100KB Limit

Are there any plans to increase this? I'm finding that already on my second mission in my arc that I'm having to cut back. My plans of a five part arc are pretty much shattered now.

I thought the file size pertained to only one mission, not the entire arc. I have to say that I'm sort of disappointed that my creativity is actually hindering me.

I have to agree. 100KB is way way way too small.

I'll have to use all three of my mission slots just to finish my arc. Then the problem arises that I won't get nearly as much exposure because of them being broken into three fragments.

Maybe add an increase in size to the ticket vendor?

Simple solution: Don't have so many custom enemies.

The one custom group I've made so far took up about 40KB at 6 different members. So if every 20 KB are good for 3 custom characters, well, you do the math. That's 13-14 custom characters max you'll have in your arc overall. Nothing else really takes up space.

If you absolutely can't hack it with 14 custom characters, you have two options: One, split your arc into several. Two, find existing replacements for your current custom characters.

For most missions, the 100 KB are more than enough.

What is pushing you over the limit? Custom critters? How many do you need to make useable opponents? Are all the enemies Custom?

Costumes are especially problematic. Set all color options that are not in use (or not visible) in a particular costume piece to Black since the files store it in an RGB value. This will reduce the file size significantly.

So the solution is to use characters already present in the world? Meh. If that's the case I'm pretty much done with the architect deal until something gets changed.

This is basically just a random mission generator. Same old faces with new objectives.

I was ready to creative elaborate arcs with backgrounds following the timeline. Guess that pretty much just got shot in the foot, eh?

Not like most people playing are interested in rich or even decent stories anyway. Just looking at the terminal its pretty evident: people only want to beat up big packs of monsters.

I'll try to reduce all I can but being on my second mission in my five part arc, I really don't see this happening.

100k per mission would be fine. For a 5 mission arc, not so much.

If the solution to the problem is for players to limit their creativity, then the devs need to eliminate the problem. We waited an extra four months so we could have more creativity, and due to this ridiculously low space allotment, that creativity is being severely limited.

Okay, I've removed ALL custom characters. Using just the council as the enemies on my two maps I'm at 80%. How do you explain that one?

I've removed the boss encounter from the first mission and removed the two collections. The second mission doesn't even have ANY objectives as of yet.

Uh... could you post your list of objectives, then? Something must be terribly wrong because I just made a test arc with the Council as an enemy group and it's using all of .79% of that 100kb.

False.

Edit: actually technically true, but unhelpful to mission size. See the link above for more info.

Hehe this makes me laugh.. My 4 mision arc, soo far, has a bit more dialog tweaking in the first 4 missions, probly not a ton, but some im sure it will add another 2-3kb though and im sitting at almost 50kb already.

Im fine with that though,

by the time the dialog/story is all done, ill probly be sitting at around 60KB total.. with my one ally, maybe 65k I seam to be averaging 10-15kb per mission for dialog, clues and all the custom chat. Hopefully all this works pays off and people enjoy the story

Agreed. When I realized that limit I got extremely frustrated. So much for creativity... same old stuff.
