Looking to try out the new Dominators!

So, I've tried Dominators before ... multiple times . I just couldn't seem to stick with them, which is odd seeing as I often play both Blasters and Controllers!

With the changes and all of the positive feedback I am hearing, I was looking to try once again.

I was looking at Grav/* mainly because I've always wanted one, but I could be convinced otherwise. And also either */Fire or */Energy to pair with it (or something else, or another secondary all together! But I like these two ).

Any help would be appriciated, I solo often times, but I could get into teaming. Also, AV/Hero Takedowns? Thanks!

Gravity is a great set if you want to beef up your damage assault sets. Since Gravs heavy AoE controls don't come unitl later, you have plenty of slots to use for your damage dealing secondary.

Personally, I'd vote for grav with /energy, /electric or /thorns. Also nothing like lift, hold, lifting an annoying boss solo. And wormhole is also a great power if you couple it with you AoE immobilize. I would say if you're new to doms avoid Grav/Psi. It's blooms very late even with the recent buffs.

I only said that because any mention of Gravity on these boards automatically means some folks pick up their pitchforks and torches and burn effigies of the devs.

I ran a grav/thorns all the way to 50 and it was very enjoyable. Wormholing a mob onto a patch of Thorntrops was very satifying. I'm currently running a grav/NRG and it's been very fun as well.

It really depends on your playstyle. For more AoE, you'd probably want to choose Fire, Psi or Thorns. Single target would be NRG, Ice or Electric. Just note that once you get Singularity, you'll be blasting a ton more.

gravity is great when your fighting a tough boss since your singularity can hold a boss on its own easily so you can run in and hit it hard with your melee dmg powers

also nothing gives me more of a laugh than a mob running towards me when im in a office building and using lift on them so it slams them into the ceiling. never gets old

I vote Fire/Energy, I am loving the new one I made, currently at 24 and ifyou don't want knockback just take either fire cages for groups or ring of fire and it negates the knockback (be careful with this thought, that knockback provides ALOT of mitigation)...

After looking through again at the AT, I think I'll run a Grav/Fire. Seems like it's got a decent enough ammount of control as well as some hard hitting attacks. Any tips on the combo?

I have been musing that combo as well. The great thing about that pairing is Grav is a light set in the begining which allows you to slot up your fire attacks.

It will also allow you to grab more choices from your fire secondary. It also is a rare duck. I've seen so many Grav/Energy it is not funny.

Looks like a good theme, great match. Lifting people into the air then hitting em with fire priceless. I have a Grav/Thorn that duo's with a Fire/Them corr and it makes me giggle every time she hits them with a fireball in the air.
