LOL. Funny I had forgotten about this but just prior to this "event" we had about 10 or so people in Warburg having an FFA. The most PVP action I've seen on Liberty in a long time.

LB should be used for things like this. I don't recall seeing any mention of it outside of this forum post.

i think warburg would have been more fun without the travel suppression

It was still fun. PW got a pancea health. I had about 50 rep by the end of it. I was pleansantly surprised we had about 10 folks in there, most of which stayed as long as I did (maybe 2 hours or so).

yeah it wasn't too bad. that sonic/em psy/em team was wreckin' me though.

while that is true, it was more enjoyable than expected and if people are going to be there regularly, i may actually fix my build. (which I respecced in the hosp and was fighting with one unslotted blast because lolenergypunch)

Yeah I doubt it'll be a regular thing but I'm up for it. It does become a bit like pulling teeth though.

I was on my fire/regen and never took MOG at 38.

you were tough to kill. i got really close a couple of times only to see your big *** heal. and by then you and two blasters were usually on me.

it was in the LB and PvP of Liberty MotD, as well as broadcasted in both channels 10 minutes prior to and up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, as well as The Crimson Order global channel, coalition channel, and coalition channel of our coalitions. :/ it should have been hard to miss. Of what channels, other than LB, are you guys a member?

Oh I'm only part of LB and I didn't recall seeing it in the MOTD, it might have been there, it's something I sometimes skip over. But I'm pretty sure I was online up until 50 minutes before the event so I might have missed it.

It's a shame more people didn't join. Maybe we need to poke people in LB a day ahead of the event or so.

I think everyone in Warburg had fun and we need to do more of it.

I did see the notice, but to be honest running around on Lvl 5 martial arts toons isn't my idea of fun.. This would have been a miniature fightclub with 2 attacks. Then again to each their own, some people like that.

I understand the veteran PvP'rs don't enjoy lowbie fightclubs and, frankly, I had expected that. In theory, the reason for doing a low level match was to draw out some of the PvE'rs and to introduce them to PvP at a "novice" level where we could reduce the frustration from being rolled over by the uber-builds. I was hoping to use this event as an introduction to PvP and to gradually increase the level at which the events take place and build up to the high level, fast paced, more skilled matches.

My other hope was that, by interesting the typical PvE crowd, we could then branch out into zone events like what happened in Warburg and take that action into the PvP zones that don't see much activity like Bloody Bay and Siren's Call. I was hoping that starting low and working our way would build the community following from the ground up, so to speak.

Like I said, this works in theory. The practical application was less than stunning. With that in mind, I'll be refocusing my strategy to get bigger crowds into the zones and arenas. I look forward to any input you guys can provide and hope to offer you some better events soon.

thanks,
Infernal

the best advice I can offer is ask the devs to not make pve and pvp behave so differently. that is the biggest barrier to new pvpers i can see. a guy runs into RV on his shiny new lvl 50 tank that hasn't been mezzed in 40 levels or so and gets immediately stunned... hmm what? or a blaster has been killing bosses with bitter ice blast for 30 levels and then gets there and finds out it does next to nothing and isn't any better than his t1 and t2 blasts. everything is different in pvp zones... how is that possibly bringing pvp to the masses. I knew what the changes were and I still have trouble remembering what is going on. this doesn't even touch on diminishing returns. new player has been monitoring his stats and walks into a pvp zone and is suddenly weaker... my that sounds fun doesn't it? also, travel suppression. not only are you slowed when you attack but when you get attacked, pop an inspiration, get debuffed. it his absolutely horrid and I can't imagine why a new player would want to try and relearn a totally different game.

The arena is almost to a point where you can recreate the conditions from before the gutting of pvp but it is not there yet.

i know you are doing your best with what you have to work with and I appreciate that. I hope you have more success in the future. WB was pretty fun but it was fun relative to my other post i13 experience. it was no where near as fun as it used to be but that isn't the pvpec's fault.

sorry for the rant.

Yea, I hate what they did to PVP, my brute is worthless in PVP now (not saying she was awesome to begin with but she stood a chance), now I get clobbered by blasters imitating jumping beans.

Don't forget about the massive crutch that are Global resists and the uselessness of bringing insps/debuffs/buffs.
