Animation problems with Escort objectives
What, nobody else has run into this? Is it really just me?
Maybe I need to consult a GM...

It's more a matter that this is a known bug since at least early Open Beta, and has been discussed many times here and elsewhere. There are several open problems with animations, and hopefully we'll get some dev attention at some point; but considering the game-damaging problems we're still dealing with, this sort of thing is presumably a low priority.

When setting an Escort objective parameters, you can choose the animation for the group surrounding the hostage, and the hostage itself. Unfortunately, if you choose a model from the Civilian as a hostage in an Escort objective, a large number of animations are unavailable, most notably such animations labeled Captured (X), which has the captive floating in a fire, surrounded by a fire cage, etc.
This has to be a bug and really needs to be fixed quickly.
