Wow, wouldn't have expected you of all people to be such a defender of the status quo. As I stated, Superman from AC#1 was an agent of social justice, and not necessarily of agent of the law. That's clearly the same direction NuAC#1 is going in as well.

    DCnU [Spoilers!]

After not having bought a floppy comic in a year, I broke down and got Action Comics #1 (because I love Morrison) and Stormwatch #1 (total whim).

Action Comics #1 was fanatastic. It's modernized, but harkens back to the original Action Comics #1 -- a young, angry Superman that's more into social justice than fighting petty criminals. He's stirring up hornet's nests at the top of the food chain, but the common folks are learning to love him and trust him.

Stormwatch #1 was kind of a mess, but I've never read Stormwatch before in any of its Image or Wildstorm incarnations. But seeing that these new #1s are supposed to allow for new readers, you'd think that it wouldn't be required. As it is, the issue felt rushed, and featured a scene of "superheroes fight instead of talk" cliche. Some nice ideas here though (a sentiant, hostile Moon!), but I'm more likely to skip the next installment.

Animal Man #1 was getting a lot of buzz at the shop as well.
  4. He didn't have any guns (at first) in the original Die Hard.

"Now I have a machine gun.

    Ho-ho-ho."
  5. Question: since we can't use free players as mounts, can VIPs with Grav Control summon them to hurl at their enemies with [Propel]?
  6. Got my son to keep his room clean for 8 straight days by promising him a booster pack of his choice before they all went away.

He chose the Martial Arts pack.

If they stay the way they are then I won't be spending my paragon points on them.
How do you know that the boot doesn't come in the regular/large/spiked/stilleto/whatever versions that most of the boots come in?
  8. I assume it will have any costume piece that was part of any booster/pack or the Going Rogue expansion, plus the new IDF/Defense pieces, plus the old level 20 auras.

    Just conjecture on my part.

Thanks for saving me the time of actually reading the list.

Absolutely not true. He said there was none for Issue 21. He just as emphatically said there were some coming. Naturally, they won't be straight 'ports for the assault set though (like Earth Assault).
  12. Synapse: 16 - 2 = 14
    Back Alley Brawler: 2 + 1 = 3
    Sister Psyche: 9

    Statesman: Dead
    Citadel: Dead
    Numina: Dead
    Positron: Dead
    Manticore: Dead
  13. I'd say luck. My newly minted Level 50 human-form Warshade has been getting a steady diet of commons and uncommons.

  15. My main villain feels that he's a misunderstood genius that's been pushed to the fringes of society by lesser minds. To him, he's the protagonist of his stories, but the reality is that he takes the easy way all of the time.

I have another villain who is an amoral assassin-for-hire.

I have another who was a victim of dark forces as a teenager who has been scarred ever since, ended up on the wrong end of the law, but is slowly trying to gain redemption.

I have another who is a serial killer, a psychopath who murdered most of his own family -- but is unfailingly polite and even charming.

I have another who is a former hero who took the Clockwork King for granted and had her psyche stripped from her body and placed into a prototype Clockwork body. This process has made her pretty much completely insane.

I could go on. How do I want to play them? Preferably, I'd have as many options as possible.
  16. Synapse: 25
    Back Alley Brawler: 43 + 1 = 44
    Manticore: 16 - 2 = 14
    Sister Psyche: 28

    Statesman: Dead
    Citadel: Dead
    Numina: Dead
    Positron: Dead
  17. I'm in! December Man, Ice/Kin Corrupter.
  18. Synapse has also indicated that there is powerset proliferations for Dominators in the works.
  19. Synapse: 22
    Back Alley Brawler: 47 + 1 = 48
    Manticore: 17 - 1 = 16
    Sister Psyche: 29

    Statesman: Dead
    Citadel: Dead
    Numina: Dead
    Positron: Dead
  20. 1. Make any villain.
    2. When I21 launches, play the new Sewer Trial.
    3. 20 levels later, make a VEAT.

  21. Synapse: 20
    Back Alley Brawler: 45
    Manticore: 18 - 1 = 17
    Positron: 4 + 1 = 5
    Sister Psyche: 28

    Statesman: Dead
    Citadel: Dead
    Numina: Dead

I can get behind the Manti hate too.
  22. I too suspect an early/mid September release. Sounds like the potential hold ups would be:

    1. New account server hardware needs to be installed and tested.
    2. Mac users not being able to access the market.

No goodies. But if you make the account prior to I21, you get at minimum 400 Paragon Points for having an active account prior to launch.

This is a good deal for anyone who wants to play Free/Premium on a new account. It's essentially $5 of points for $2.

I've done this with teams that are short in the buff/debuff department. It's not the most exciting way to fight, but it works. At the very minimum, it's good to off the Healing Nictus.

Your team sounds like it's got enough muscle though to take on Rommy directly. I agree that you should pull Rommy into the grass to avoid the ambushes. Purple/orange inspirations plus cold buffs should keep everyone on their feet. The kin 'troller should spam Transfusion for the -Regen. Enevenomed Daggers and Shivans would be bonus.

When Rommy dies, everyone should get out of line of sight to avoid getting stunned on the rez.
