needs to be fixed quickly. -
In a similar vein, I notice the MA can differentiate a character's sex. What is the code that would allow the mission to use the proper pronouns? $sex? $gender?
