  1. Here's a simple idea...put the AE buildings in the pvp zones only. Then everyone with anger management issues about farming, newbies, etc..can just beat the snot out them when they leave the AE buildings.

And well the devs want people to try PvP...
  2. I figured it out this way..."hey that buttons glowing and making noise. What happens if I push it? Awesome!" Discovery is 1/2 the fun.
  3. You know I've worked for a few companies that thought "free" was a great business model. They are all closed now. Even if the devs never added another costume set to the game COX still has more customizable costume choices than any other mmo out there. It's the one reason I don't like playing other mmo's.

At the end of the day our friends at NC soft are running a business. There are bills, salaries, and countless other expenses to pay. And oh yah they have to show a profit to stay in business. This means they will sometimes charge for extra things in the game. That's how it works folks, welcome to capitalism. $9.99 and its still the cheapest bit of entertainment out there. A heck of a lot cheaper then a night at the movies.

.....this idea that for some reason we have to be holding the hand of all the new dom players is getting irksome.

No one held our hands, no one held my hand 5 years ago, its trial and error. And how i choose to play my dom isnt the only way to play it. When i choose to click domination isnt the only time it should be done. Its when i do it. And if they want to ask me why ill tell them, but im not going to go around spreading the gospel of domination to other players. I have always found the weakest players are those that do what they do only because they have been told to do it that way.

The strongest players are the ones that gain that experience on their own, through their own playing and experiences.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Amen I agree as well. People will play the AT how they feel . I still remember trying to convince a Mind/Psi dom that going into melee to use Drain Psyche and PSW was a good idea. It didn't work, his response to me was that I should stay out of melee and spam Psi Dart and aid other..which is what he did.

In the end players are going to do what they want. The good ones will search google and the forums to find the info they need to play the AT effectively. And even though the guides are old most of the information is still good.
  5. Oh lord not this again. Doms and Controllers don't play similarly at all. I'd draw a Dom and Blaster comparison (even before the AT revamp) over a Dom Controller one any day.

    4 MM team

    Bot/Traps, Thugs/FF, Fire/Dark, Plant/Psy

Lol Plant/Psy/Mu the MM/Corruptor/Dom hybrid nobody knows about .

Honestly though and combo of 4 mms is going to slaughter the game. I've done it..good times.

    8 MMs on a team?

I used to run with a regular 4 man MM team back in the day. I think most of the game you'll find very easy. On relentless, we squashed everything in our path.

If that team wants a challenge I would suggest running custom made AE mish's with it. You could set up a series of challenges on the larger Open Aired maps with the nastiest bosses and mobs you can think up...might be fun. Hmm maybe I'll do that...hmmm.

No but it holds them in place and prevents the scatter and wandering around from disorient.

I'm working on getting Strike Breaker as we speak although it's with the Viscountess de Lune. I'd it on both my Brimstone Clubbers as it's needed for Megalomaniac Accolade.

I can play either the Viscountess (lvl 22) or the Baron von Ruwen (lvl 23) for the SF. I'll most likely go with Baron as his DEF debuffs will make short work of Sky Raider FF.

I recommend everyone planning to do the SF(s) grab either or both temp stealth/invis powers from Bloody Bay and Sirens Call patrol missions.

For anyone who hasn't run the Silver Mantis SF before, here's a link to the wiki entry for it.

Hmm so I have my lvl 22 Mind/Thorns and my Lvl 22 Grav/Psi. My inclination is to go with the mind/thorns as I believe he has bit more AoE control potential. Ugh..decisions, decisions.
  10. Plant is such a strong primary, everything works with it. /energy or /icey gives you access to powerboost. Plant because of all it's secondary effects and Seeds of Confusion benefits quite nicely from Power Boost.

/Fire and /Thorns work very, very well with plant. Thorns -def is a nice boost. And fire, well fire is just pure damage all the time.

/Psi plus plant makes for a very good teaming dom. You debuff defense, regen, and recovery. Plus you have a +regen buff for your team-mates. Honestly you can't build a bad plant dom.
  11. Gravity is a great set if you want to beef up your damage assault sets. Since Gravs heavy AoE controls don't come unitl later, you have plenty of slots to use for your damage dealing secondary.

Personally, I'd vote for grav with /energy, /electric or /thorns. Also nothing like lift, hold, lifting an annoying boss solo. And wormhole is also a great power if you couple it with you AoE immobilize. I would say if you're new to doms avoid Grav/Psi. It's blooms very late even with the recent buffs.

    Hope this was helpful information.
  12. I think I figure it out. She only buffs "perception radius" and "Confuse Resistance" so I was partially incorrect. However I don't see her buffing accuracy at all? Wondering if its bugged or WAI.

I'd love it if she got the Widow Version of mind link..that would be the hawtness..lol.

I want Arachnos minions. Or something along those lines.

Tier 1: Wolf Spider with its standard single pistol. Equip would give it dual with a downgraded Empty Clips from the thugs MM primary. Upgrade would turn them into Wolf Spider Tac Ops. With their mace blast and poison -def and -recharge attack.

Tier 2: Fortunata Seer's with mental blast, psionic lance. Equip would give them Subdue, and their version of tactics. Mind link I believe. Upgrade would make them Fortunata Mistresses. Changing costume while giving Psychic Scream, and Will Domination, their single target sleep.

Tier 3: Bane Spider Executioner with Bash, Pulverize, Crowd Control. Equip would give their Holds and Immobilize, Web Gernade and Cacoon. Upgrade would give their two blasts and Whirling Mace.

