This kind of highlights the flaw of your argument. First off, it didn't lose steam so much as just sucked. Spiderman 1 and 2? Great! Spiderman 3? Felt like an elseworld comic. It's like they did a reboot before the franchise was done. Also, Spiderman wasn't that long ago. Are we so bad at generating ideas we have to repeat them before half a decade has gone by?

Think of it this way, running the same movie concepts over and over is like when your favorite band finally gets some air play on the radio, and they play it non-stop to the point you hate it. Is that really what you want movies to be like?

Oh, I'm aware of that. My set up is just for fine tuning. Many of my builds will soft-cap with one small purple. This way, I can keep the higher tiers for reds. It's just a preference thing.

Just reds? Why stop there? Might I recommend the power of Popmenus.

You can use one particular set up to easily combine all tiers of reds and any other inspiration with just a few key strokes.
  5. Your 2 billion isn't nearly as impressive as the amount of powers you seem to want access to. Might I suggest the power of popmenu commands?

    Why Elec/ Tank?

    Why?

Elec/ gives you higher resist numbers, the ability to attack faster, the endurance to keep going endlessly, as well as draining enemies in long battles (making them useless).

What other set gives you that?

  8. Installed the launcher and it's working just fine. It even updated Test and Beta pretty fast. Faster than I've seen it do before.

Now... can we make it look... less ugly?

The Art Director in me is wants to weep for it.

Okay. Short, Short, Short, Short Version.

The developers already told us that additional power customization options would be looked at AFTER GOING ROGUE LAUNCHED

The Earliest Point in Time that any additional Development on Power Customization could have started was August 18th, 2010, after Going Rogue Launched.

Exposing Power Pool, Epic / Patron Pool, and Costume Overlays to the editing system Is not an easy task, nor is it low-hanging fruit.

Exposing these options to players requires additional Database work, additional engine modifications, as well as additional UI work. This is going to take Time to get through. The developers KNOW that we want this stuff. They already done told us more modifications were on the way.

Now, are these customization options ultimately going to be exposed to Patron Powers Explicitly? Nobody knows yet. Some of the developers have mooted the idea that Patron Powers will retain their native colors as those powers are not "natural player powers" as the Epic Powers are. Such murmurings are often accompanied by the possibility of additional story arcs unlocking Hero Specific Patron powers, probably the same power lists that are unlocked as would be gained by completing the Villain Patron Arcs.

Seriously folks, don't bother pointing out the inanity of anything A_F spouts. He'll just waste your time with straw man arguments, absurd assertions, derailing distractions and then character insults. Best to let him think he actually convinced anyone he knows what he's talking about and move on.

What would all nine powers be?
On the other hand, how fun would it be to have a Time/Kin or Time/FF Controller!

    Wait... whaddya mean unbalanced!?

Being more serious now, Aett has a point. Sounds like a lot of debuff. Best to give out some power descriptions for the whole set. Time Stop: Hold, Time Pocket: AoE Hold, Time Travel: Foe -Level Shift, etc.

[keep in mind, these are examples of uninspired names and powers — except for Time Travel, that sounds more stupid]

    [stupid awesome, that is!]

The problem is that the logic behind your reasoning is fundamentally wrong. You gave an example of a gunslinger using a vest to be "resistant to bullets." The problem is that your vest example coincides with having an Armor Set, not a Blaster Set. You basically described a Blaster/Tanker hybrid, which isn't available in the game. For good reason.

So yes, many of us thought of something you didn't.

Protective Gear would be the secondary, then. Not the primary. Vests aren't guns. They aren't part of being able to use a gun.

Another example for your original fire is fire mentality.

If Pyro from the Marvel universe was launched into the sun, he'd still die.

If Ice Man had a glacier dropped on top of him, he'd more than likely get smashed.

If Havoc stuck a fork into an electrical outlet, he'd still light up my life. (What? I hate his character)
  18. Wouldn't this have the opposite effect of what the OP suggests? If I was missing out on XP the team leader got, I'd quit the team and form my own. Then people would realize that they weren't getting the XP either, and quit the team I formed to make their own team. Then the people on that team... you get the point.

Basically, you'd have everyone wanting to lead and no one wanting to follow. How would that work for teaming?
  19. I liked this episode better when it was called The Hangover. I also liked last week's episode better when it was called Date Night. And Collateral was much better when it was called The Matrix.

Seriously, no one's seeing a repetitive problem for this show in its final season?

Last week, Clark decided to put on glasses (and somehow, despite years of people knowing what his face looks like without them, this works instantly) and wants to keep his identity a secret. While I know an off-camera Zatanna is to blame, I think it's poorly timed that Clark is doing the same things that made him stand out before. Even after the "potion" has worn off. Like speeding off in the middle of the street and running into a wall. And where are his f'n glasses?!?

  21. Hmm, I'm having a problem with a new popmenu file. I make a new MNU file for each armor set. I opened an old one, changed out the names, saved the file as stonearmor.mnu and used the ANSI encoding in Notepad when saving the file as I always do. I go into the game, type "/bind [key] popmenu StoneArmor" and get nada. I've gone through and checked everything numerous times. I've done this for all the MNU files I've made, so what am I missing this time?

    Code:
// POPMENU File for Stone Armor – Super Strength
    //
    Menu "StoneArmor"
    {
    Title "StoneArmor"
Option "Rock Armor &1" "powexecname Rock Armor$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Rooted &2" "powexecname Rooted$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Brimstone Armor &3" "powexecname Brimstone Armor$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Crystal Armor &4" "powexecname Crystal Armor$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Minerals &5" "powexecname Minerals$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Weave &6" "powexecname Weave$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Tough &7" "powexecname Tough$$popmenu StoneArmor"
Option "Mudpots &8" "powexecname Mudpots$$popmenu StoneArmor"
    }

Is this the part where I say that most people probably don't have and probably don't even care about bleeding-edge builds, and you say that I need exhaustive population statistics to prove it? Let me save you the effort: I can't prove it, but happily not all unprovable statements are unreasonable. We have dev commentary ("casually purpled warshade") and the obvious, comparative rarity of purples to suggest that purples are supposed to be very high-end items.

Is it appropriate for me to point out that you claimed to have 70 billion influence banked (hardly a sign that you're panicking about the value of the currency, btw), and that perhaps your perceptions are therefore skewed?

In any case, I don't need population statistics to show that a great build can be made without purples or PvPIOs. UberGuy's 80/20 philosophy is spot-on, as far as CoH builds go. If anything, 80% performance for such builds is generally an underestimate.
Watch out, he's going to claim you speak in tongues too.
  25. A new series?! Hell no! Let it die already!

Unless you mean the new series wouldn't be handle by the same people, wouldn't be so riddled with plot holes and character inconsistencies as this show, and wouldn't be geared towards teeny bop drama kids.

In which case, sure, let's see a new series.
