Quote:You're welcome! We look forward to having you as a member!I really need to log on my alt I got busy the other night, sorry about that! I have a baby toon who needs to join Omni and level up enough to at least do synapse!
Thanks for leading these!
I have a lot of fun running these task forces and meeting new people. you were a big help on the Eden Trial, I'm only sorry that I kept dying like that. -
Greetings!
For the Month of October, the OMNI Supergroup will be departing from running the Weekly Strike Targets. Instead, we intend to run the Freedom Phalanx Task Forces!
But, you may ask, wwwwwhhhhyyyy?
Frankly, because we don't want to run Terra Volta AGAIN.
Seriously, though, the announced Targets are all high level task forces, and we want to spread the love to lower level heroes.
(We mean love in truly platonic, heroic way.)
Barring any unforeseen complications, here is our schedule
Oct 05: Positron TF, Parts 1 & 2
Oct 12: Synapse TF
Oct 19: Sister Psyche TF
Oct 26: Citadel TF
Nov 02: Manticore TF
Nov 09: Numina TF
Participate in all 6, and OMNI will give out a special prize: Shiny military epaulets!
(No, these are OMNI epaulets, not ones handed out by the Freedom Phalanx. Trust me, would I lie to you?)
All Task Forces will start at 9 PM Eastern time/6 PM Pacific. Generally, they take about 60-90 minutes to run. Send a tell to @CaduKaos if you're interested. (I'll probably be running my Fire/Kin Controller, AuricFyre, for most of these missions.)
As always, you can count on our special bacon-flavored donuts! -
Thanks to everyone who made it out there!
I may forget some names, but I had a good time, even after dying a horrible death (twice!) by the hostage heroes. The Crystal Titan went down so fast, he didn't know what hit him. We finished the Trial in 48 minutes.

I apologize, I should have written the names down and I forgot. I'll do better next time! -
Quote:Ah, I see. Yeah, the Celerity stealth effect lingers for 120 seconds, I think, so that can interfere with escort missions. I usually just wait it out, perfering to have a "super speed stealth" power than multiple ones (but I also often forget to turn it off when combat happens). For me the main time I want more fine grained control over my stealth level is when I'm doing an escort mission. Despite the change that was made to the game a while back to have certain procs like stealth IOs shut off when the toggle they're slotted in is turned off, they do still persist sometimes. This can interfere with the ability of escorts to follow. When it happens I usually end up going AFK or just waiting around for my stealth level to drop again.
Again, whatever playstyle works for you. -
D'oh! I almost forgot about the Bacon, too!
-
Quote:Ah, I see your point. Usually I run a lot of Task Forces, so I always take SS first. That way I can stealth through missions and then Recall or Assemble my team to take out the objective. Different play style, but it can make the difference between a task force taking one hour or two hours to complete. For me it's more that sometimes I want stealth but not super speed. Typically if I take SS it's one of my last throwaway picks at 47 or 49. A stealth IO here becomes useless when exemplared. A stealth IO in sprint can be used at any level.
YMMV, so whatever makes the game fun for you. -
Quote:Just out of curiousity, under what circumstances would you not want stealth in your travel power? I can understand that you don't always NEED it, but when would it be an actual detriment?I prefer to put my stealth IO in sprint so that I can decide whether I want stealth or not with my travel power.
Celerity +Stealth could be slotted in Sprint, Swift, or Super Speed. They each have their pros and cons.
If you put it in Swift, then you ALWAYS have some stealth running. (I tend to put a flight speed enhancement here.)
If you put it in Super Speed, then it automatically stacks with Super Speed's stealth component. One power selection gives you a lot of stealth.
But if you put it in Sprint, then you have to run two or three powers to get the most stealth. Super Speed, Sprint, and possibly another travel power. The endurance costs add up, and for some builds it might be too much. -
I like to take Super Speed and slot in a Celerity: +Stealth invention origin enhancement. The concealment stacks (for 65-foot stealth) and you get the best two dimensional travel power. You can even run Super Speed while flying or teleporting (I don't know about jumping, but I assume it's possible.)
That much stealth will protect you from detection against everything except snipers, giant monsters, and some of the Rikti Drones.
All this for one power selection. Sounds like a sweet deal to me. -
The OMNI SG will be running the Eden Trial on Wednesday, September 28, at 8 PM Eastern. Please join us in defeated the dreaded Crystal Titan! There will be punch and pie.*
*We will punch the Devouring Earth in the face and eat ambrosia pie.
Oh, yeah... contact @CaduKaos if you're interested. -
Quote:I found the First Ward arcs in the 25-29 level of Ouroboros flashbacks, labeled "Arc_Name, First Ward, Part X."I flew around the zone, enjoying the design and admiring the visual details. Unfortunately, I don't have a single character in the right level range to do the content, and it appears that there is no way to access it through Oreoland. I really wish we could do away with level gating...or have Praetorian content added to the flashback system.
I am the sad panda.
So they're all there, or at least were last night. -
Quote:You can also add a tab to your chat window to show your to hit rolls. Per ParagonWiki, adding the "Hit Rolls" system channel will show:ooo thanks for that will sort it out, i understand higher level mobs will reduce my Chance to hit which is why i play -1 my level :P im a wimp, is there any way to see my overall chance to hit % and not just for individual spells?
Quote:Information regarding hit rolls in combat appears in yellow in the Chat Window. Each of these messages indicates the following: - chance to hit the current target with the selected power
- actual number generated by the hit check
- indication that the power was autohit
- indication that the power either hit or missed

