Agreed. One thing that particularly annoyed me (and still hits me when I retoggle after dying or being exemplared) is hitting the buttons too fast and activating one while the previous is still queued, meaning that one doesn't get turned on. It happened so often at first that I still always put my mez protect toggle (when I have one) in the first slot that I hit, to make sure it's never skipped.

I don't take VS because I find it nearly useless. It has to be summoned too frequently, and at BEST can fire 10 shots of my T1 blast. But I don't want it replaced. I want it fixed, so that it's useful. I know asking for a Gun Drone is too much, because it's a much lower level power, but I want it to be something better than a the Clockwork Connection power Penny Yin gives you.
I think buffing Tesla Cage is a fair place for improvement - look at Ice Blast. It gets the standard T1 and T2 blasts, a strong third ST blast (Bitter Ice Blast), a ST hold roughly equal to Tesla Cage (Freeze Ray) AND a ST hold roughly equal to what I'm suggesting Tesla Cage gets changed to (Bitter Freeze Ray).
So, why not buff BOTH Voltaic Sentinel AND Tesla Cage - two powers that aren't taken that often (in my experience, at least)? But I didn't make this thread about VS - I made it about TC, because I think that this change would be enough to push Electric Blast above the "doesn't suck" threshold. -
You don't even need to download Mids'. You can just get Sentinel and export your build. That sends it to the clipboard. From there, just paste into a forum post. You don't even need to register on the Titan Network to use Sentinel - registration is only needed if you're tracking characters online.

Quote:Son of a ...!i, uh, i think you need to edit your edit. Mostly because i'm not quite sure what a "Bloon" is, but i suspect it's a highly illegal drug. Or something.
Now i would fully support "Drowning In Bloop"....
I was just one typing fail after another yesterday. :/ -
Quote:Have you ever played Willpower?to make up for the increased effectiveness of Willpower abilities against 96% of enemy groups who aren't Carnies.
No, I'm serious. My Willpower Scrappers and Brutes - who are obviously weaker than Willpower tanks - LOVE Carnie missions, because I can cruise through them like they aren't even there. -
There's a couple missions in Night Ward that are available to all. The main story arcs are VIP only, and there's no way to buy a license the way there was for First Ward.
-
Maybe someone was so eager for more of your stories that they hacked your account and paid your sub in an attempt to convince you to play more? :P

They haven't given a date, or even a rough time frame yet. August is a fair bet, IMO.

Grant Cover gives about 13% Defense to all (assuming it's fully slotted) to your teammates. It gives no defense to you. The resistance to recharge and defense debuffs applies to both yourself and your teammates.
Physical Perfection is basically a mini version of Health and Stamina combined into one power.
The defense debuff resistance in GC is very valuable, since defense failure can be devastating to defense based characters. If you aren't having any endurance problems right now, take GC, for both your benefit, and your teammates'.
If you ARE having endurance issues, take Physical Perfection, but try to make room for GC later, or find something you can respec out of to pick up GC - it really is a very beneficial power. -
My main blaster has a 0.78 End/s consumption, and 3.00 End/sec recovery, plus the Performance Shifter proc. I regain more End per second than you do, and in prolonged fights, I can and do flatline myself.
I have a perma-hasten build though, so I have a Hasten crash every 2 minutes, and am constantly throwing my strongest (and therefore most costly) attacks. -
The arrow draw animation is over the shoulder, so it's unlikely we'll get a hip quiver.
-
The snipe can only be fired instantly if your ToHit is 22% or higher. That's impossible to maintain solo for any Blaster except /Devices, which means the snipe can't be worked into the attack chain for anything other than /Devices (for Blasters).
On top of that, the Snipe's endurance cost isn't changing, so firing the Snipe frequently will create endurance issues for all but the most optimized builds.
And every blast set (except those without Snipes) will be getting the same benefit added, so Electric will still be left behind. -
Aim and Build up have a 90s recharge. The upcoming proc changes make procs calculate their chance based on their Procs Per Minute (PPM) value. PPM is calculated based on the slotted recharge of the power. Recharge from set bonuses, buffs, etc do not alter the PPM calculation.
If you slot 66% Recharge Reduction (Two SOs) in one of these powers, the recharge will be about 56 seconds. If the proc gets rated at 1 PPM - which people are currently assuming will be the lowest possible value - that recharge time will give it a proc rate of about 90%, which is the cap - the changes will prevent procs from being able to attain a 100% proc chance.
That means that the proc will fire almost every time you use Aim or Build Up, which is why people say that it will be good in one or the other. The proc can be slotted in either and will be excellent in both (pending special cases, like the KB>KD proc in certain powers).
People are probably saying Aim because Aim alone is enough to give enough ToHit to make snipes fire instantly with the upcoming Snipe changes - but Aim doesn't give as good of a +Damage bonus as Build Up does. By putting the proc in Aim, you can get the +ToHit for insta-snipe and the damage bonus of Aim and Build Up combined all in one power, instead of using Aim, wasting almost a quarter of its duration on Build Up, then using the Snipe. -
One of the biggest complaints about Electric Blast is that it has no third single target blast. Most of the proposed fixes involve removing Voltaic Sentinel or Zapp to make room for one, or other similar cottage rule breaking ideas.
Instead of trying to make drastic changes, why not just tweak one of the existing powers?
Boost the damage on Tesla Cage, to be similar to other third blasts.
Of course, things like endurance and recharge would likely have to be adjusted to keep it balanced, but since the Powers guys are working on blast sets right now, it's the perfect time to get an extra adjustment thrown in. -
If I understand correctly, the proc adds a negative enhancement to the Knockback. So in your example, the KB would be enhanced both up and down, with the down being so massive as to override the up.
Procs are flagged to always ignore enhancements and buffs, so slotting both this proc and a Chance for KB proc in the same power would NOT alter the effect of the Chance for KB. -
Quote:AM = Approaching MiddayAm I correct in interpreting this:
Quote:The 2012 Summer Blockbuster Event is scheduled to run from 10:30 a.m. PDT, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 to 11:59 p.m. PDT, Monday, July 30, 2012.
PM = Past Midday
11:59PM is night.
I suspect that they don't use 12am (midnight) because many people get confused which 12 o'clock is noon and which is midnight.
Quote:Another question -- I tried an experiment. A character who had just run the event ran it again, but quit without selecting a reward. If I log back into the character tonight (before the event expires) and check, will the reward screen still be available, and might I be able to select an Overwhelming Force enhancement, now that the 20-hour cooldown has expired? Or did I "waste" the reward screen by not picking before I logged out (in which case I'm out the 8 reward merits, no big deal)? -
Quote:No to the LotG. That isn't a proc, and it functions like a set bonus. The same is true for any other "always on" special bonus from an enhancement.Really?
Does that work with LOTG: Rech and things like Miracle Uniques?
Yes to the Miracle. Anything that takes effect when the power is used functions like a proc, and will trigger any time the power is activated, even if exemplared well below the level of the enhancement. That's why so many people recommend slotting Miracle and Numina uniques in Health - since Health unlocks at level 2, you can never exemplar too low level to keep it. -

