  1. Just to go against the flow here...

Elec/Fire Brute with 50% recharge bonuses will do some serious farming. You know, just in case you're tired of playing SS, or want a good mix of exotic damage types.

I'm not saying it's necessarily as fast as SS/Fire, but I doubt you'd notice a difference in time SO significant you'd be upset over it.
  2. This thread should have been done after the first response.

    Who Will Die?

So we have an image suggesting Manticore and one suggesting BAB. And Gameinformer has one suggesting...

So I wouldn't hedge all my bets because on a teaser poster. I think they're trying to leave some mystery to it.

    Hulk Movies

Don't worry OP, I liked the first Hulk better. 3 big reasons:

    1) Better story and character development.

    2) The Hulk looked more real, IMO, and not fake and plasticy (a word I made up) like in the second one.

    3) Bana > Norton.

    YMMV.

    .
That's quite a few qualifiers to be throwing around. Those situations are few and far between, and any AT can be replaced in those situations. So please, find a new dead horse. This one's just pink pulp now.

    Budget Build(s)

Looking to keep her more AOE minded with the boosted difficulty sliders with an eye on these Incarnate trials (her Alpha is unlocked thanks to the new Account Merits).
Well, Ice/SS is a good combo. If you're looking to take her into iTrials, I'd suggest building her S/L/E/N up to 59% defense (55% would be good so that a moderately fueled EA gets you the rest of the way) so that you're at the iTrial softcap. Ice/ makes it easy to do so and still build in recharge. 6 slotting Mocking Beratement in taunt would help towards that goal. I'd suggest using the A-merits for at least one set of Kinetic Combats. And you can slot 3 Cleaving blows and 3 (cheaper) Eradications in your AoE's for excellent E/N defense. Just make sure you go Cardiac to make up for the endurance slotting or have EA recharging very fast.

    Budget Build(s)

    Hey there! And welcome back!

Sounds like the first things you need is Mids' Hero Planner. It's an excellent tool for losing hours of your life and for seeing how IO slotting will affect your tanker. I highly recommend trying it out before you get a build from someone else. It's an excellent learning tool.

Also, before anyone can make a "budget build" for you, we need to know what kind of budget you have. Also, are you familiar with the Alignment Merit system and the IO recipes it makes available to everyone on a smaller budget? And, last but not least, you'll need to let us know what you'd like to see for you tankers before we can just suggest a build. There's not a lot of point in someone taking the time to make a build only to hear you say later, "Oh, that's not what I was looking to do with my tank."

    Best of luck!
  10. The description is fine as is. Unless they start describing Blasters as having Highest Ranged Damage, then there's no need to describe Tanker damage as Lowest Melee. Damage is damage is damage. But, if you have to beat a dead horse with your agenda, might I suggest some sage advice:

    Quote:
    Money talks.

If you, or anyone else, isn't pleased with tankers being described as medium damage, the best way to voice your opinion so it has any impact is via the 'Cancel Subscription' exit survey.

If you're on the forum, they've got your money so they don't care what you think about the Incarnate system. If enough people walk, and they're saying the same thing, the devs might take notice.
I made a minor edit to accomodate the current situation.

I think doing all of that but the -rec/drain would work. Imagine a controller with 2 -rec/-end PBAoE powers. I think Galvanize should still offer the Psi Res. Not many defender primaries provide it, and it is part of electric defensive sets.

I considered making suggested powers for -recovery, but since this would be a Controller secondary set, there would be a lot of overlap with what Electric control offers. I did think the debuff proc in Ionize Other would be a good way to implement the -recov.

    Quote:
Secondly, the set leans heavily on buffing teammates and little debuff, mitigation, or any sort of interaction with foes, which gives it absolutely zero solo possibilities. Last and foremost, with every single power being a buff, can you imagine giving all 9 of those buffs to single scrapper? Good Lord!

    *Cowers in corner*
Well, I'm completely open to suggestion for good debuffs to help in solo situations, but I don't think the heavy buff oriented method is much different from Empathy and FF. And not EVERY power is a buff. There is one attack in there. Changing the second heal to a debuff would probably be a good idea though. Suggestions?
  15. I got a little bored at work yesterday, and decided to put a little time and thought into something I've always wanted to see: an electric themed defender primary. The biggest concern I had was that it needs to bring something to the table other defender primaries don't, while not allowing too much repitition with controller primaries. While I'm sure electric themed powersets have been suggested, I'm hoping mine isn't completely unoriginal.

