So... for something like my Stone Melee/Elec Armor Brute, reactive radial would be a good way to go?

Pa Kent was the one who found the Gold Kryptonite. Even if evil Clark found a cure for Green K... Pa could just take his powers away with the Gold K. I wonder if they'll just leave this part of the story as-is, or elaborate more on it in the future. They seem to have left plenty of information seedlings for another episodes worth... but I kind hope they just leave it be... and let us use our imaginations on it. They still have way too much story to go through and the end is too close.

Quote:I look forward to it as well.As to the discussion I wouldn't exactly call it being stubborn, I was enjoying having a lively discussion that hadn't devolved into name calling and insults that we see so often on the forums. In past discussions about this show some people have taken pointing out the shows flaws as personal attacks.
Ah well. Looking forward to the next conversation about the soon to be cancelled SGU.
These last few years I've been increasingly focused on facts and objective thinking. I believe the increasing idiocy in politics has really made me wake up and take notice of my own flaws. Had this been 10 years ago I would have called you a d-bag and ended it there. lol. -
Quote:Amen to that.To be honest, Cassidy Freeman would look hot in a potato sack, so picking the right dress wasn't hard.
I think the part where Clark convinces evil Clark to try to be good was a little odd... but not entirely out of the question.
Evil Clark already had his back against a wall now that everyone on his world can kill him... That keeps him from doing the bad stuff. All they needed was that little seed of 'Well gee, I guess I need to behave myself'.. Which... if you think about it... is pretty much the only thing that keeps a lot of people from being chaotic, power hungry morons.
I think they also tried to throw in a little 'inherent good' into Evil Clark in order to show that Clark is naturally a good person and not just good because his papa told him to be that way... And I believe this will be built up in his upcoming "battle" with Smokey Joe (Darksied). -
Seems like it. I don't remember that part.
Quote:You are assuming that just because the rescue party didn't realize they were being stalked by mulitiple creatures working together that the creatures weren't together until that one scene.
Quote:But we know they weren't from the discussion between Greer and the Lucian guy. The parent was guarding the lair while the babies stalked and killed the rescue party. That requires teamwork and communication.
Eh, I give. I could argue semantics and keep this little discussion going for a while... but I'm getting tired of it. lol. Congratulations, you are clearly the more stubborn of the 2 of us. =) -
Quote:This is close to the subject, but you're skewing it. You assumed the creatures communicated with each other when we didn't see it happen at all. It wasn't even implied. That creatures that hunt in packs can communicate with each other and not be intelligent? Again that's another fact.
Did they even say they hunted in packs? The cave creature was alone when it attacked the group and brought back the 2 captives. It protected it's cave alone. It went inside the cave to eat alone. The only time I can remember more than one creature being in the same area was right after the (human) hunting party killed one of the beasts. More popped up, but that doesn't mean they were in a pack. You don't assume 2 hawks are hunting together when they go after the same prey. They could have been competing against each other... We didn't any kind of cooperation or teamwork on the part of the animals, from what I can tell. -
You stated that Star's assumption made their argument invalid and then... almost immediately afterward... embraced an assumption of your own in order to prove your point. That is hypocritical, no? Or am I thinking of a different word?
-

