Going Rogue 2 which is what they are supposedly working on now, unless GR2 is just code for CoH2.

I could have sworn the servers are in Mountain View. The job I linked to is for Mountain View.

As much as the idea of working for CoH appeals to me on a theoretical level, I don't think I want turn my happytime into worktime.
  2. There's a few interesting job openings here for a "Next-Gen MMO"/"exciting new project".

You heard it here first... City of Heroes 2 to launch next year, and CoH goes free-to-play with GR2.

What better for the health of the game? A childish community or no community?

It depends. People are broadcasting MA farms right now on Freedom.

  7. Would it be stupid to maybe put up a thread where people could post Arc #'s and disuses whether they are acceptable to play or not?

The exploit abusers tried to hide amongst the legitimate farming population last year and scare them into thinking the devs hated farming. The farmers weren't stupid enough to fall for it then and they aren't falling for it now.
May I ask what the difference is between legitimate farming and an exploit? I don't read the forums much, so I'm not exactly sure if we're talking about the same thing. I'm talking about AE missions that are made to just kill enemies, make $$$, and don't offer any storyline like the "traditional" missions in the game.

    You just blew my mind.

Would there be any benefits to the game by allowing farming to happen in a controlled manner once and a while?

Interesting, thanks for the correction! The "participating-God" feature, and the drag-and-drop map-building NEED to be integrated into AE. I'd spend my money on CoX forever if those features were available.

    *in a magical, hushed voice*

But what if you could have both?

But seriously, the Costume Creator and Mission Architect are amazing fun, and more than enough to counteract the the detested 3-Map Cycle, for now. In fact, the MA is what's going to keep this game around for a long, long time; it was stroke of genius.

However, Going Rouge was a bit disappointment in terms of quantity of new mission maps (and costumes and emotes). Hopefully the new GR maps (where logical and appropriate), and the new mission innovations (like the more extensive use of indoor-outdoor missions) will carry over to the core games soon. Perhaps the new free issues should focus on new maps.

What I'm really looking forward to, is being able to design my own maps in AE--with every design item in the entire game available for me to use--and the use of instanced plots of the outdoor zones. The game would be unstoppable, a virtual engine of comic book adventures and universes.

    Architect II anyone?
  16. The experience of going from the new and shiny Pratoria, right into the same (admittedly, re-skinned) office map in Going Rogue, almost made me rage-quit. I'm still not over it.
  17. You have fantastic taste in music.. you'd love the music on our COHRP.com Tumblr (http://cohrp.tumblr.com)

    Suggestions!

If you like dance-pop like Cut/Copy or Empire of the Sun (What's up with the Australians lately?)...

Try: Midnight Juggernauts, Metronomy, Neon Indian, Miike Snow, The Presets, Van She, Klaxons, We Have Band, Datarock, Zoot Woman, and Dragonette

If you like dream-pop like The Radio Dept...

Try: Toro y Moi, Washed Out, Grand National, The Honeydrips, Wave Machines, Teflon Tel Aviv, and Hurts

If you like guitary-pop like The Yeah Yeah Yeahs...

Try: The Gossip, We Are Wolves, Best Coast, the XX, The Big Pink, The Horrors, Imperial Teen, Fang Island, and ****** Up

If you love disco-dance like the Junior Boys....

Try: The Chromatics, Prins Thomas, Cosmo Vitelli, Glass Candy, and The Juan Maclean

Hope some of those work out for you!

Basically, get those bunched panties unbunched.
    This is not constructive.

And this is antagonistic. People are justifiably upset. Character creation is a cornerstone of game for me, and the expectation that our paid-for, and earned free-slots be available for the Going Rogue launch day is not an outlandish expectation, much less a symptom of a "fast food" society. My family and friends play on Virtue, and we have little interest in creating toons in another community. But most importantly, the devs are obviously aware of the seriousness of this issue, so there is no need to shame people for being upset. I know you're joking, but don't add salt to the wounds.

Understood. They need to update that icon interface someday and remove that option. The external file option gives me an "invalid url". I PMed The Ocho. Thanks for your help!

You can try Avatea or TheOcho, but I doubt you'll get anything other than "sorry, we're not going to allow uploading to the forums".
I'm sorry if I'm being obtuse but... I'm just trying to load an icon for the Group. Is there a seperate policy for uploading a personal icon and a group icon? I guess you've already said that they're broken, but I thought I'd at least inquire. Social Groups are great function for SGs that need a quick forum solution. Again, thanks for the info.

Certainly seems that way. I'm hoping to change that, but I need the icons to be working first. Any idea who I would PM for official info on it?