Also, join our global channel: OMNI-Net to learn what we're up to. -
When I had to do my Aura Missions, I killed two birds with one stone by also doing the level 30 store missions. Holsten Armitage sends you against the Rikti, while Penny Preston sends you against the Devouring Earth. You still need to find the Freakshow somewhere, but I find Talos to be a safer place to hunt them. Just make sure that you do them in the right order (Holsten's mission when you have the "Kill X Rikti" mission, for instance.

I posted on Newsrama's forum about the Outcasts/Hellion thing... doubt they can make the change, but it's worth pointing out.

Villains need new sitting poses... like the hunched forward in your throne pose, or the female villain laying on her side in a sedctive manner.

i got another Question
Should I 6 slot Teleport with my FF/Dark Defender?
[/ QUOTE ]
My level 28 Emp/Rad Defender has TP 3-slotted with 3 Endurance Reduction SOs. I find that I can port more than 1.5 miles before endurance becomes an issue. (And I don't even have stamina... if I turn Recovery Aura on, endurance isn't even an issue).
Adding more slots will definitely make TP faster and more efficient... but if you need the slots elsewhere, I wouldn't do it.
That said, I do plan to eventually six-slot teleport, because I like the speed... but I probably won't get around to it until my character is in the 40s. -
Just for an update, apparently they have removed the momentum "bug" from Teleport in Issue 2... so if you're falling and you teleport, you won't still be falling when you reappear. All in all, I think this is a good change. The momentum "bug" was a huge part of the frustration people had with Teleport.

While I'd like to see the power modified to be more of a group recall, there's a few uses for it currently:
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd like to see a Group Recall replace Group Teleport. Either that, or the "click on the map and go there" power that everyone wanted when they first heard the word teleport. -
[ QUOTE ]
I like your enhancing strategy. My addition to it: when you hit 27, do not wait for 28 to buy your level 30 SOs so you can combine them. Start buying 30 SOs right away, and keep going until you fill up. If you hit 28 before you fill them all out, great.
[/ QUOTE ]
One other addendum...
If you have multiple enhancements of the same type (like more than one damage) on a power, and you're not replacing all of them with new SOs, you can combine them This frees up a slot for the new SO, and increases the effectiveness of the old one. It's not much, but it can save you a little.
For example, at 27 you have the following on an attack power
Dam25 Dam25 Dam25
Click on it for the combining screen and combine two of the damage enhancements. Then add the SO in the empty slot. You then have
Dam25+ Dam25 Dam30
I know, it's not much, but it's better than just trashing them.