Quote:Unfortunately, not everything in there helps. For example:In general, trials, task/strike forces, and other group content are referred to by their initials. So you can check your LFG tab to see if anything there matches before you get too confused.
ITF = Imperius Task Force, but the proper name for that is "Time's Arrow", and it is listed under LFG as "Time's Arrow [Imperious]"
While others, like Lady Grey Task Force (LGTF) and Lord Recluse Strike Force (LRSF) are actually the names of the tasks.
And then there's the STF (Statesman's Task Force), which is no longer given out by Statesman, but rather his granddaughter, Ms. Liberty. I've often seen it called the MLTF since the change - but LFG still lists it as "Statesman Task Force".
Just keep playing the game, and if you see someone using a term you don't know, ask. Sometimes, nobody will answer. Rarely (if ever) will anyone mock you for not knowing. And as you play longer, you'll learn more and more of the terms, until you can throw them out in conversations with abandon.
Until someone asks you to meet them in SC. :P -
Hm, guess that list is a bit out of date.
DFB = Death From Below
DIB = Drowning In Blood
Both are low-level trials formed through the TUT, accessed via the LFG menu on your chat box. -
The wiki has a pretty long list of commonly used game terms, and what they mean.

Quote:Ah, see that's what I was unsure about. I had been told that if the power had KD or KB, the proc would make it ALWAYS KD, and the person who told me that made it sound as if a X% chance would be turned into a 100% chance. So if you put the KB>KD proc into a power with a 40% chance of KB, every time that 40% chance triggers, the KB will be reduced to the point the enemies are knocked down instead of back.
Good to know that's not how it works BEFORE I purchase the rather expensive proc.
Thanks.
Quote:Clarification: KB and KD are the very same thing, but knockdown happens when the power of the KB is less that 1.0 mag KB, but higher than 0.0 mag KB. Basically anything with higher than 1.0 mag KB will be strong enough to MOVE the target while triggering the 'knocked over' effect. Anything between .99 and 0.0 will be strong enough to trigger the 'knocked over' effect, but not strong enough to move their location. -
If a power has a non-100% Chance to Knockdown, and you slot the Overwhelming Force proc in it, does it get the proc's Chance to Knockdown (for two chances to KD per use, and a chance to KB if both fire at once), or does it convert to a guaranteed Knockdown?
EDIT: Specifically, Eye of the Storm has a 40% Chance to KD normally. By slotting the proc, can I make it 100%? -
Quote:Just a quick thought...the main toggles you have listed as smash/lethal/melee def (for example). Not finding fault with your ideas, but all the current Def sets are either typed, or positional, not both. Unless it was your idea to HAVE both..in which case, fair enough.Quote:The current Forcefield bubble buffs have them all, so I didn't want to break continuity.
Castle looked over the powers, and decided to leave all self buffs as just one (with a few exceptions, like [Weave] or [Combat Jumping]), and converted all ally buffs to both, using the same pairing that was used on IO defense bonuses (though he didn't apply the halving of bonuses to the secondary defense type, the way it was done for IOs).
If this set were to be done, the self buffs would be one or the other - probably Positional, to match the old Force Field buffs. And that would make this so close to Super Reflexes, Shield Defense and Ninjitsu that one wonders if it would really be necessary. -
1. /leaveteam
If you're solo, it will make you quit the team you're on, abandoning the current mission.
2. Supergroup Registrars don't show up on the map. I wouldn't object to them being added. As a long-time player, I know where to go to find them, but for newbies, I'm not sure any hint is ever given.
