Is it luck or something more?
I'd say luck. My newly minted Level 50 human-form Warshade has been getting a steady diet of commons and uncommons.

Yeah random is random.
All of my toons have gotten at least 1 very rare with the sole exception of my brute.
I have been on trials since they came out and have yet to get a very rare on him.
Alts on all servers, lvl 50 of every AT:
lvl 50 Heroes on all servers but; Pinnacle, Victory
lvl 50 Villains on all servers but; Guardian, Pinnacle, Triumph, Victory
Current Projects: Tanks

The Devs have coded in that part of Kheldians inherent is a 'luck' attribute. This results in slightly higher (generally not too much so) odds for various higher tier rewards being granted. You're slightly more likely to get larger inspirations, uncommon/rare salvage, purples, etc, than everyone else.
It was part of the buffs a while back, along with the changes to Nova and the shields.
everything in this post was total BS

I'm going to go with luck - My scrapper 'needed' to buy all 4 VRs through Emps and upgrading (at the old prices). My blaster got the 4 he needed from the reward window before he was done unlocking lore/destiny (and was stuck for the longest time due to a lack of rares, eventually I got a couple extra VRs and downgraded them).
"My inner mind has become a reality-cracking overgod. He torments me! Help!"
Some characters really do seem to get luckier with drops than others... It's just the nature of random being random.
With my crew, it was my Archery Blaster who got a ridiculous number of VR bits. He got eight of the things all together. My Rad defender got five. Most got one or two... Several got none at all.
@Brightfires - @Talisander
That chick what plays the bird-things...
It's luck unless you're Rx10. If you are Rx10 then it's proof that the $archetype you're playing has a superior chance for drops compared to all other ATs. Of course if you're Rx10 then the same thing is true of the mission type, time of the day, phase of the moon, and how long since you last took your anti-psychotics when it comes to the odds of getting better rewards.
But for you, since you're not Rx10, it's just luck.

He was also rather obviously delusional and very irrational. i didn't read all of his posts, but my impression from the ones i read was usually that he would develop a bizarrely flawed premise and then insist despite all evidence to the contrary that it must be right.
So really more delusional than psychotic or paranoid in my opinion, but then i'm not a psychologist.

i thought the difference between neurosis and psychosis was whether it kept you from being to function in society.

Paranoid personality disorder is a psychiatric diagnosis characterized by paranoia and a pervasive, long-standing suspiciousness and generalized mistrust of others. Those with the condition are hypersensitive, are easily slighted, and habitually relate to the world by vigilant scanning of the environment for clues or suggestions to validate their prejudicial ideas or biases.

You make a compelling case for a paranoid diagnosis.
However the page does validate my reference to anti-psychotic medications even if it was more a less a bit of flippant humor:
Treatment Because of reduced levels of trust, there can be challenges in treating paranoid personality disorder. However, psychotherapy, antidepressants, antipsychotics and anti-anxiety medications can play a role when an individual is receptive to intervention. |

Recently I decided to dust off my Warshade and get her at least the T1 Incarnate powers and the perma-level shift from Alpha.
It didn't occur to me that I'd be able to get T4's in all 5 available slots in a relatively short time, but that's exactly what happened. How?
Well, I don't know if it's dumb luck, RNG or another factor, but in the last week I've had 13 Very Rare drops (at one point 5 in a row), 8 Rares and only a smattering of Uncommon and Commons. On other characters I've not been able to land a Very Rare no matter how many times I run a trial...
So what do you think? Is it the 3 extra (5 sometimes with the Lore pets) pets constantly doing damage? Is it the crazy # of AoE's? Is it dumb luck? Is it making up for other characters not ever landing one? I could see that if I had maybe 2 or 3 drop, but 13 is a pretty ridiculous number.