Dumb luck? The others were scared away by the C4 explosion? They were busy looking for the Lucian Alliance dude because he managed to 'lose them'? A flaw in the writing?
-
Quote:Hhmmm.... I believe my thinking was off. For some reason I was thinking an assumptions only dealt in absolutes... and that... because star use the word 'could'... that it wasn't an assumption at all. That discussion isn't about possibilities and absolutes it was about imposing human values on alien creatures. The applications/uses of fire isn't a human value.
Quote:In our discussion I went with the generic term "tool" because being an alien it might not initially recognize a gun as a weapon until it was used. I would argue that the creature at the cave may have learned about what guns can do from the group that was attacking the rescuers. They obviously had some form of communication skills because the attacks on the rescuers stopped after the one in the cave determined the humans were intelligent. -
I just love it when people confuse possibilities with absolutes.
What I was trying to get across is that, in a universe filled with all kinds of alien life forms who could have any combination of technology and intelligence, the idea that a beast-like being recognizing fire as a sign of intelligence (and not guns or 'tools') is entirely possible because it might not recognize a gun as a 'tool'. Especially when considering the creature from the cave never left the area (from what I can tell) and never saw any action outside of the initial attack on Grier and the group. If it never saw a gun being fired, it wouldn't even know what it was or what it was for. For all it knew... it was just some random object the human was carrying and could not be used as proof of intelligent life. That would be an assumption on the aliens part. Half of what makes a tool what it is... is the act of use. -
Quote:I actually thought it was rather interesting. The creatures are alien, after all... and there doesn't seem to be any other form of intelligence. So they wouldn't know what a gun was... or what clothing was... and it doesn't know English, so the people talking would have seemed like random noises to them. The only reason it would even know a gun was dangerous was if it saw one fired....Agree on the stupidity of the ending. Creatures don't recognize the ability to use weapons, the ability for abstract thought (forming of strategies), wearing of artificial coverings, or the ability to communicate as signs of intelligence. But making fire is absolute proof.
I don't think it's outside the realm of believability that these things, at the very least, could have about the intelligence of a somewhat advanced cavemen. And if they've encountered fire before... and recognized the fact that a thinking being would know how to create such a thing... Sure, why not? It might not be absolute proof, but it's enough to make it think twice before eating it... and that was enough to help them escape. -
I liked Vivian better when she was struggling with her evilness. Was the whole spiel about how she was working to keep her company legit just a rouse to free her papa and get the weapon, then?
I do like Alexei, though.... His lust for power mixed with his super-strong family sentiment really makes an interesting character. It's almost like he's a recovering addict, now.
Councilor: "Hello everyone and welcome to Villains Anonymous. Oh, I see we have a new guest. Why don't you stand up and introduce yourself to the group?"
Alexei: "My name is Alexei Volkov and I'm a villain."
*unenthusiastic groans* "Hi Alexei..." -
I have all but one for my Bane. I also intend to get some different trees for my Crab build, which should focus more on tanking (he even has a taunt).
For my Bane Build, I went with:
-Alpha: Muscle. Damage, pure and simple.
-Judgement: Void. That -dmg is pretty killer. And it's not a proc, either.
-Interface: The -ToHit, whatever it's called. I have 100% proc right now and plan to get the 50% -regen proc tier 4. I like to think it helps teams dealing with AVs, but I'd love to try it out some AVs solo as well.
-Lore: I got the Seers. Again, hoping they'll help on AV battles. Pretty sure I'll be going for the non-support tree. They have some good crowd control and I fully intend to use Destiny for some self preservation (either the heal or Barrier, not sure which).
As for my Crab build, he's going all out self preservation. I want him to be as sturdy as a good tank and these incarnates can help that tremendously. So I'm thinking something like:
-Alpha: Cardiac for the extra res.
-Judgement: I'm thinking Cryonic for the recharge debuff and slow. If it's not very significant, I may just got Pyro with extra damage.
-Interface: Definitely +def/+res or Heal with +regen.
-Lore: I hear the Clockwork have the best support, so I'll probably go with them. -
Personally, this is why I think (one of) the movies should introduce a little magic. It might be hard to have Mxyzptlk without making it ultra silly... But at the very least... show Superman does have another weakness.
-
It feels like Zod has been done to death... Especially with his season long stint on Smallvile (misspelled on purpose).
I can tolerate it so long as they do another movie with someone else. Part of me would like to see Superman deal with a lesser villain while Mxyzptlk messes with him. -
I was looking into them for my Bane. I'm thinking of going with the Seers because of their holds... but because of their lack of good support... I may go with the other tree.
From what I can tell, the Warwork seem to have the best support overall. They have a good AoE defense bubble with a decent heal... I think. My memory sucks. -
Just because they already filmed all the episodes... doesn't mean they couldn't drum up an alternative 'final episode' to bring them back home. I mean... come on. They essentially have aliens that are the equivalent to Star Trek's Q. All they have to do have them show up and blink everyone back to earth, give Ginn and Doctor Chick their bodies back and all is well.
Is it the best ending? No. But it is an ending. -
I see. That's good to know. My Bane was softcapped too and he was getting crushed on a regular basis. Looks like I'm going to have to add some +defense to my Incarnate arsenal.
-
Looks pretty good. With the story all spelled out in the trailer... I guess the only really compelling parts to it would be seeing these guys in their non-fighting life styles and the build up to their fight against each other.

Ah Sealab, how I miss thee.
Anyway, Archer is a pretty great show. I gotta say, Pam is gradually becoming my favorite character on the show. Especially when she went all Fight Klub on those kidnappers. lol.
"Who taught you to punch, your husband?" -
Really enjoyed the last few episodes. Like so many other great shows in the past, they seem to have waited to long to introduce the good stuff and now they're getting canceled. Sad panda is sad, but Ginn will always be super hot.

This looks a lot better than I thought it would. Hopefully the green screen scenes will get a little more work (I think it's the lightning more than anything else that throws it off), but it still looks pretty awesome so far. Can't wait!