So, here's what I came up with.

Charged Shield Surround your allies with a charged shield that provides resistance to Smashing, Lethal and Energy damage.
Duration: 2 Mins. Does not stack from same caster. Targeted AoE buff.
    + 20% Res to S/L Damage
    +10% Res to Energy Damage

Energize Other You send an electric charge to your ally, recovering health and increasing regeneration.
Duration: 30 Seconds. Does not stack from same caster. Single Target heal.
+20% Caster base HP on ally
    +100% Regeneration

Conductive Shield Surround your allies with a conductive armor that provides resistance to Fire, Cold, Energy and Negative Energy.
Duration: 2 Mins. Does not stack from same caster. Target AoE buff.
    +20% Res to F/C/E Damage
    +10% Res to NE Damage

Galvanize You galvanize your team mates, stimulating their minds and protecting them from Stuns, Holds, Sleeps, Fears and Psionic Damage.
Duration: 90 Secs. Targeted AoE buff. Resistance only affects target, and last 2 Mins. Does not stack from same caster.
+10 Stun, Hold, Sleep and Fear
    +20% Psionic Damage.

Charge Up You send a surge of energy through your ally, boosting the recharge of their powers.
Duration: 90 Secs. Does not stack from same caster. Targeted AoE buff.
    +30% Recharge

Ionize Other You ionize air around your team mate, allowing them to deliver electrical shocks to their foes.
Duration: 2 mins. Base Recharge: 60 seconds. Does not stack from same caster. Single target buff.
Ally recieves 50% chance to do Energy Damage (think IO proc) and 50% chance to drain a small amount from foe endurance and recovery, and to transfer endurance to self.
The Reactive Interface shows that this kind of thing can be done, so hopefully it wouldn't require much more additional coding (but what do I know)

Alternate Current When an ally is in trouble, you can quickly alternate a current between you and them. This allows you to transfer some of your hit points to them, while giving yourself a recovery boost as well.
Duration of buff: 30 seconds. Recharge: 30 seconds. Single target heal. Self buff stacks duration only.
+40% Caster base HP on ally
    +200% recovery rate on self
    -10% Base HP of caster

Feedback You create an electrical grid with nearby allies, creating a positive feedback loop that creates a lightning strike at their location, striking foes in their vicinity. You will drain a fair amount of your own endurance as a result of the feedback loop.
    Recharge: 2 Mins
I'll need number help on this, so that it maintains some balance with powers like Fallout. Basically, up to 4 allies near you (maybe 30 ft. radius) become AoE attacks (probably 10 ft. radius) up to 5 foes for each (16 target cap). And you will lose 30 endurance.

Surge You create a surge of power through an ally, increasing their resistance to damage, and increasing their recovery and recharge.
Duration: 90 seconds. Recharge: 180 seconds. Single target buff.
+15% Res to all. +30% Recharge.
    +50% Recharge
    +200% Recovery

So, does it sound balanced? Would you play a set like this? What would you tweak/relace/rename?

As others have mentioned, Backspace does what you're looking for. But in case you find yourself needing to respond to multiple tells that come to quickly for you to keep up with, you can click on the persons name in the message box, and a select "Send Tell" to respond to them when Backspace won't reply to them.

Gleason adds, “Often people talk about deposition on a flexible device — but then they don’t flex it, to actually demonstrate” that it can survive the stress. In this case, in addition to the folding tests, the MIT team tried other tests of the device’s robustness. For example, she says, they took a finished paper solar cell and ran it through a laser printer — printing on top of the photovoltaic surface, subjecting it to the high temperature of the toner-fusing step — and demonstrated that it still worked. Test cells the group produced last year still work, demonstrating their long shelf life.
This part here sounds pretty cool. As an art director, I see huge potential for printed ads and collateral pieces. Business cards that could charge your cell phone. Ads that illuminated when you turn to their page in the magazine. Though, the amount of junk mail I receive would probably get worse...

The large scale applications of this could be game changing for us, I really hope this takes off.
  19. Found out last night that Netflix does have Evil Dead available for streaming. But not Evil Dead 2, which I wanted to see even more.
  20. Now I've got the itch to rewatch the series...
  21. Putting slots into prestige powers? I'm not sure if I should weep for you, or write this off as trolling, considering the numerous times people mentioned this was an all new Primary/Secondary power set.

What's selfish about making your tank more durable? The more durable the tank, the more bullets you take for your team mates.
