funny thing is, clicking the powers actually DOES work.

i like to just PL toons up to around 30-35ish then start buying cheap set enhancements. not really worrying about what the bonuses are. where that level sets aren't available or are too expensive, fill in with generics. then ITFs and more PLing get me the rest of the way to 50 and I fill in the new slots as I go sometimes replacing old sets sometimes not. at 50, i either leave it as is which generally functional and with some reasonable bonuses or plan a full build and do a full respec at which point 10 IOs make it back onto the market.

if there are any in the last 5 that have sold for 2 billion, i offer them off market first and if there are no takers, i'll just list them after a day or two and get my 1.8 bil or whatever it is after WW/BM fees.

the best advice I can offer is ask the devs to not make pve and pvp behave so differently. that is the biggest barrier to new pvpers i can see. a guy runs into RV on his shiny new lvl 50 tank that hasn't been mezzed in 40 levels or so and gets immediately stunned... hmm what? or a blaster has been killing bosses with bitter ice blast for 30 levels and then gets there and finds out it does next to nothing and isn't any better than his t1 and t2 blasts. everything is different in pvp zones... how is that possibly bringing pvp to the masses. I knew what the changes were and I still have trouble remembering what is going on. this doesn't even touch on diminishing returns. new player has been monitoring his stats and walks into a pvp zone and is suddenly weaker... my that sounds fun doesn't it? also, travel suppression. not only are you slowed when you attack but when you get attacked, pop an inspiration, get debuffed. it his absolutely horrid and I can't imagine why a new player would want to try and relearn a totally different game.

The arena is almost to a point where you can recreate the conditions from before the gutting of pvp but it is not there yet.

i know you are doing your best with what you have to work with and I appreciate that. I hope you have more success in the future. WB was pretty fun but it was fun relative to my other post i13 experience. it was no where near as fun as it used to be but that isn't the pvpec's fault.

people seem to be forgetting the mitgating factors of shield charge that FSC lacks... namely, knockdown on anything that lived and hitting more targets thus leaving fewer people to hit on you. like i said, more dps doesn't mean better it just means more dps. personally, i'd rather wipe out a whole mob with SC and then fireball then move on than sit there and do multiple FSCs because it is better DPS.

i was working on a shield/ss build once and couldn't figure out why i was having to make so many sacrafices to soft cap... deflection was off... :/

i think we should stop worrying about what sets would be good or bad and just let the players make a gimp set if they want. if it is ranged blast, give it to everyone with ranged blasts. if it is melee or an armor set, give it to everyone with melee and an armor set. just because you can't see it fit thematically doesn't mean someone who is more creative than you can't make it and enjoy it. stop pushing your RP on me and let me have my ss/stone stalker.

while that is true, it was more enjoyable than expected and if people are going to be there regularly, i may actually fix my build. (which I respecced in the hosp and was fighting with one unslotted blast because lolenergypunch)

yeah it wasn't too bad. that sonic/em psy/em team was wreckin' me though.
