    Nasty build

If anything would be defined as "Nasty" it would probably be Spines. Secondary? It doesn't really matter, probably Dark Armor. Of course, the definition of "Nasty" to me is disgusting and ugly.

Default spines is relatively that, nothing like a bunch of bones sticking out of your body, especially with green stuff oozing from them. You could color Dark Armor to a dark green to further add to the effect of disgust.

Although, if you're speaking about "nasty" in terms of devastation, look no further than to */*. Cause that is what Scrappers are for, devastation.
  2. Just having a quick glance over your build, I can tell you that you will have end problems, even with cardiac incarnate if you're planning to spam your aoes. I'm on my phone, so I can't say for sure, but doesn't Battle Agility have -def resistance also?

Also, if you're soft capped without combat jumping, running it will help alleviate any minor -def you encounter with 89% DDR.

  5. Here's my try at it.

From my experience with Invul, it is relatively decent in survivability because it has stacked survivability. Resistance + Defense. What I did was focus on getting higher defense, generally speaking Smashing/Lethal/Energy/Negative.

I managed to get you to 40% S/L defense and 42% En/Neg defense with one enemy in range, and with 5, you'll be soft-capped.. It may be end heavy, but with the Cardiac Alpha slot, it should alleviate a lot of the end problems. On top of that, with the T4 Cardiac, you'll have resistance as well, hard capping your Smashing/Lethal resistance at 75% which is very nice.

I skipped Unstoppable because I generally don't like to have those god-mode powers as a Scrapper unless it is there to save a slot. I'm not much of a number cruncher myself, so I can't tell you if this toon will still run into end problems even with T4 Cardiac, but on mids it looks relatively nice.

    Here it is:

Edit: Also, I'd like to add that this might be mildly expensive. >.> Didn't know price range, or else I would've chosen a few different sets, although generally speaking, most of it is accurate.
  6. Oops, as I finished typing this, I checked again and it worked. >.>
  7. Can't really go wrong with a Fire/Shield Scrapper. There are tons of threads about 'em around here. It's great damage, good survivability if you carry some purples with you. All you'd really need is one or two purple inspirations once you get SO'd and all. And along the way, if you ever plan to IO out, he'll be an unstoppable beast.
  8. Didn't want to read the entire thread, but there are lots of great ideas and am not sure if this was suggested yet. The idea originates after fighting the Praetorian PPD. I would say it would be cool to see some, if not all variants of armors and shield buffs act like this. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll explain it. When you attack a Praetorian PPD, when he gets hit, he has some sort of body shield envelop his chest, but for the most part, the shield is invisible. I could see this pretty much working for almost all the armors and shield buffs, and it would reduce people getting past when they get buffed by ice shields, or fire shields cause they can't see their toon.

Another thing I would like to see is being able to have multiple animations of jumping and running. I'm not just saying like Ninja Run, but sometimes you want your toon to run around like a mad man with his arms flailing about or like a sprinter (Somewhere between sprint and ninja run.) instead of running in a proper form.

Also, maybe I'm the only one, but I'm not a fan of Lightning Rod. I'd prefer something similar to the alternate foot stomp. Raise fist upwards, teleport and punch the ground with a boom.
  9. Personally, those are the only kind of tfs that I'll have an interest to do anymore. I did a stf which I was constantly held back, such as fighting gw at the end, where they were afraid gw would heal off my soft capped fire/shield, which even IF I got hit, I was pretty sure to deal more damage than she would be healed by.

Back on topic, I am thinking of doing an all scrapper dr Kahn tf, but I'm not sure if that dimensional grounding Ray is there to counter the last av's unstoppable mode. Although I did do it when it first came out on a pug and know my fire shield is fully capable of tanking him and one of the other av's in the room as they get freed.
  10. Congratulations, hope that 57,370 influence is put to good use! Heh. . .

    Lots of fun.
I'd like to try it on the highest difficulty, but I don't think a PuG could handle something at that extreme, even if they are all Scrappers. Heroic is fine, since it doesn't really require any coordination, just let loose, do what you want, etc.

What I really want to try is Dr. Khan's TF, but I've only done it once, and I wish I actually took the time to remember what I did and stuff like that so I could try it on an All Scrapper without failing. >.>

  13. That was my itf and you didn't mention my fire shield! Normally these runs are around 30-40 minutes, just last night was bad luck. The thing about how I run them is true to my scrapper roots. Scrapper lock galore and doing whatever whenever. I like to push it to the limit and if I die, try again.

He problem with Rom at first is always the same, his nictus auto hits so it hurts. But after the first knock down it's easy.

    The team make up was:
    fire/shield
    fire/sr
    kat/regen
    kat/sr
    claw/sr
    ma/sr
    spines/invul
    forgot last one >.>

Doing one tonight, but they always take awhile to form as you saw from last night. Maybe I'll see you there.
  14. I have had a similar experience while leveling my fire/shield in zOmg radio missions. I was in a team with a stone tanker whom seemed confident in his abilities as a tanker. So me being me I ran wherever I wanted to whenever I wanted to and they just happened to follow me. Eventually the tanker stopped granite and just literally /e sit behind us and said "Call me when you guys need me." He still followed the team, but he didn't even try to steal aggro from me since I guess it was futile.

Oh and to the OP if I were you, I'd just do scrapper only tfs cause then no one cares for anything, but killing and carnage. Can do 30-40 minute itfs, not as good as speed runs but a lot more fun.
  15. Fire/shield to me has been everything I have ever hoped for in a scrapper, but I have also invested as much influence/time needed for it to do what I want it to do. Although I there is only so much you can do to it.

My case is that I've tried to balance both AoE and single target while maintaining soft-cap, have about 2000 hp with accolades all without fighting or leadership pools, but I do have medicine pool and am always looking to improve it. You'll feel like a tanker(for most things), a blaster with AoE carnage and I like to joke around saying I'm a main healer with aid other with it only one slotted with a recharge io.
  16. Eh, I love my Fire/Shield so much that there is no budget for it. Up to you though, your build would work fine if you're on a budget and all, I don't really like to do low budget builds. >.>
  17. Heres what I did for your build. Its not much higher recharge than your current build, but I did add in Hasten, which would make it a lot higher with it on. It really depends on how much money you're willing to spend, you can even drop the entire Fighting pool for something else, which my current FM/SD build has added Medicine instead of Fighting.

I took out Maneuvers, which it would suck a lot of end over all. I also am not a fan of One with the Shield, you don't have this use this build that I provided you entirely, its merely there to let you figure out what you can do with certain slotting. I'm not exactly a number cruncher, but you'll still probably sucking wind eventually, but not as fast as your other build.

  18. Since there are some new boards I decided to maybe post some more. Normally I lurk, taking in as much info as possible. To my old friends on freedom I'm known as ER, since it's my old main, but you'll probably see me sitting or killing on my Fire/Shield scrapper Rokujou.

Haven't had a toon that has been so efficient in such a wide array of fields, from taking out an entire spawn in an instant, take charge as the role of a tank, and do some pretty crazy single target DPS.

I like to play around in mids looking for more ways to improve things or be more efficient. Oh and I'm known to be a real a-hole in game. I even own a SG named The Jerks.

Looking forward to seeing everyone working together to push scrappers beyond what it's already capable of.

Oh, and I'm really known for doing whatever the h*ll I want, whenever the h*ll I want on my scrapper, whether it be on a 54 boss farm, TF, or some random team. People get mad at me at times when I'm supposed to act as a stand in tank. >.> Damn I love Scrappers.