I'd put some slow recharges for the Bane Spider and damage would be downed for the Fortunata on its psi attacks. But otherwise I would see it as a really fun primary for Master Minds.

Keep in mind that this is only the pets. Not the attacks that go with it. No idea what those would be.
    Thoughts?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would be a great "unlockable" set. I've always wished the devs would toss in a couple of "Unlockable" MM sets using villains in-game villain groups. So I guess that's my suggestion.
  14. Hmm...so I have Soul Master on my 50 Mind Energy. I decided to pick the pet as well. So far I <3 the seer. She's a great ranged damage dealer and really helps out in tough fights.

My question, her powers description claims she has "Mind Link". Now I know this isn't the same "Mind Link" that players get. However the seer version is supposed to give the following buffs: +Accuracy, +Perception. Resist: Confuse.

I never once have seen this icon come up or show up in my buff stats. Has anyone else seen her use it? Or is the power description listed for her incorrect?
  15. I don't use Mids, for some reason my PC hates it. And I'm too lazy to find out why.

I will say that I'm a fire/psi and not a mind/psi so fitting in PsyScream is a bit easier. Also, I think you get more aoe control mileage out of mass confusion and the AoE fear than TD. Especially the fear since it recharges very quickly.
  16. Well having many, many years experience as a forum moderator (I used to make my living at it..) there may be more going on than "censorship" per se'.

It could be anything from a software glitch (reply posts that are married to the original get deleted when it does). Or a new staff member who is a bit too "gung-ho". I do miss Lighthouse. I really liked how he often commented on and "quelled" bad situations before they got out of hand.
  17. I still say right now, thorns feel like the "sleeper set" of the season. It really does seem to be doing AWESOME damage now. So good I'm afraid of future nerfage. (heck all these changes have me afraid of future nefs).

However, I will admit, I suck at numbers. I only passed statistics in college on a wing and a prayer. Any numbers person mind taking a look at Thorns in comparison to other sets damage wise???

    Doms!

Head over to PvP. It's literally a whole new world for PvP doms since the guides were published. Most of the PvP info in them won't be of much help. There seems to be some lively debate and suggestions in the PVP forums about doms thought. Should be helpful.
  19. Lord guys give a break....

And yes it was the added damage from Psychic Scream was VERY noticeable. PSW was about the same even with insane buffs, but PsyScream was helping a lot. I've always used PsyScream btw, even before the dom changes. I just found it a very efficient filler cone-attack, its a bit more than that now.

    HTTT Reunion?

I think Goth/Old English suits the group we've been running just fine!!!

And oooh DC count me in for the SF on Thurs. I'll be there. I may be retiring Lady Cromwell for my Strawman guy. The more I play Lady C, the more I see her as a dark themed dom...and then I get frustrated..lol. I'll hold that name until that's a reality someday.
  21. Just for giggles I finally took my Fire/Psi on a ITF run. The team was mostly 50's fighting 52's. All I can say is Psi dom being buffed by two kins, a sonic, and an emp is crazy powerful. I just let the tanks herd em up, than I jumped in with Flashfire, Drain Psyche and PSW. A follow up with Psychic Scream and bam.

Also seeing the insane buffs I was getting off drain psyche and soul drain..wow. Solo Psi isn't as powerful as it was (post PSW). But teamed...teamed psi feels like it's doing quite a bit more damage. Also we had an issue where we accidentally killed Romulus too far from his fuzzy kheldian buddies. So he didn't rez and the fuzzballs were proving too hard to kill. My psi distance attacks, especially the snipe, proved extremely useful. Taking out the fuzballs at range was a lot easier than before. I think teamed is where you'll see Psi start to shine now.

A change that reduces the power of a very small minority and increases the power of a very large majority is generally considered a good change. I think it is you, Ditsy, who does not get it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

/Electric doms were a small minority? Overall the changes did what Castle set out to do. Dom's have been brought into a fair equilibrium. High End performers were brought down a notch (or two) and low performers (lol energy) were brought up. So all the sets perform about as equally well. I don't begrudge electric and psi dom wincing though..we had a good thing going . The only odball I can't figure out is Ice. I think /Icey Assault really needs a review. The end cost seems very high for the damage its putting out. Hopefully that's something the team is looking into.

    ???/Elec

If you want a Scrappery ST feel, then Mind or Gravity mesh nicely with electric. Gravity's nice because it has two or three powers that are considered skippable. Freeing you up to slot up your Secondary. Very good if you're a soloist.

Earth/Electric (or plant/electric) is very solid all the way 'round. You have excellent control and damage, both are very team friendly build.
  24. If you solo a lot with Gravity the much maligned Dimension Shift is your friend. This power works very well for the dom soloist. DS the mobs, deal with the remaining mobs (Lift, Gravity Distortion, blast, blast, dead).

I would also add, I'd slot gravity for control and recharge and not damage. You especially want your single target hold slotted up ASAP. Think of it as your primary means of damage mitigation. It's like a shield on a scrapper, tank, or brute.
  25. "Balance Impaired" that I like! Or just plain old "imbalanced" or "oversight" work too .

Overall I agree the change heavily favors the low levels. Picking up stamina in the 20's and Hasten is a must now for most builds.

I will say my mind/thorns feels like a powerhouse by lvl 21.
Minds strong single target holds mesh very with /thorns heavy hitting ST attacks and toxic damage. That's the one set that I can say is really wowing me solo.
